Friendly Cab

I hate writing bad reviews, but fellow Unilocal-​ers be warned… My friend and I hopped in a Super cab at the Lafayette BART station. We felt horrible because our destination was literally a two-​minute drive, but we had bags so walking wasn’t an option. The guy insisted on putting the address in his nav, but we kept telling him it wasn’t necessary because it was a short drive and we knew how to get there. When we got there, he kept the meter running while telling us some BS story about his daughter. When I finally told him to turn off the meter, he played dumb and I didn’t tip him at all. Then, when I checked my credit card statement I saw that the guy charged me $ 75. It couldn’t have been more than a $ 10 – 15 ride, so thanks buddy, but I will be getting my money back.

Used the cab from Walnut Creek to my home. We get home and the guy says he doesn’t take VISA or Mastercard, (his office was closed, hmmmmm). We had to next go to the ATM to draw money and added another $ 15.00 to my tab. Don’t you think he should have a sign on the window «no visa» and/​or tell the passenger when they get in. Lame and weak. Scam and a rip-​off. BE SURE TO CHECK BEFORE YOU GET IN THE CAB IF THEY TAKE VISA OR NOT.

Super Cab was the only taxi company in Walnut Creek that could pick me up at 5:30 on Monday morning on a short notice. The driver was new to the area and was actually 5 min late but kept me informed on his whereabouts and made sure he got me to the train station on time. Great service!

Horrible, they never picked us up, kept saying they were 2min away and never showed. I live 2 minutes from main street and
They never even had the common curtsy to call… Horrible company to say the very least!

My original plan was to walk the half an hour walk from Pleasant Hill Bart to my work, but I was late. It was 2:50 and I had to be at work by 3. Left with no option, I opted for a cab and chose the first one in the line – Super Cab.
I sat down and told him where I was going and he immediately started lecturing to me walk there instead. «It’s so close! I show you where, you see. Gaahhhhh, don’t know why you don’t walk there! Everyone else walks there, why don’t you?! Can’t believe I waited TWO HOURS and TEN MINUTES for THIS?!» Mind you, he was lecturing me nearly 85% of the time. The other 15% was him muttering to himself about how stupid this all was. My total came up to be $ 6.50 and I did not give a tip.
I should’ve just come late to work.

Super cab is again under new ownership. New drivers, all friendly and respectful. We apologize for past drivers and owners and ask that you give us one more chance. We, the new owners, promise we not tolerate rudeness from our drivers. We also are now offering gift certificates for the holidays.

This cab company has the most rude drivers I have ever encountered. The drivers are unsafe and belligerent. Life is too short so if these people are really unhappy with what they do, the should find a new vocation. I had one driver heading south on 680 refuse to let another driver merge and almost hit the other car simply because he did not want to allow the merging car in despite the fact that the cab driver was in the far left (i.e., the merging) lane. I will never use this company.

When I was in a panic trying to find my wallet that I had left in a cab, this company was nice enough to ask me what cab company I had used, and since I obviously did not know, they asked which color my cab was and to describe the driver. As soon as I told him the cab color, he told me which company it was and who the driver most likely was. That was extremely helpful because then I knew who to call and when I called I could say who the driver was. Thank you!

I hate trashing a business, I really do. But, after my last unpleasant experience with not-​so-​Super Cab, I decided it was time. I must add, when they were owned and operated by the previous guy, I adored them. The owner was a good friend; all the drivers were friendly and courteous. I happily became a regular. Now that he’s sold the business and drives for another company, the whole operation has gone down the toilet.
Now, I despise taking a taxi from Pleasant Hill Bart because I only live about 1.5 miles away and the drivers get serious ‘tude with me because I’m not going to Danville, or Alamo or up in the hills for a big old fare. Maybe they can blame the County Connection bus system for ceasing to run after 8 p.m. and being an hour apart when they are running. But, no, the idiots take it out on me every time, despite the fact that I’m an excellent tipper, usually leaving 30%-40% because I feel bad that my fare isn’t higher!
This time I hop into a cab, about 9:30 p.m., no bus, and after a 14 hour day, no way am I walking to save the driver a little bit of unpleasantness. The second I sat down, the most overwhelming, vile odor of B.O. assaulted my senses! It was nauseating and I instantly got a giant headache. I tell him where I’m going, and in response I get a big sigh. I roll my window down and off we go. I’m reveling in the blessed fresh air when a block or two later he rolls my window up! What, because he was cold?!? I just about died and breathed through my mouth for the rest of the thankfully short trip. My fare was just under $ 6.00, I handed him a $ 10 and asked for $ 2 back. Notice I was giving him a 35% tip. He tells me, he only has a dollar. I say nothing for a moment, when finally he offers to give me change. I wait patiently in the hideous smell for my warm, sweaty handful of nickels. Finally, I hop out into the delicious cool night air and head up to my apartment, to wash my hands, take some Advil and breathe clean, fresh air once again.

Rude and disrespectful. Tonight, after discovering I had missed my bus, I opted to take a cab from Walnut Creek BART Station since it was dark outside, incidentally ending up in a Super Cab. I tried forgetting my previous not so kosher experiences with them, purely for the sake of needing to get home ASAP. Unfortunately, when we reached my destination, I discovered I only had enough cash to cover my fare– which slowly ticked to a grand total of $ 6.50. Granted, not a HUGE fare, yet I’m still a paying customer. After I handed the driver $ 7.00, he stared at it for a few seconds. then proceeded to raise his voice considerably and, with much attitude, declared, «NO, I DON’T NEED YOUR BULLSHIT,» and shelled out 0.50 and thrust it in my direction. His tone of voice was reminiscent of when I’d fight with old immature boyfriends and/​or my younger brother. What?!
Just so you know, I’m usually one to be generous with tips (as anyone who has worked in a tip driven industry usually is) and sometimes you get good ones and sometimes you simply don’t. I was shocked to say the least. Shocked and exhausted from my long day. Chose to take the «high road». After apologizing for the fact I couldn’t leave him a fair tip (and thanking him in appreciation for doing his job), I calmly asked why he was yelling at me, which he denied he was. Knowing it would go nowhere, I left. Upon exiting the cab, he hastily sped off, leaving the sound of squealing tires in the air. Seriously, there are just too many other cab services in this area to deal with THIS kind of bullsh*t.
Super Cab? More like Super CRAP.
