Jay Voorhees is the founder of JVM Lending. Mr. Voorhees started his career in corporate finance after graduating from law school, but quickly transitioned to the mortgage industry and never looked back. With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Voorhees has personally originated over $ 1 billion in mortgage loans.

Responding to the mortgage meltdown in 2008, Mr. Voorhees restructured JVM to meet the needs of a vastly changed industry. He eliminated loan officers from his company, and instead built an extensive training program and implemented far more demanding hiring standards.

Mr. Voorhees is very proud of his team’s exceptional talent, his firm’s extraordinarily responsive service levels, and JVM’s fastest closing times in the industry. Mr. Voorhees is especially proud of JVM’s enormous number of Five-​Star Yelp reviews.

Jay and his team make buying a home for first time home buyers a breeze. From that first call I had with Jay I already knew he’s a top notch expert in the space that is in this business because he enjoys it, and not because he’s here for money.
His whole team, specifically Jenna and Madeline, are such a pleasure to work with. I used to be a marketer for a customer service product so I know when I see good customer service. The whole team over at JVM really gets it. It’s not the fact that they are professional, polite, and responsive but it’s the fact that they really understand their customers. Their passion to help their customers succeed is what sets their service apart.
JVM was able to close my house in 20 days (including weekends!) and in such a crazy competitive environment like this — speed is crucial. I was lucky enough to only have 5 offers I was competing with (I know people have to deal with 10 – 20 offers during crazy times like these), mine stood out because of my agent and JVM. I know Jay even went above and beyond to call the seller’s agent and help turn things in my favor.

It’s hard to know where to begin singing my praises about the team at JVM.
My wife and I were first time home buyers, not savvy in any way, and we are also low to middle class, in other words JVM wasn’t going to make much –if any– money working with us. None of this gave JVM pause. From start to finish they treated us like their number one clients.
We fell in love with a little house that had been purchased by a developer for it’s large lot. The developer built 2 townhouses behind our little house and because of this the title was a bit of a mess. There were many bumps in the road, but JVM didn’t waiver. We asked them to please get our house closed by Christmas (about a month after we started the process), Heejin said they would try their best. I’m typing this review from our new home that we signed on 8 days before Christmas — plenty of time to move in and get our decorations up!
The entire team responded to emails at all hours of the day and night, always happy to help and ON IT. Heejin was a dream to talk to on the phone, one of this kindest and most intelligent people I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. Everyone we worked with was patient as they guided us through the process for our first home.
If you are looking for a team to really get things done fast with no hassle these are the people for you, no question. Oh I also forgot to mention that when there was an issue (on the seller’s side) that caused us to have to push back our closing date, Heejin paid the cost to extend the hold on our interest rate out of her own pocket, she also offered to pay other costs for us should they arise because of the delay.

JVM has made me a believer. As a boomerang buyer, dealing with my bank and a national online lender caused me to lose hope. From the moment my realtor introduced us to Jay and his team, we knew we were in good hands and would be able to purchase our dream home. My realtor recommended them as they are locally known and respected, professional and just having their letterhead included in an offer makes it so much stronger.
As this was not my first rodeo in the homeownership game, it was definitely the smoothest ride because of the team I worked with. Jay called me back on a Sunday night at 8pm when he got my first email. He introduced me to their amazing teammate Jenna who guided us through several challenges in the most professional and reassuring manner. Her communication was excellent and she had us approved in no time. Once we were in contract, Alex took over seamlessly and got us closed in 21 days. 21 days for an FHA loan with these crazy new TRID rules seemed impossible, but being holiday season, that 21 day close is ultimately what got us the house!

I wanted to say a big thank you to Heejin, Jay, Jenna, Chingchi and the rest of the team that make up JVM Lending.
I am a realtor based in the East Bay and I continue to be impressed by the extra steps they go through to get the best deal for their clients. It does not matter if its a loan for a $ 300,000 dollar condo to a multi-​million mansion, everyone gets the same
first class service and they all close the loans on time. They are able to fix unforeseen problems that can pop up during a transaction that the Big lender banks like Wells Fargo and B of A will get and grind to a halt
Jay and Heejin run a seven day mortgage business and can be reached on weekends which is not a service offered by most lenders.
I would recommend JVM Mortgage to anyone who is contemplating taking out a mortgage or a refinance.

Wow, what an amazing group to work with. We went from qualifying for $ 800k in purchasing power (and having to sell our condo to qualify) with other lenders, to $ 925k and we got to keep the condo that we currently own and closed in 21 days. The whole team was on top of it and move as fast as you can return the paperwork. The guided us through the whole process, set expectations and met them. We are so glad that we JVM was recommended by our real estate agent, Daniel Winker (who is also 5 star worthy) and even happier that we are in our new house. Loan officers are kind of like Realtors: their services don’t necessarily vary greatly, but the competency with which it is delivered does.
That said, when I was a new Realtor, Heejin Kim and Koko Gibbons at JVM were EXTRAORDINARILY helpful in making me aware of new loan products (did you know you can put 10% down, leverage that 10% as a Home Equity Line of Credit, and avoid paying hundreds a month in Private Mortgage Insurance? Once upon a time, I didn’t).
Their commitment to service is likely costly, as they don’t cut corners, but they likely make it up with referrals and volume. Definitely the type of business you’re EXCITED to send friends, clients and colleagues to, and they get my whole-​hearted recommendation. Would give 10 stars if I could.

Heejin and team at JVM Lending did a great job taking care of me during my recent new home purchase. My file was complex, with an error o and family about the home, jaws dropped when I mentioned a 14-​day close. Now, In my credit report, that Heejin’s team went above and beyond to fix. Almost immediately after the fix came through, I found my dream home and was able to buy with a 14 day close.

Having the team at JVM on your side when you’re going through the mortgage process is a huge advantage in the game. We were able to secure a house in the competitive Bay Area housing market due to their ability to both promise and deliver on a 10-​day close. Jay was helpful from the beginning and asked all the right questions on the first call; he was available at any time via cell phone to us and our realtor for last-​minute questions. Erin patiently answered numerous questions and provided many different loan scenarios to us. Alex was also prompt with documents and made sure that we understood everything that we were signing. I had a great experience working with JVM on my first house purchase this fall. I really had minimal knowledge about this entire process and Jay and his team were very patient with me, explaining each step thoroughly until they were sure I fully understood everything and was comfortable moving forward.
The home-​buying process was definitely complex but working with Jay and his team really took the stress out of it as I knew that I could always get a very prompt and thorough response with any questions that came up. I also need to mention that they got us an amazing rate locked in with additional credits from the lender so going with them proved to be a very financially prudent move.
I would definitely recommend anyone who is looking for a mortgage to work with JVM, I certainly will again in the future.
