Atlas Pavers Co

We recently had our front yard done (pavers + turf) by Atlas, and the experience from estimation to the final walk through was fantastic. I am glad working with contractors doesn’t have to be a frustrating experience after all!
I had a handful of companies come out to do an estimate before I decided to go with Atlas. Radek from Atlas was by far the most detail oriented, professional and friendly. He surveyed the grounds with great care and discussed different options with us to ensure we can figure out a satisfactory design that fits our budget.
The rest of crew was equally excellent. Each morning a friendly crew would arrive promptly to start the work and occasionally a different team will show up as they rotate through the responsibilities. I was initially worried that our project was not going to be done before Christmas because we started in mid-​December and the weather was not cooperating, but Radek and team worked their magic to fit in the work in between raining days and finished it just in time for us to enjoy a beautiful front yard over the holidays. :) The crew even thew in a few extra touch-​ups to enhance the look of our stairs and planter liners after they started the work, which was certainly a very pleasant surprise.
After work was completed, Radek followed up with a very detailed walk-​through. I made a few casual comments about the location of the drainage outlet and the «refreshly-​unrolled» (slanted) look of the turf blades; a few hours later, a crew member showed up and relocated the drain to a more optimal location and gave the turf another good brush so it looked more natural. Very impressive!
I cannot express how pleased I was with the entire project. It was like handing work to a trustworthy friend. I had such a good time working with Radek and the team that I was almost sad when the work was done. If I have any paving needs in the future, I will definitely reach out to them again.

Atlas Pavers did an excellent job on transforming our backyard. We had a small grassy area, some cement, and some areas with mulch. Maintaining the grass in the drought was tough so we decided that pavers would be a great way to go. When calling other companies, none compared to the level of service received from Atlas. Radek came out to perform the estimate and provided great ideas on how to make a functional backyard for us. We live in San Francisco where there is no drainage system besides the grass we had so he suggested a drainage pit which solved our problem. Radek worked in our favor in providing a fair price and he was even able to squeeze our project in on our desired date. Not only did our project get completed before an upcoming party we had but it was completed early.
Junior and his team were very organized and clean when performing the work. As with many San Francisco homes there is only access to the backyard via going through the home. Junior made sure that all equipment and tools were covered and they laid down plastic wrap over our hardwood floors for the pathway to the backyard. After the job was completed they cleaned up all the mess and you couldn’t even tell that dirt, pavers, and tools were brought through the house.
We love our backyard and received many compliments from friends and family. I would definitely recommend them for any project.

After interviewing in 2015 three Bay Area Paver Contractors who, like Atlas Pavers, held essential ICPI Certified Installer credentials, I am so happy I chose Atlas Pavers for my residential paver project. In my opinion, Atlas Pavers is a high quality local trusted company who are true craftsmen «paver aestheticians» and who performed superior work and provided prompt, top-​notch customer service. The base prep; compaction; laying of pavers, and sloping appear to be done properly to ICPI Industry standards with such attention to detail. I am pleased with the excellent cutting precision of the pavers. The customized retaining wall in the front and rear patio were installed nicely. Atlas Pavers demolition and installation crew showed up on time daily and at the end of each day left the work site as clean as possible and to my total satisfaction. I love the compliments I’m receiving from my Meridian Hills neighbors who rave about the elegant curved front walkway and beautiful front patio and steps thanks to the skillful, hard working, synergistic Atlas Pavers team! A completed job well done!

We had 2 bids on our sidewalk project, and chose Atlas Pavers. Atlas seemed more knowledgeable about the construction details. First Radek came by to estimate the job, then Junior took over supervision of the project. Junior was very helpful, patient, and accommodating of our requests. The actual work was done professionally, and relatively quickly (although with the recent rains work had to be postponed a couple days, no fault of theirs obviously). Everyone on the crew was friendly and hard-​working. We really like the work they did on the entrance steps to the front of our house. In the attached photos you’ll see our yard is in transition to a more drought tolerant landscape. Those burlap sacks on the former lawn are not part of the Atlas project.
For reference, the pavers are Basalite Artisan Slate, color Naples. The pattern is Random 2, with a Soldier border

Radek gave us a very fair price and was actually 7000 less then another paver installer. We asked that they had the job done by a specific date and they finished over a week sooner. We couldn’t be more happy. Jr was also great to work with and his crew was great as well.

