Mariya has been my stylist since 2008 and I have never had any complaints or problems with her service. I have done everything from coloring, highlighting, Keratin straightening. Mariya listens and cares about what you want. She is always open for discussing different ideas and always has good suggestions. She treats every individual client as that: individual and suggest styles and colors that works best for your life style. She never pressures you into doing something you are not comfortable with. I trust her so much that I sometimes let her «play» with my hair. She always tells me that if I was not happy, she will change or fix it until I am happy. To be honest, I have never been «Unhappy» with her and her work. Once you find that special person that can take good care of you and your hair, you never want to go to anyone else. Mariya also uses highest quality hair colors and products. She constantly researches and stays updated on all latest hair products. Her products are healthier and higher quality than any other salon I have been to in the past. She is very professional and sweet and friendly. I always looks forward to my appointments with her.

I got partial highlights and a haircut this past weekend. My highlights turned out very stripy and like zebra stripes on the top of my head! It looked as if my hair were a black and white striped shirt. I had asked for natural, blended highlights and got the opposite. Very unhappy and ended up going to another salon the very next day to get it fixed.

Virginia Rafie is an outstanding colorist and skilled design technician. She can do trendy cutting-​edge, traditional, or blended updated styles. Having worked in a San Francisco society salon as well as with Financial District career women, she commands a broad range of looks. She interprets and updates styles that work with your hair type. I love that she asks how the last cut worked before starting on a new one.
Virginia also has her own salon next to Wilkes Bashford in the city. She is gracious, flexible and concerned to know your lifestyle and desires before starting. I have horrible, thin hair, requiring meticulous cutting and extremely careful color and highlighting, She is patient, proficient and an outstanding professional. 925−550−0954

This is the best Hairsalon I has ever been to! The staff are very professional and I never walked away unsatisfied. Mariya does an excellent job of hair coloring and cuts. Located in the heart of walnut creek this salon has a parking structure right across the street and on the adjacent public streets as well. Easy walking distance to broadway shops. You cannot pass up the opportunity to try this salon. High quality work!

Do NOT go to Ellen, she incredibly rude and if she doesn’t care for the length or texture of your hair she will just dismiss you. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere and absolutely do not buy the groupon.

Got a facial with Glycolic peel. Dana did a fantastic job!!! Easily the BEST facial I ‘ve ever gotten. European quality all the way. Dana is very knowledgeable and she is quite a joy to work with. My skin was literarily glowing. She even came up with a long term plan to address my skin concerns. No one is touching my face other than Dana from now on.

This salon is great and has talented people. Every employee at La Perle is great at their job. I have been going to Mariya for more than three years, and she is an expert in color, restorative treatments and hair styles. I have tried many hair colors over the last couple of years and each time they were perfect.

I visited La perle today for my appointment with Ellen. First and foremost she is a very accommodating person, she was very helpful in setting up a convenient time for me. Then she always kept me informed about any changes. And her talented hands! This lady is a genius. She took her time to totally transform me today! From haircut to highlights everything was perfect! She know what she is doing. Will definitely visit her again. Thanks again Ellen.

Wow too many bad reviews for Ellen… No one has returned my calls in 3 days. I should have done my research. Definitely getting a refund by Groupon. Don’t have time to waste my time with bad service.

I bought a groupon for a deep conditioning treatment and haircut with Ellen. Didn’t get the deep conditioning, but I didn’t really mind. Haircut was proficient and very fast, but I definitely don’t believe that it was worth the $ 75 their website and groupon claim it’s worth. It was not a diPietro Todd experience, but it was worth the groupon price.

