Absolute great service from Scott. Such a genuine guy and super honest and fair. Stopped by in the morning with a minor emergency with my aftermarket exhaust hitting the driveshaft and crossmember. Scott told me to drop of the car and he would have it fixed by 5pm same day. Most other shops around didnt have time for emergencies but Scott was able to help out. Very detailed oriented and didnt want to let me leave before everything was lined up and adjusted.
I still have a tiny leak but told me to come back later this week for a welding.
And his prices are beyond reasonable.

Best auto service I have ever dealt with. The prices are better than when I have a friend work on my car. Scott is honest, fast, and skilled. Don’t let the name discount muffler and brake fool you because he’s done other types of work on my truck such as axel and suspension replacement and door lock repair. He also did my brakes and they work better than new.

Another believer in this shop. This welding wizard is a gem of a guy and does excellent work. He has installed a «specialty» hitch, electric brakes on my vehicles and even was able to weld together my sons bunk bed ladder. Kudos to this man and his shop!

I recently took my Pathfinder to get a tow hitch put on with Scott and cannot recommend DM&B more. The project was a little more complicated given that the trailer needed electrical work. I also got estimates from three other «brand-​name» companies. The price was reasonable, and he clearly knew what he was doing more than two of the other guys. Scott is a great guy: honest, straightforward and very skilled. It’s always refreshing to bring your vehicle and know that it is in good hands.

Been taking my vehicles to Scott for over 12 years for breaks… Scott is the best! Honest and great prices, I recommend this place to anyone needing break replacement.
Latest experience: Took my car to a local Toyota dealership for routine maintenance… they let me know I’ll need my rear brakes changed soon and gave me a quote of approx $ 330. I tell them no thanks, I have a guy I always go to for breaks…$ 205 later my breaks are replaced and couldn’t ask for a better job.
Take your vehicle here, you won’t be disappointed!

Scott does excellent work and is very smart about delivering the most effective repair for your vehicle.
My New England ’03 Tacoma was going to need many thousands of repairs for a badly rusted exhaust system. Scott replaced the bad parts in one day at way less than ½ of the dealer price and knew exactly what to replace and what parts were good to keep (This can be tricky with today’s emission control requirements). A lot of shops wanted to replace every single part or were going to have to replace by trial and error. Scott knew exactly how to proceed — a very smart guy…
Its great that Walnut Creek area has a reliable shop like Scott’s Discount Muffler.

Have a small trailer and needed a small hitch welded on the back for a bike carrier only. Met with Scott, he got on the ground, looked at my steel chasis, had some diologue on the best way to make this happen, gave me a fair price, and had the work done within a business week. Am I grateful for Unilocal.Without Unilocal,I never would have had the pleasure of doing business with an honest and legitimate mechanic. Scott not only fixed my exhaust leak, but he also advised me of some loose motor mounts.
I dropped my car off at 10am, and I was able to have the exhaust leak repaired and the motor mounts re-​aligned by 4:30pm. My commuter runs like a champ again! Thanks Scott for your timely and honest service. Definitely going back for future repairs. Reasonable prices, too!

I recently had Discount Mufflers & Brakes install two required mufflers on my 1981 380SL Mercedes Benz. He does excellent work and at a fair /​reasonable price. He ordered the parts and installed it the following week. Scott, the owner, can be trusted to provide reliable excellent work. He also repaired my muffler on my other vehicle, a 2001 Honda Odyssey at prices far below the dealer. I highly recommend his shop for all muffler needs!!!

I brought my old car there many years ago and was told my brakes were fine, although another mechanic told me I needed new pads right away or a crash was in my future, I never forgot the honesty and was glad to see the good reviews on Unilocal,when I recently brought my car in Scott told me I still had 20% left on my pads and could wait awhile before they needed to be replaced, I deceided to go ahead and get them done and he did a great job. I love honest people!
