Abraham Rest Home

My parents moved to one of the Abraham Rest Homes in August, 2005. Mother had Alzheimer’s, and my father simply wanted to be with her. This was not possible in the larger facilities, where my parents lived for one year, and left after experiencing continued price increases accompanied by continued under staffing.
My mother could not have had better care at Abraham. Never once did she have a bed sore even in the last few years in which she was completely immobile and required 100% care. (A couple of brief hospital stays resulted in bad sores which took weeks to clear up once she returned home.). She finally passed peacefully, in her own bed, in February of 2010.
My father lived on in the same room and was fond of saying «i live in a rest home, and that is what I do – rest!». He was fairly independent until a stroke last July. His care once back home from rehab was exemplary, and he lived at Abraham happily until this June, 2013 when he passed peacefully after going out with my husband for his favorite meal of a burger and root beer.
The owners are the most warm and caring family. Annette, her mom, Sara, and brothers Alex, Mark and John were always there if we couldn’t make it for a doctor or dentist appointment. They always remembered my parents birthdays and wedding anniversary, and they dropped in to visit my folks every week. And brought their favorite chocolate treats:)
I cannot recommend Abraham Rest Homes more highly. You will not find more honest, responsible and responsive owners! And they select the very best caregivers. we shopped around, and believed this was the best choice in 2005. I still believe they are the best choice in 2013!
