This review is only for my one phone conversation with one of the two owners. I called on a Sunday afternoon to get information on cross fit and how I can get started. He was very, very helpful and answered my questions honestly. I think I called his cell phone, so I don’t think he was at the gym, but he was patient with all of my concerns and questions. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to join the gym because of scheduling issues. They have a mandatory elements program — 4 classes people have to take to upon joining before attending regular classes, and my work schedule will not allow me to attend. But I was sold just from the one conversation I had with the owner.

I joined Crossfit Walnut Creek about six months ago and love it! Crossfit has always intimidated me and I was hesitant to join. Eric and Andrew were welcoming from the start.
Being a beginner and pretty weak, Andrew has been patient and has tailored workouts for my level. He is encouraging without pushing you too far out of your comfort zone. He is knowledgeable, safe and attentive. The work outs are tough and challenging, but very rewarding. I have seen progress in myself and feel great!
In addition to the awesome coaches at CFWC, the people/​members are amazing! They create a welcoming and encouraging environment that makes me look forward to going to work out. I highly recommend joining!

Eric and Andrew (the coaches) are simply the BEST. Words cannot express how much I love this box!
A few months ago, I tried out their free class on Saturday morning. At the time, I had no idea what to expect from the class, as I have never been to crossfit before. Eric was very knowledgeable and friendly. He briefly introduced crossfit to me and taught me some of the basics. We also did a 5-​minute WOD, which wiped me out! By the end of the class, I was convinced that THIS is the place to be if I want to be healthier, and immediately signed up for a 3-​month membership.
I know the classes are pricey, especially when compared to other gym memberships, but let me tell you — this is worth every penny. At my old gym, I used to simply hop on the elliptical and call it a day. I had no idea what I was doing and had no motivation to do more. At crossfit, this all changes. Eric and Andrew structure the class in a way that combines strength training with cardio, and the workouts are different every time to target different part of your body. They walk you through each and every movement, and they are always there when you need them (class size is capped!!). Furthermore, they tailor each movement to your ability. I was extremely weak when I first started, so they had to modify… basically everything for me. There was also a period of time when I injured my arm, but I was still able to attend all classes b/​c Andrew modified the workouts for me.
Lastly, Eric and Andrew also host some fun, optional things such as friendly crossfit competitions, and buying bulk meat together! My freezer is now well-​stocked with grass-​fed beef, and my husband is oh-​so-​happy =).

Simply put: this is a solid gym.
I been told that crossfit is too expensive especially when there is ample opportunity to join a gym like 24 hour fitness. I highly disagree with this viewpoint. Crossfit has been more of a lifestyle change than just getting in shape and there are several facets that make this a true statement.
First of all, Andrew and Eric (the coaches) are knowledgeable, educated, intelligent and kind hearted. They both want the best for their clients and will help their clients succeed in making the respective goals of the clients. At the same time they are resilient in making sure that the crossfit members push themselves to a point where the body is maxing out and all the while being very safe. (Its called a masters in kinesiology)
The second facet is crossfit itself. Crossfit incorporates good cardio and old school lifting. This is the best way a layman can explain crossfit. But there is also a brotherhood and sisterhood for the members. No matter what skill level a person might be at, the gym members only look at one thing when judging someone: Is this person showing up. Just get to the gym and try your best. Everyone else will be right there with you sweating away and just trying to get through the WOD.
Finally, the classes are capped. Thusly, Andrew makes sure that you get the personal attention required to do the lifts safely and properly. This type of coaching style is rewarding because you can feel the lift is correct and feels right when doing the lift properly.
I would recommend this crossfit gym to anybody looking to change their health for a lifetime

I have been crossfitting for about 9 months now. I LOVED my box in New Mexico, so I was very adamant, but also very apprehensive, about joining the one here. Long story short, I went in as a «drop-​in» one day, went home and joined as an unlimited month-​to-​month less than an hour later. Andrew is the most attentive coach I’ve ever met! And the sense of community that this box has introduced me to is incredible. If Unilocal would let me, I would give CFWC an unlimited amount of stars.

Swung in for two days while on a business trip from So Cal and was welcomed with open arms by Eric and Andrew. Nice sized facility, good selection of equipment, clean and well run. A lot of focus on properly warming up and getting your body ready for the WOD which I appreciated; had a serious sweat going before we even started «working out».
Solid gym, solid coaches, solid programming.