A new back patio is an investment– you do not want to make a mistake with who you hire. We hired Atlas pavers to install a very large back patio (about 1800 sq ft) as well as a small decorative wall. We are so happy with the results!
I had almost hired a different company, and then checked the Unilocal reviews and chose Atlas instead. Junior is awesome, just like everyone else says. And, their price came in almost 20% lower than the other guy. He’s very quick to respond, and has a high desire to make the customer happy. He’s a yes guy– whatever you are trying to do he will work with you and try to make it happen.
Because it’s a big investment and the first I’ve ever made of this kind, I panicked several times throughout the process and changed direction. Junior was patient and made it happen for us. His guys also have a good eye for design,
We installed the pavers around our pool, which we were also remodeling at the time. This required flexibility by both companies to work around each other (demo on patio had to be done before pool people could start, but they couldn’t resume work until pool people were done with a certain phase, etc). Junior was really willing to accomodate. One time he had one of his guys come on a weekend just to have it finished off before the pool people started back again. Like others said, they worked quickly and clean, and we would’ve been done sooner than planned if not for the pool stuff.
We also had quite a few drainage needs (again, this is near a pool, and it’s also near several downspouts from our roof) and they addressed those as well and brought us a couple different options.
At final inspection he had us look everything over and mark any issues with tape. We found a couple chipped pavers, and a couple areas where the sealer sealed in some muddy footprints. No problem for Junior– he had them all fixed quickly.
It’s almost a year later and they still look great!

Junior and his team did an extremely professional job with the paving in our backyard. We are very happy with the results and the price was very reasonable compared to their competitors! They were very responsive to our requests, and completed the work in quick time and on budget. We would not hesitate to recommend Atlas to our friends! Thank you Junior, Radek and the crew at Atlas.

I recentley used atlas pavers to install a brick patio in my backyard in antioch. Atlas was fast friendly and reasonably priced i recomend them for any paving or brick needs. Would certainly use again in a heartbeat.

I used Atlas to place pavers on my driveway in a home i recently purchased. My driveway is on a hill and needed to be graded. Junior did a diligent job of measuring my car to make sure I could get into the driveway.
The driveway looks fantastic and I have already had a few compliments on it. In addition, and more importantly, cars no longer bottom-​out on the driveway.
As with any construction project, it did not go 100% smoothly. The garage door was left open for a prolonged period during the day concrete was removed. This resulted in a ton of dust build up in the garage. If I had known that would happen, I would have covered stuff.
Junior hired a fantastic person to clean, dust and mop my garage and they also did a fantastic job.

Atlas just did our back patio and they were excellent in every way.
From the first call to come for an estimate to the follow-​up after the project was completed, they were professional, courteous, fair and honest. They gave us a fair price and did a great job. They even started early and completed it in less time than they’d estimated.
They worked 8am-​8pm on a 104 degree day, and continued working hard until the job was done.
We love our new patio and will definitely use them again for future jobs. Highly recommended!

We got 5 quotes from paver contractors for two driveways and a patio. It was a difficult choice between Atlas and the contractor we ultimately chose. Itamar (Atlas co-​owner) was very professional and explained the various options. His quote was detailed and included a list of addresses for completed projects. It was a difficult decision, definitely would consider Atlas for future projects.

Jr and his crew just completed a large project at our home — it included a large patio and pavers around our pool/​the coping around the pool. Atlas did a fantastic job for us. The project turned out very nice and on schedule — even with a few delays along the way! Jr answered all questions and kept in touch along the way. I would definitely recommend them !

These guys did a big job for me at my home in Crescent Park Palo Alto. Im not an easy customer. I have a way that i want things to look and will raise hell when they are not right. That was not a problem for Jr and Jeanne. Any qualm i had was met with response and respect. The driveway was 1300 sq feet, a new circular install. It looks just like it has always been there. We also put in a new concrete driveway approach using there SUB Henry concrete. Anyways, they went the extra mile. Thanks

Excellent customer service. Very attentive, they answer their phones with real people not a taped message with «we are out on a job and will get back to you asap». These guys are amazing. You will be very happy.

