Advance Tree Service and Landscaping

Advance Tree Service did amazing work on our trees. First, I must say their customer service (both on the phone & in person) is exceptional. They are professional, efficient and keep their word. The owner (Darren) showed up on time for the estimate and provided guidance on how he would trim the trees. The estimate for the work (numerous trees — of different types) was beyond reasonable. We immediately called to book the appointment. Advance Tree called prior to the appointment to provide a window of time — for the arrival of the crew. The crew showed up on time, introduced themselves and went straight to work. The trees look amazing! They did a fantastic job. The crew then cleaned everything up. I would definitely hire them again — I also highly recommend them to anyone looking for a tree service.

First, let me say that the review (s) below do not appear to be for Advance Tree because Vic is not the owner and both of them are so far afield of reality. Read the «info from company» below and you’ll realize how wrong these reviews are.
I’ve used Advance (Walnut Creek company) several times to trim large trees over the past 10 years on my Clayton property. They have far exceeded other firms I’ve used. They are knowledgeable (Darren, the main estimator, is a certified arborist), friendly, helpful and meticulous. Unlike another firm I once used, they don’t come in and start whacking big limbs off your trees… they’re more like artists, taking a snip here and there (if that’s what you want, which is what I definitely wanted).
They were here today trimming several trees and did an excellent job, precisely what I wanted (and my wife and I are very picky about our trees). The price was fair ($ 650 for nearly 3 hours of work) by two guys). The workers were fabulous.
If you haven’t gotten your beautiful tree trimmed for years because of the hassle and expense of a bunch of guys who don’t know what they’re doing showing up, I highly recommend Advance. And seriously, these other 2 reviews are off the mark. Unilocal often has helpful reviews, but there aren’t enough here on tree service companies.

Why on earth would Vic, apparently the owner, talk to me on the phone, make arrangements to come over to give me an estimate and not show up? I called to get a status on when he’d get an estimate to me, left a message, and no return call. In this case, two strikes and you are out. I would not do business with anyone that irresponsible and unprofessional. He sounded very nice on the phone and even had tree recommendations for me. I had to give them at least one star but they earned a big fat ZERO from me. Beware of this man and his company!

My neighbor hired Advance Tree Service. Without asking permission, they decided to prune my hedge. They pruned well beyond the property line and well below the top of my fence, effectively butchering my hedge that used to provide an attractive privacy screen. It will take years for the plants to recover and grow back to their original height. Advance Tree Service has shown no remorse or interest in making this right. This has also hurt my relationship with my neighbor.
