Bugs Be Gone Pest Control Service

We use Bugs Be Gone quarterly to help keep spiders etc at bay. Whenever I have needed a spray in between our scheduled maintenance, they come within 24 hours of my call. Everyone is pleasant from the receptionist to the exterminators and the owner. I highly recommend them.

This is not a review for their pest spraying, but for the office staff and scheduling (they only have a voicemail, no people answer the phones). Bugs be Gone is cheaper than many other companies because they come out more often, thereby charging you for more services. Their exterminators are always nice and knowledgeable.
However, it is impossible to schedule an appointment or speak to office staff and when you do, they always get it wrong. My first appointment I was very clear that I did not want a recurring appointment, as we have a dog, so I planned to call every 3 months and schedule my appointment manually. Somehow I got enrolled in a recurring plan, and Bugs be Gone kept calling me the night before these recurring appointments «confirming my appointment tomorrow.» However, I could never make these recurring appointments work, as I leave my dog alone all day with access to a dog door, so it’s dangerous for him to be there when they spray. So, I would get these calls then call them back to say «no, don’t come, I didn’t schedule this!» and you can NEVER get a person on the phone– only a machine to leave a message telling you due to a large volume of calls they will call back in 24 – 48 hours. Every time they did this I would then panic that they didn’t get my message telling them not to come and would then come and spray and endanger my dog.
This month I called to schedule my appointment and confirmed the date and time. I called when we got back in town and left a voicemail to confirm they came, as I never got a charge. I heard back from them and they left a voicemail saying they were confirming my recurring appt for the next day! So they not only didn’t schedule me when they said they would, but they then still had not cancelled my recurring appointment! I left my standard frantic appt telling them not to come and of course have not heard back. I assume they never came, as my dog is still standing.
Save yourself the hassle and go with someone else. Time is money, and these people waste your time, so even if they are cheaper overall they are not worth it.

9÷25÷15 — I am revising my previous review upward because after numerous calls over two or three months, Bugs Be Gone finally did come out (albeit three and one half hours earlier than the scheduled time) and satisfactorily serviced my account. The exterminator was thorough, very kind, and helpful. I intend to stay with the company, and if their service is responsive when needed and on schedule, I will increase their stars accordingly.
1÷1÷16 — I am now adding another star for consistent service.

I have been using them for four months and so far so good. Everyone is very professional and thorough. I like that they spray indoor and outdoor and have all natural products available at no additional cost. Bob, the owner, offered to set traps in my attic and pick them up at no fee since I wasn’t sure if we had rats or not. They are willing to listen to your specific pest issues and address accordingly. I would recommend them and love that they are a local, family operated business.

Really great service. Owner is friendly and professional, educated us about the chemicals used, efficacy against certain insects, duration, etc. Receptionists are a little all over the place, will sometimes not answer during prime business hours, and it takes a few messages left for them to call back. However, the pest control part makes up for that. Overall my family is very satisfied!

I was looking forward to using this company because of the great reviews but unfortunately the individuals booking appointments were quite difficult to work with. I made an appointment and waited the entire time window but alas, nobody showed. When I called the office, the ladies I spoke with (two different ones) told me that Jen (the main scheduler?) had moved my appointment to a different date/​time without notifying me and that she was out of town and all they could do was reschedule. No apology, no nothing. I decided to give them a chance anyway and rescheduled for the following week. Good thing I called the day prior to confirm my appointment because now apparently they have no record of my name or address or appointment! Ridiculous and complete waste of my time. Not to mention when I voiced my frustration, I got hung up on. I’m glad that I did not continue further with this company because if I can’t even get a first visit in then how would I even be able to schedule my bimonthly maintenance?!

I’ve used other pest controls in the past that were difficult to work with. Called and spoke to Jen and getting someone out here was a breeze. They came out and serviced my place everyone was so nice. I will for sure use them again!

Friendly and professional office staff; they got us on the calendar quickly, answered our questions, and helped prepare us for the job. The serviceman was on time, in fact he was early. He was knowledgeable and attentive to our problem and let us know everything we needed to be aware of. Highly recommend this business.

