I have been using CSE for my home and car insurance for years! When I had a claim on my home insurance they were there for me every step of the way and handled it with ease.
I have recommended CSE to all my family and friends and they also are very happy as well.

NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM!!!

These guys are the best!!! They spend $ 0 on TV commercials, so there rates are great! I got ‘Geico’d’ before, I wound up paying for stupid TV commercials, and I got screwed on my claim. Will never make that mistake again. I recommend CSE to everybody, they do a great job, and the customer service is great. I got mine through Chris at WESTERN GOLD INSURANCE. Give you a discount if ever a civil servant or military.

First, CSE did not transmit my last payment info for my two cars to the DMV.
Secondly, the DMV did not react kindly to that, so they want to suspend the license on both of my cars.
Thirdly, now the fun part… I tried calling CSE to report this, but their Customer Service line does not answer. I called twice and waited on hold 15 minutes both times.
Next, (yes, more humor coming)…I called into Sales, and someone answered in one ring. I explained my situation, and the nice lady said she would transfer me to Customer Service. «But, you know, our systems were down last week, so they are just swamped there in customer service.» Not my problem, transfer me. (here goes)…after several rings I was transferred to some automated payment system, where the computer wanted my account number and the amount I wanted to pay… No No, I want to complain to a human.
Next, I called back for the 4^th or 5^th time, and again got someone in sales in one ring. She apologized for the phone problems, but reiterated that the computers have been down and that’s probably why the DMV did not get your info, and why you can’t get to customer service today. So I’m thinking, geez, could the DMV actually be monitoring payments that closely? My last payment to CSE was on 7/​19, the DMV letter was received on ⁸⁄₁₁

Ok, after a bumpy start the insurance company redeemed itself and now they are being efficient and reliable after a claim. Too bad one unreliable employee at the start of my interactions stopped me from giving them 5 stars.
After filing a claim and being ignored for a while, they are now giving me excellent customer service.

Don’t purchase a commercial policy with this company. You will have zero ability to manage your policy online due to mysterious errors that even their «IT department» can’t solve. You also can’t pay by phone for a commercial policy unless you wait on hold for a representative. Good luck with that, because I called in today at 4:50 p.m. and the automated system refused to transfer me to a human, stating they were closed. Not according to their posted hours! Must be nice to work 50 minutes and be paid for 60.

I recently had a stage 3 flood in my house which is sewage. Now my insurance company CSE and my adjuster are saying that they will not replace my travertine tile that is a natural stone and is prose and they said that it can be cleaned but how can you extract sewage from all those holes in the tile. Another issue is that they will not replace my carpets in my bedrooms and only in the hallways but my carpet was uniform through out the house and now it’s discontinued with the manufacture and will not find a matching carpet and the new carpet will not be able to be seamed with the old carpet. Also in many articles about stage 3 floods state everything that is touched by sewage has to be replaced because of the contamination. The articles also state that there can be a long term affects with the tile not being replaced can cause many illnesses. I believe that this can cause many health issues for my family and kids. I believe that my house should be put back to the continued carpet and not to be indemnifying when you open the bedroom doors which are also always open cause of my two children. I have also contacted my adjuster twice and I have not had a response back. This goes to show you that this insurance company and adjuster at CSE don’t care about there customers and there family’s how can you not do anything.

I called to get information on my policy before deciding whether or not to process a claim for a leak in my roof. I was first transferred to their customer service dept who told me they cannot help answer my questions, they transferred me to the claims dept. The next person I spoke with in the claims dept sent me to yet another person in the dept to start a claim. I then explained that I just want information on my policy so I was once again transferred to customer service… who told me yet again they cannot help me. In total, I was transferred 4 times, spoke with 5 people who told me that they could not answer my questions. All I wanted was information about my policy (deductible and how their process works). I am very disappointed and will be looking for a different home owners insurance provider.

When my home flooded over the holidays it was a very traumatic event and one of the worst possible times. The claim started out a bit rocky due to timing and 3d party providers. And it could have been a complete disaster if it were not for CSE and my claims examiner, Deana Weiss. From the moment Deana became involved I felt like someone was truly concerned and trying to help my family to recover from this loss. Deana is amazing and I’m very grateful for everything she has done. She is professional, proactive, concerned, followed up, helpful, and made sure we were ok every step of the way. Both CSE and Deana have made me a vocal advocate for CSE Insurance. I don’t think I’ve ever promoted an insurance company in my life but have evangelized my exceptional experience and service to many, many friends and colleagues. Several who had similar events with their home but experienced very different responses from their insurers. When I tell them the quality of care I received from CSE, they are genuinely impressed, and a bit jealous, and have asked how to contact the company.
I want to thank Deana and CSE for the quality of we received. Superior service is not something commonly associated with homeowner’s insurance but Deana and CSE were the exception. I am a devoted customer!