Junior and his team did an excellent job on my big project which involved demo of the old asphalt driveway and pool patio and installation of over 4,000 sq ft of new porous pavers (hydro-​flow from Pacific Interlock) in order to meet local requirements and maintain the coverage we wanted. (real work started end-​of July 2014, driveway finished by end of August, patio finished in October 2014)
It was a big project and like any big project it encountered a few bumps in the road (no pun intended) that caused some delays. For example, it took longer to survey the property line than anticipated — not their fault but important to get right — Atlas was patient while this was done. It took longer to get all materials — supply issue — we were both patient. There were some issues coordinating with a pool contractor who was supposed to fix a cracked pipe — Atlas made it all right though.
So, some headaches and I did have to get involved in making sure these issues were corrected or otherwise dealt with. I also had to make sure that all the plans were perfectly followed in general as Junior wasn’t there every day and his team wouldn’t necessarily know the plan or be able to perfectly understand and follow them on their own. But Junior did make sure everything ultimately got done as agreed and as drawn in the approved plans.
In summary, you get excellent craftsmanship at an excellent price as long as you can be involved a bit to help things along and have some patience since projects like this often take longer than anticipated. Best of all, in situations where other contractors might just disappear or try to tell you ‘no big deal’ if something was a bit off — Junior/​Atlas pavers made it right. They even came back 5 months later (March 2015) to re-​compact an area where some pavers got loose and reset the pavers (likely due to too little sand used in that one spot). That willingness to do what it takes to get it right and make the customer happy even months later, along with quality workmanship, is a good justification for 5 stars.

This review in long overdue! My broken, cracked concrete driveway was in great need of a complete rehab and instead of paving it with either concrete or asphalt I decided that I was going to put pavers in. After 3 paver companies came over to give me an estimate, I settled on Atlas Pavers Co. Why?
They were the only ones who actually showed up at the time we agreed on. The other 2 companies flaked on me, had no respect for my time and treated me as if I was just one more wallet. Junior and Candido showed up, took their time explaining to me what were my options, told me to do a little more research before making my decision and if I had any more questions, to call them anytime.
My husband and I decided to hire them. Their crew came over to do the work and they were very polite, professional, they maintained a job site as clean as they could and when they left, we had a beautiful driveway.

I have to admit, we started out on a rocky road with Atlas Pavers. First I contacted them through their website with no response. I then contacted them through Unilocal (I was not ready to give up since Junior, one of the owners, came recommended by someone I knew and they had such great reviews on here), I got a response immediately. We set up a date to have someone come out that Saturday. No one showed. I was really disappointed again because I had heard and read such great things about the company and their pricing. The other quotes we had received were ridiculously high! But at this point we just decided to give up. That Tuesday I received an email from Junior that he heard his sales person had missed our appointment and he was very sorry and that he himself would come out at any time that was convenient for us. We decided to give it a shot and schedule another appointment. The next day in the mail we received a hand written card from the sales person who missed our appointment apologizing. Now that is customer service we thought! Atlas was back in the game!
We are so happy we got to meet with Junior and get a quote, which was half the amount of the other two quotes we received. Junior and his crew worked quickly and tore up our old concrete patio, took out a tree and put in pavers for our new beautiful patio. The work was done in two days!!! We are loving our new patio! We would recommend Atlas Pavers to anyone putting in new pavers.

We contacted five companies about replacing our concrete driveway and walkway with pavers, tiling over our concrete porch, among other things. Junior came out for Atlas Paving, and I was impressed by his professionalism, the detail of his subsequent bid, and his quick follow-​up to e-​mails.
Atlas was very price competitive, and they were available to start within a week. It was a hard choice between them and one other company. Unfortunately, we also needed some wood projects done (replacing a fence, etc…), which the other company does and Atlas doesn’t.
Although we ultimately didn’t choose Atlas, I would definitely consider them again for any future paver projects.

I just had my final walk-​through and feel great about my new backyard. Junior has been very easy to work with and responds to emails and calls with detailed answers. The work happened as promised and on schedule. The workers were friendly and did a careful job cleaning up each night. The results look very professional and even better than we expected.