I’ve worked out at 24 hour fitness since high school but it’s just not as fun as Crossfit. I’ve been going here since November. At first I was reluctant to join because I thought it’d be this exclusive group of people who might not exactly be welcoming of newcomers, not the case! Everyone is really nice and I think it has a lot to do w the owners/​trainers, brothers Eric and Andrew. They are really nice to everybody no matter what experience level. The group is very positive and the workouts are great. It’s been about 7 months now since I joined, and I have no regrets, go 5x a week, strength has gone way up, mobility is improving. This crossfit emphasizes form, strength, and mobility a lot. Andrew and Eric are smart in that they will not rush you into a movement if you’re not ready for it. And they cap the classes so that there are not too many people in one session, which is huge. I’ve been to other crossfit gyms where there were 15 – 20 people in a class and little to no emphasis on correct form. Won’t happen here. Props to creating a fun environment w cool members and personalized training from knowledgable instructors that adhere to proper form! Going to CFWC is usually the highlight of my day. It’s well worth it

Crossfit anywhere is expensive, but once you TRY it you will find out why and it is up to you to decide if it’s WORTH your investment.
I will admit I have had some doubts about Crossfit because I have a share of friends who are a little too hardcore on Crossfit for my liking. I run half marathons though and I needed something new. Crossfit was definitely the answer as I’ve slowly built strength with this cross training.
Andrew and Eric are not sales people and they are not going to push you to sign up. You can do a class or two for free and you will see the people are Friendly and the work outs are INTENSE but adjusted accordingly to your age and ability. I’m 5’0,120 lbs (itty bitty) so if I can do it, anyone can!
P. S. No they are not a cult (for those who may have heard Crossfit can be Cult-​like)

I’ve been a member at multiple gyms, changing throughout based on work location or living location. That said, I’ve never been to a gym where the workers actually cared about me. Having used different personal trainers in the past, I have had numerous experiences with people with more letters after their name than in their name.
The thing is, Andrew & Eric genuinely know how your body is supposed to function, and they take the time to ensure that you perform the moves correctly for a) your safety and b) to see your results!
Having switched to this gym from another «fancy» gym in Walnut Creek, it took me a while to get used to the hammer swings, tires and to see what a «box» was. No towel service and no treadmills, but the most amazing workouts I have ever had. I strive to attend every class I can, and love the competition against others, and more importantly, myself. Having my personal bests recorded allows me to really see my gains.
In short, for every class I attend I feel better about myself, and that’s when working out and being healthy becomes a lifestyle. Give them a try and I guarantee you will enjoy it.

I absolutely love Walnut Creek Cross fit. As a older women pushing 60 years of age I felt a little nervous going to inquire about cross fit. Coach Andrew was so incredibly kind and informed me that they could accommodate my fitness needs and customize program that will work for me. I look forward to every class. It is so much fun. I already notice a difference in how I feel, my energy levels and the incredibly great night sleep I am achieving. Everyone is so nice and helps encourage me.

After the last three days working out at CrossFit Walnut Creek, I am so pleased with my decision to join this gym. The gym offers 2 free classes to really let the consumer get all you can handle about what the gym is all about. The trainers Andrew and Eric personally guide you through proper mobility and training techniques for each lift with every new workout. Also The feel inside the box is so personal and Andrew and Eric are there motivating and pushing you to limits you didn’t think were possible.
If you are the kind of person who wants to push themselves or just maintain a healthy body and mind then I strongly recommend coming to CrossFit Walnut Creek and giving it a try!

Andrew and Eric are genuinely great people, deliver awesome service as a CrossFit and provide a competitive price structure that offers quality coaching. The results their clients are seeing should be proof enough and one you should base your reviews and opinions on.
The affiliates in the the area provide amazing results when you actually go through the program and stick to it. If you set a high standard for your fitness goals then cost is irrelevant.

Eric and Andrew are welcoming and are great instructors. It was my first time taking cross fit and after two classes here, I can see why people love it here. The classes are great because they tailor the sessions for all levels, whether you are advanced or a beginner. Everyone is warm and friendly and the classes are a lot of fun. the best part is feeling the burn the day after :)

I wanted to check out Crossfit in the beginning of September. I found Crossfit Walnut Creek online and decided to take one of their free classes. Andrew and Eric are both very nice and welcoming to their box. After my first workout i was hooked. I started attending classes 3 times a week. I have almost doubled my performance and competed in my first Crossfit competition with Andrew in the beginning of December and had a blast. I am training with Andrew 5 times a week now and he has helped me tremendously with my goals. I have worked out off and on for 20 plus years and within the past 5 years i have struggled with my weight and trying to reduce my body fat. After 90 days i see my muscles developing, i am stronger, more confident as a person and am a overall happier person; ready to take on any challenge life has to throw at me. I have never experienced a better workout then Crossfit and Andrew will help you achieve your fitness goals. I will be training here for a very long time.

I am really impressed with the guys at Crossfit Walnut Creek. I came from a gym in Marin, so I have some experience with crossfit and this is a fantastic gym. Andrew, the main instructor, is excellent. He has a thorough understanding of body mechanics and kinesiology. He takes time to coach you individually and really invests himself in helping you get stronger and reach your goals. I have some old injuries and Andrew has been awesome with tailering specific movments to maximize efficiency while preventing injury.
The space itself is really clean and comfortable. The only downside is the parking can be a challenge, but the downtown location makes up for it. No matter what your skill level or athletic experience is, I highly recommend giving it a try. There is nothing like it.

I am a beginner and I found it easy and comfortable to walk into this gym. I love the group warmups and the instruction. They are a great gym for the beginner, intermediate and expert. They are new in town and need some support! At least stop by and check it out if you have an interest.