The customer service here is the best in he business. I have not actually had them come out yet. But I had to reschedule several times because of my work conflict and they were so professional. Once we get into our new house I will be calling them.

Bob was a lifesaver! Apparently this year has been awful for fleas due to the mild winter and somehow they got on our dogs and I was beyond concerned about a full-​blown infestation because they’re indoor-​outdoor border collies. They did an initial spray of the downstairs and outdoors covering every square inch of our yard which I think is fairly good-​sized. We hadn’t found any in the house, but there were some live ones in the yard which he showed us when he inspected. The fleas subsided for a few weeks but then he came back out to spray when the next round emerged at no extra charge. For the reasonable price of bimonthly service and the large extent of things is covers and pests it protects you from, it didn’t make sense not to get continued service. I would pay for the bimonthly service for the spider web removal it provides alone, let alone pest control for insects and rodents. He was very knowledgeable and experienced about pests and prevented us from a serious infestation. The pesticide they use isn’t toxic to mammals which is important because our border collies spend a lot of time outside and on the grass. After treating the dogs and the yard we’re flea-​free and very satisfied. Cannot recommend them highly enough if you have any pests you need to get taken care of.

Bugs Be Gone is amazing!
We recently moved to Pleasanton, CA from New Mexico and upon arriving into our new home we found that it was full of spiders. Now, I’m all for keeping a few around to catch the pesky flies but when they’re in my kids blankets I draw the line. I called around and couldn’t find anybody local that would either a) answer the phone or b) not charge an arm and a leg! FINALLY, I found Jen. Talk about customer service! She is so kind and polite, she took the time to talk me through the service and eased my mind that the chemicals used wouldn’t hurt my babies or my fur babies. I chose the bi-​monthly option, and every 2 months Jen gives us a call to see when we can get someone out and she’s incredibly understanding when you can’t make an appointment for the scheduled 2 months and need to pull it out a week or two.
As for the service itself, it’s fantastic. They spray inside and outside, get rid of any nests you may have, spray your garage and always de-​web your exterior. If you need something else doing that isn’t on the sheet just ask and they will get to it. I have to say though, I feel like Robert is more thorough and is friendlier towards my children and my animals than anybody else who has come to spray. It’s as if he exudes kindness. Such a great guy to talk to and extremely informative of what pest issues we have where.

I went with Bugs Be Gone after doing some Unilocal searching. They clearly communicated the day of the spraying as to arrival time. It was very quick and we have not had any problems with ants since and it has been about 4 months since our spraying. And our ant problem was really bad. I would definitely use them again.

Excellent service. Bob is a great guy, friendly and very professional. Got the job done on time, came back to check again. We asked them to use green, natural and kids safe products — No problem.

I am so thankful for Jen at bugs be gone! She went out of her way to help my husband and I when we got cockroaches. When we found the first cockroach we weren’t sure what it was so I called bugs be gone based on their great Unilocal reviews. Jen was so nice and let me email her a picture of the dead bug so we could figure out if we had roaches. They got right back to me and unfortunately it was a roach. I freaked out, how did we get roaches? But Jen assured me that even clean people get them and explained everything about cockroaches to me. She answered my millions of questions (I had a lot of questions!) We have a baby and I was nervous about spraying. But she talked me through it and made us feel so comfortable with the whole process. And it is a process! I was stressed out having to box all of our stuff up and deep clean our house. Jen made this stressful situation so much easier.
On the day of the spray the man who showed up was so nice and professional. He was right on time and he explained more about the roaches to us and what kind they were. We felt very comfortable leaving him in our house to spray while we left for a couple of hours.
I am happy to say that we haven’t had to spray again since their first visit. They came out in May and sprayed and we have been bug free ever since! I cannot thank bugs be gone enough. They made a very stressful experience a lot easier to deal with and you can tell they genuinely care about what they do and their clients!

Bob came out and was super friendly and professional. We shot the sh*t as he was spraying my house and he talked me thru the process and chemicals — I was concerned for my dog and 3 month old baby in my belly.