I have progressive car insurance. I hate to say this but this CSE insurance company is horrible. I was involved in a hit and run car accident on the freeway by their insured driver. I actually chased him down and got the license plate number. Needless to say his adjuster Elizabeth Fong is horrible to deal with. And has horrible people communication skills. Basically what I’m saying is I was in the right and their Insured driver was in the wrong. Both my insurance companies are not working together as the CSE insurance adjuster is being difficult. This is going to have to involve a lawyer. I would watch out with this company.

I filed a claim with CSE after a recent hit and run accident. I didn’t know what to expect because I didn’t get the other driver’s license number. I did have the exact make, model, and color of the car but when I called the CHP to file an accident report they told me without the license number of the other car not to bother. It concerned me not to have a police report in hand for my next call to CSE but when I contacted them they told me I didn’t need it and worked quickly to expedite my claim. Ashley Mora the Claims Adjustor, Jeanette Stevenson in the Total Loss department, and even the appraiser (sorry I don’t remember your name) were all great from start to finish. They were very straight forward and friendly with me and while I was sad to see my totaled car towed away forever they made the whole process easy.

I filed my first insurance claim ever for a stolen ring and was denied after the claims agent attempted to sway me with «well do you really feel it was stolen or did you just lose it» Since I can’t prove someone stole it I answered honestly «I don’t know that but I went back and checked exactly where I left it 30 min later and it was gone» Then she quickly claimed «well if it wasn’t stolen than the ring is not covered I am closing this case» and hung up. I’m pretty disappointed with this, as I pay over $ 900 a year which includes their so-​called «safeguard plus» and should cover jewelry in this case. By the way, we are talking about a $ 115 ring, nothing in terms of average claims I’m sure but this concerns me and have no faith in dealing with the company if I actually had some serious home damage, looks like I will be calling other companies for quotes asap.

I was without a kitchen for seven weeks after flooding destroyed the floor and most of the lower cabinets.
My claim was assigned to Raul who quickly and appropriately took care of everything. I was even compensated for my food expenses while my kitchen was being rebuilt.
Overall, I’m very happy with the way things were handled and will continue to do business with CSE.

I had a claim for water damage. Spoke with Amy, she refused to send an adjuster because of my deductible was high. After a week, they finally decided to send one. He came, took bunch of pictures of my neighbors homes (???)and left. Eventually we received a letter that we are not covered for any water damages that happened in our home for a bunch of reasons. I have several rental properties and I had those issues before, never have I been denied for my water damage loss. This was my first year with this insurance because they gave me an unbeatable quote, but I guess live and learn and NEVER get CSE. This is one scam company.

we had a water damage at our home on Oct 16 2012. the damages were in the kitchen that affected a base cabinet and our wood floor’s were told by our adjuster to go and get estimates for repairs. note adjuster are out sourced. so we got a flooring contractor out to see if floor could be repaired and tied in to existing unaffected floors. contractor said it could not be done that the whole floor would have to be replaced CSE insurance agreed to replacement of floor. when it came to cabinets and tile counter tops this becomes our nightmare. for starters the adjuster said right off the start that they are hired by the insurance company. and that its his job to try to save the insurance company money on repairs. so when it came to the cabinet repair estimates all cabinet contractors including the original cabinet maker for our home all said the same thing. the only way to get a close match to existing cabinets is to alter the cabinet that would be rebuilt with stain. but that would be a short fix as the rest of the cabinets would continue to age its natural shade and the new one would not. CSE adjuster said that’s not true that they just want to sell me new cabinets. so CSE told us to get estimate for refinishing. take it its now January we were referred to furniture medic for refinishing as they work with all the major insurance companies with like claims as ours. it was very shocking to know that this company has never heard of my Insurance company and could not believe how long of a process our claim is taking. the estimate came in a little less then replacing all cabinets. its been 4 months since our damage and nothing has been done. we have decided to put our kitchen back ourselves. we are venting because we feel the consumers looking for home owners insurance although the policy coverage looks great on paper. trying to use it is a nightmare with our experience with CSE insurance

cse does have fair rates, but when you work as an agent… they are terrible.
their computer system is the worst thing ever purchased by a company. the programmer must not know a thing about insurance.
then you have to explain to the customer why policy changes or misc. things have not been completed. because the computer system sucks.
i feel better now. it is hard to get work done when you have to try to navigate such a complicated system.
