Aussie Pet Mobile Walnut Creek, Tri-Valley, East Contra Costa

I have 4 dogs, and this service is a blessing. I thought it was a little pricey, but after she spent 2 hours with each dog, and they were each happy and lovely after, it’s definitely worth every penny. Love them.

I almost don’t want to give them 5 stars because they may get too busy. However, Mary has earned high praise from my 3 dogs. We have an OES who requires regular grooming and has been known to get testy being caged for grooming. He loves Mary and walks right in to her van to get groomed. She also trims my dachshunds nails. They aren’t as fond of having this done as Monty, but they put up with it. Which is saying a lot for a dachshund. Debbie in the office has been wonderful scheduling us for several appointments at once during the busy holiday season. Some might consider them pricey, but I think it is worth every penny. My three dogs think so too!

I would rate the quality of the washing, drying and de-​shedding very high. The woman who came to my house with the big truck was friendly, nice and sweet with my dog. My dog is 52 pounds and one the older side, and had no problem lifting her onto the bench in the truck for the washing.
However, In the end I feel like the price is not worth it. $ 115!!! I think if you hate to wash your dog, or if your dog is really difficult to wash, I would recommend the service. But if you don’t mind going to a manual dog washing place where it’s only $ 10 to wash your dog, it’s way more efficient and cost effective. They charged me $ 115 to wash, blow dry and «de shed» my dog, which I guess is a special cream that helps with excess shedding. $ 115 is crazy expensive… that’s the same amount I pay my hair stylist to highlight and cut my hair, lol. We will not be using them again.
As a sidenote, they were going to charge me $ 125, which included a trim, but the groomer who showed up did not recommend it for her breed and style of hair, so we eliminated that. They only took $ 10 off the price for not doing the trim. Does that seem right? The groomer called it in to dispatch to make sure that was right, and the dispatcher confirmed. Crazy. It wasn’t her fault, but I think the guy was trying to make as much as possible off me because he knew the dog had already been washed. They had a chance to win me over as a customer, but we will just continue to go to the dog self-​wash place in Lafayette.

First cut of my mini labradoodle puppy. I specifically asked for my puppy to look just the same only shorter. Asked for ½ trimmed other whole body and to keep her bangs the same only trimmed. She is now chopped to ½ to her skin, NO bands left, hair chopped uneven all over and they charged me $ 100 dollars! Jessica the groomer was nice but did not listen to one thing I said. The truck was filthy dirty and was covered in hair. NEVER USE THEM TO GROOM YOUR DOG. What a disappointment… live and learn… I guess my puppy will grow out.

I have ready many great reviews on Unilocal and that is what directed me to Aussie. However, after booking an appointment on their website I was contacted by a rep who instructed me the appointment I selected wasn’t available. The next appointment would be in two weeks. Their truck was «too large» to come to my location. The young man was rude, condescending, dismissive, and threatening. I said I would book the two week appointment, but had another source that was supposed to get back to me. He, in no uncertain terms, stated, «yeah, well that’s not how we do business. .. you can’t appointment shop». Well, actually I can. I took my dog to Petco in Walnut Creek. They took him that day and did a wonderful job. The cost for a full-​blown service was $ 57.00. G’day to you Aussie! Forever.

We recently had Aussie Pet Mobile come by our home to groom and de-​shed all three of our dogs. The young woman who showed up (right on time) was clearly a dog lover. She made all three nervous dogs feel very comfortable, and she did wonderful work, removing what seemed like pounds of fur. The dogs look great and we could not be happier. Also, I cannot say enough about the convenience of having someone show up at our home. We will have her back again regularly.

We finally found the perfect groomer! Our labradoodle has a thick, curly coat which needs to be maintained regularly to avoid matting. Every other groomer we have tried has always said she needed to be shaved when we take her in (turns out, they were just too lazy to brush through her coat and give her a maintainable cut.) Mary has never had to shave our dog, and she looks like a perfect «teddy bear» every time. Sometimes it takes over 3 hours because we wait too long in between appointments to schedule, and Mary will work late and doesn’t overcharge us still. My dog also seems to love her, which lets me know that she treats her well. As long as Mary is available as a groomer, we will absolutely never go anywhere else. Totally worth the extra money to have her come out to my house and to know I’ll be happy with the results each time. They always call the day before to confirm, and have always been able to accommodate us even on short notice. Couldn’t be happier with their service!

We have been using Aussie Pet Mobile for over a year. My two girls Molly and Maggie hate car rides and don’t always do well around other dogs, so this is a great solution. Kelsey takes care of my girls monthly and is amazing. My favorite service they offer is the de-​shedding treatment, we no longer have hair all over the house. Kelsey knows my dogs very well and has alerted me to things I have missed, such as a hot spot on my dog Maggie. Molly has big dew claws and has never let groomers in the past trim them. Kelsey is so gentle that she is able to get them done every time. Kelsey is also great with people and always make sure we have appts set up and is flexible if things change. Aussie Pet Mobile has been a great service for our family.

My male dog was forever traumatized by a groomer! He would not tolerate any type of brushing, washing or cutting without being sedated. That is until Shannon groomed him! She was patient and calm even though he was crazy! (thanks to the muzzle, she didn’t get bitten) I don’t know how she did it without him being sedated, but she did a fabulous job! Although it is really expensive, well worth it if I don’t have to sedate him. He is such a sweet dog after he is groomed, and he feels so much better. I can’t thank her enough!

