I absolutely LOVE this place. Clean, friendly staff, and amazing sandwich every SINGLE time. I came here on a fluke starting last month and now I can’t get enough. Been here several times already. I usually get Salami or Prosciutto on a dutch crunch roll. I love that they cut cheese fresh.

I keep walking by this deli and always mean to eat here. Today I made it and was definitely glad I did. I had the Cubano and Mom had a BLT. Both were good and all the ingredients were fresh. Of the pasta salads offered, it was run of the mill fare and I thought the macroni salad could have been a little less creamy. I recommend this deli for a quick, good lunch, or if you don’t want to pay the outrageous prices the nearby restaurants seem to have.

My first time here. Based on the pictures posted, I expected a heartier sandwich. I had a Cubano and it was tasty because of the spicy mustard but it didn’t have a lot of meat, whichbis pretty much the only ingredient except for a slice of Swiss cheese and thin slices of pickles. Ordered a small side of potato salad, and it tasted like it was right out of a tub, definitely not homemade. Lots of vinegar in it besides the potatoes. Scale of 1 – 10, I’d rate it a 5. I’d come again but given the selection of other delis, it might be a while.

Probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had however it’s pretty disappointed that today I went to take a bite of my pasta salad and I bit into the WORST mold taste ever. I’ve eaten almonds, drank water, and even had a fruit roll and I can’t get the mold taste out of my mouth. It’s very concerning to me wondering how fresh the meats are. Very disappointing and I can’t get this awful taste out of my mouth.

This place is a good place to get a good quality sandwich. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasted good. It was relatively fast and they have good quality chips and drink selection. Down side bad parking and it was 14 dollars for sandwich, drink and chips. Tasted great though.

One of my fave delis in the Bay Area! I usually build my own but if I want to splurge I’ll go for the Bearwood which includes; turkey, roast beef, salami, ham, swiss, on a roll with lettuce, tomato, mustard — a day’s worth of sodium intake. so I advise on eating half.

I’ll tell you, their food is really good. But you know what? Any deli that has good quality meats, cheeses and breads will taste good. The customer service isn’t really warm though.

Horrible service, walk in and not a word out of the owner. Proceeds to awkwardly stare as I peruse the menu, not offering any customer service what so ever. It’s a shame your lack of service deters potentially loyal customers.

Pretty good but not great deli – at least on this experience. We popped in for a quick lunch, but it wasn’t so quick. Although there was hardly anyone there – we were the first in line – it took almost ten minutes to serve us and another ten to make our sandwiches. The food was good. My Reuben had great fresh ingredients but I think a great Reuben needs to be grilled not pressed. My wife has been a few times before and says she thinks it was slow because the owner was there! She’d probably give it an extra star. On her recommendation I’d probably give it another try. But on this experience I can only say«meh». It certainly can’t compete with Morucci’s deli, except for its more central location.

Came in here for lunch this week. Super solid delicatessen. Dutch crunch was good, but no were close to Mr. Pickles good. I also wish there was an option to toast, maybe there is but I was never offered. Super friendly staff, good customer service. They sell chips, and all sorts of drinks including alcohol. Line moves pretty quick too.

Ah man! They just made the size of the soup that comes with the soup and ½ sandwich smaller :-(I get it, high costs are effecting everyone, but I’m still bummed. Overall I really like this place. A good selection of sandwiches, soup, drinks, chips, etc. And the people are friendly enough. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 just because I’m bummed about the smaller soup. And … I’ve asked the owner several times to please write the soup of the day on the white board so that I don’t have to wait in line just to find out it is a type of soup I don’t like. For some reason he just won’t do that. Ug. Anyway, I’m still a fan, but wish they would make that one small change for me.

I had been searching long and hard for a place that serves Boars Head meats and that’s how I found Brass Bear. This is a good Italian style deli. I strongly recommend getting either the Italian or Mona Lisa both of these sandwiches are great. Of course you can always make your own sandwich but with any of their specialty sandwiches you can’t go wrong. Additionally you can always buy meat there to take home and they have many great drink options and chip options to choose from to pair with your sandwich.

Super yummy sandwiches and awesome soups and sides! The meat and all ingredients are fresh and delicious. I tried the creamy potato soup, which was flavorful and fantastic. The people who work there are very nice and efficient as well. Awesome local deli, definitely plan on making this a lunch staple!

Ask and you shall receive. I wanted a good sandwich, and a good sandwich is what I got. Brass Bear is a small deli located in the heart of Walnut Creek. Why out of all the places to choose from in the area would you come to Brass Bear? Well, if you’re looking for an amazing sandwich, at a great price in a deli that is clean and is run by friendly employees, then you might want to consider Brass Bear. When it comes to ordering sandwiches I’m not really a fan of the build your own style. I know people like to customize down to the last minute detail, but I’m a simple guy. Because I was hungry, the sandwich that was screaming my name was the Bearwood. Turkey, roast beef, ham AND salami, with Swiss cheese. They don’t skimp on the meats either. My sandwich was in meat overload and I loved it. So many great flavors coming together in every single bite. Along with the meat fest you also get all the normal toppings that make any sandwich great: Pickles, lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo and mustard. I ordered a small cup of potato salad that looked amazing in the display counter. It was pretty good, but a little heavy with the mayo. The potatoes tasted amazing, and it reminded me of just some really good homemade potato salad. Bringing back some good memories with that one. This deli is everything you want in a deli. A counter full of fresh meats and cheeses. Another counter filled with the most amazing looking side dishes. A repeater? I do believe so.

Super hearty and delicious sandwiches! I got a turkey and prosciutto sandwich and it was as good as the sides look in the deli case(there’s 6 different sides it looks like, and they all look awesome). Definitely give it a try. Parking isn’t too difficult — Street, though, and tables inside to sit at. Oh, and there’s EIGHTEENCHEESEOPTIONS. Yeah. Let that soak in.
