History

Established in 2002.

After working in the non-​profit sector for many years I decided I’d like to utilize my design skills. So, not only am I a graphic designer, I have great communication and administrative skills. (In other words, I complete projects on time and within budget!)

Laurie P.

Business Owner

In 1993, Laurie graduated with a degree in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley where she studied art, literature, music and history and from various ethnic perspectives. Shortly after graduation, Laurie’s daughter Amy was born, and Laurie embarked on the long and challenging task of balancing career and family life. She worked in the non-​profit sector for several years where she utilized her art and communication skills to coordinate projects including the production of educational and marketing materials.

Laurie founded Blue Heron Graphics in 2001. Since then Laurie has been helping small businesses and non-​profit organizations develop branding and marketing collateral so they can better communicate with their customers and clients. She also has production experience with a local newspaper and magazine. Blue Heron Graphics became a Contra Costa Certified Green Business in 2005.