We used to have a lab, so grooming was an easy process. However, the labradoodle we now have has required a steep learning curve in terms of coat care. Colleen does a beautiful job with our doodle, and always seems to trim her just the right amount so that she’s not too matted before the next grooming appointment (because I am not a diligent coat comber). Colleen seems to appreciate the anxiety grooming creates for an animal and, as a result, is always very kind with our highly sensitive dog. We are grateful to have found Colleen.

I suspect your experience here is going to be totally dictated by the groomer assigned to your area. Shannon did a great job with my elderly dog: the cut was very good and she went out of her way to make him comfortable. There is no denying that this is an extremely convenient service, but you certainly pay for it. With tip it is nearly twice the price of a typical groomer. It is a bit hard to swallow, but might be worth it to save your dog the trauma of being cooped up in a pen for half the day waiting for his turn.

I have used Aussie pet twice as of today. They sent me a wonderful girl (Coleen) who had to carry our Lab (75 pounds) about 100 feet to their mobile van. She had no qualms about doing that. They are a little pricy but well worth every bit of the cost. Thank you Aussie pet .

I had been away from Aussie for awhile. Nor=t because of the work they did but the groomers attitude and constantly changing. I took my Shih Tzu elsewhere. Then I needed spine surgery and could not drive for awhile, also I could not groom Wiggles. Anyone with a shih Tzu knows they need daily grooming or they mat. Si I called Aussie for another chance. I believe the groomers name is Debbie (i am bad with names) and I have had her her three times. The first visit Wiggles had many mats and the groomer was able to cut them away. There were no razor burns nicks or anything negative. The second visit was just a normal cut. Now I am ready to let her hair grow out again, I showed Wiggles groomer a few picture of what I want her to look like and she did a very good job. I will stay with Aussie now and would recommend them to anyone

I have been using Aussie Vet for, well, through the terrible loss of one of my three dogs. Mary was caring and gentle with my beloved Gigi in her last days. I am sure the others groomers do rock, but Mary is my personal choice for Best Groomer Award. Mary helped me with my other dog, who is difficult (she tells me that she is not the most difficult dog but I know she’s being polite). She may have said my Difficult Dog was in her top 5… but I digress.
Mary can do that dog’s, or any dog’s toenails, and that is no small feat! She is compassionate and loving. She is always professional, and is gifted with dogs (and I assume horses and cats!).
I have found them wonderful, professional and both Mary and Aussie Pets are flexible and very easy to do business with.

I sent an on-​line request for an appt and was about to contact another mobile groomer but finally about a week later got a call back from APM. The guy who booked my appt was very nice and chatty. He made me an appt for Greta to come to my house to groom my sweet beautiful Lizzy who is a 15 yr old, almost blind, almost deaf, German Sheperd with very painful back legs and can barely walk (she’s on Rymadyl and Tramadol). I hadn’t taken Lizzy to her usual groomer for about a year because it is just too hard on her. Therefore her toenails and undercoat were in bad need of grooming. I explained all of this to Greta and that this may be the last grooming of Lizzy’s life. She totally understood and was very sympathetic. The appt was supposed to be 1.5 hrs but it took Greta 2 hrs due to the fact that Lizzy’s undercoat was so full and took lots of extra brushing to get almost all of it off (she could have used more brushing but I’m sure Greta’s arm was giving out by then). Lizzy came out so pretty and smelling sweet and is much happier with all that fur gone and her toenails clipped. I got $ 15 off for using them for the first time but gave that back to Greta as a tip. All in all a good experience and I would recommend them to my friends & family.

I would love to write a review, but could not get an appt. with them. I called one day early in the day and left a voicemail. A guy called me back at 6:45 PM. I informed him I was driving and could I call back in 10 mins. His response was that it was late. (HELLO, you are the one who just called me back after several hours). I pulled over to try and talk. He was quick and short on the phone, asked a few questions about my cat, cut me off while I was answering. Then said his cat person was booked up and he’d put me on a waiting list for the next few weekends. Never heard from them again.
Sorry, I prefer better customer service.

The Bottom Line: Crappy equipment.
The trailer these people used was filthy and stank of dog, which distressed our cat. As a result, he did not behave well, and the groomer gave up on him. The equipment itself was not well-​maintained, and I would not use Walnut Creek area APM again.
This is an exceptional case, as I have been very pleased with Aussie Pet Mobile in the past. If you want your pet groomed, and you’re in the Walnut Creek/​Concord area, call a different APM franchise.

I used Aussie Pet Mobile from Brentwood (I live in Concord) for the last two years and loved them. Apparently they did some restructuring, and the girl who always groomed my dog was no longer there. They also said they no longer serviced my area so was referred to this Walnut Creek location.
I think her name was Jessica, called me before my appointment to say she was 45 minutes or so early, but I couldn’t leave work, so kept my original appointment. When I got there she was waiting. I was her last appointment for the day, so I felt she was anxious to get done and get home. I told her my 3 year old Lhasa is afraid of the blow dryer, and afraid of getting her nails clipped and that the first groomer she had was not very nice. Then I switched to Aussie in Brentwood and loved them because that girl was so nice and understanding with my sensitive girl. I was told that she would be well taken care of and out they went to the mobile trailer.
A little while later I heard my dog Unilocaling while being under the blow dryer and opened my kitchen window to listen. I heard the groomer telling my dog to «shut it», «knock it off» and some other things I can’t remember. I kept listening to make sure things didn’t get worse or I would have gone out and rescued my dog. I will never use these people again.

These people Rock! Our groomer that came to our house was so nice and friendly. Our dog looked great better then any other groomer we have ever taken her.
We are very pleases with Aussie Pet Mobile.