I found Le Perle through Groupon and purchased what I thought was a great deal. I paid for a full set of eyelashes plus a 2-​week fill. Scheduling the appointment was easy enough. I called twice but could not leave a voice message because the voice mailbox was full. I received a call back about an hour after my second attempt to call and scheduled the appointment. I arrived for my appointment about five minutes early but wasn’t seen until about 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. I pointed out to Marina that my I’ve been waiting for 20 minutes and I have a tight schedule to keep– she apologized and said she wouldn’t take too long. My eyelashes were finished in about 45 minutes and looked very natural, thin, but I had no choice but to best try to keep up with my busy schedule that day. I thanked Marina, tipped her, scheduled an appointment for my 2-​week fill, and continued with my day. 3 days later, my eyelashes looked like they needed a fill. I called multiple times, left messages, and even emailed but did not receive a response for 4 days. When I finally received call and explained that my lashes became noticeably lean after only 3 days, I was told that my 2-​week appointment is only a week away and asked if I could wait until then. Of course I explained that my eyelashes should not need fixing this soon and I would prefer not to wait. Appointment was scheduled for the following day. The eyelash fill took about 40 minutes– 5 minutes less than the full set and they looked great. I tipped Marina and then was asked if I wanted to scheduled a 3-​week fill and told how much it would cost. This was shocking to me, but I am not the type to cause a scene.
Marina is talented and the end result was eyelashes that look great. This is the reason for only 2 stars:
1) Marina was 20 minutes late to my appointment, then rushed and used too few lashes
2) My eyelashes looked like they need a fill after 3 days (I’ve had eyelash extensions many times and this has never happened).
3) It took 4 days and many attempts to reach Marina for her to return my call (I left multiple VMs at two different phone numbers and also emailed).
4) I paid for a Groupon for one FULL set of lashes and ONE 2-​WEEK FILL. I received a semi– full set that required fixing after 3 days. I was shocked that returning to have my eyelashes fixed counted as a 2-​week fill. That’s not okay.
Marina seems nice and had my experience been different, I would be excited about returning to the salon. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Ellen cut and highlighted my hair about a week ago and I am very happy with the results. The cut is great and the highlights look very natural. I am always a little nervous when going to someone for the first time, however with only a little description and no picture Ellen did exactly what I wanted! She did such a natural subtle job with the highlights, next time I plan to go a little lighter. I will be coming back.

I saw Ellen this morning at La Perle for a cut and highlight… Was my first time there, and she did a great job. I haven’t had highlights in some time as I’ve had some bad experiences in the past… But she was careful to keep them natural and soft as I had asked for. She’s very easy-​going, listens carefully to the client and uses her intuition to cut and color to perfection. Thanks Ellen! :-) I’ll definitely come in again soon.

I got my haircut at this salon by Ellen and I was really happy with how it turned out. Would definitely recommend going here!

I am so confused… what are these other people complaining about Ellen for? I came in today for a cut and highlights, and it was my first time to this salon and first time meeting Ellen. I explained what I wanted (A-​line bob with «light» highlights), and she nailed it. I’m always nervous getting my hair cut (especially this time, since I was donating my hair again and it was going to be a big change), but I could immediately tell she knew what she was doing. I am a control freak, I know it, so it’s hard for me to sit still and let someone else be in charge of something. Ellen explained what she was doing on each step and told me repeatedly that if it didn’t look like what I wanted, she would re-​do it (which, of course she didn’t need to do).
The salon is so cute and clean, and all the staff there were very welcoming and friendly.
Everyone has commented on my hair and I LOVE it! All I have to say is, thank God I didn’t read these Unilocal before coming in, or I would have missed out on her. For all you haters out there, you will regret it later when you are dying for an appointment with her and me and all my friends have snatched them up. Ellen, you’ve earned a life-​time customer today!

This review is for Ellen for a highlight and haircut-​a very negative experience. I walked in and she immediately started mixing color without asking me what I wanted. «You want to go as blonde as possible, right?» Well I didn’t, but didn’t feel I had a choice. Her highlight is streaky and far from the root, even though I specified as close as possible. For my haircut all I wanted was a little trim and asked to keep my hair as long as possible. Instead of listening to «only a tiny bit of layers» she decided to do what she wanted and hacked about 6 inches off for the shortest layer. So much for long hair. :(she was also not friendly and criticized my hair throughout the process.
Ps. I should mention I bought a groupon for this experience. Lesson learned!
I received a text message from the salon (which they added below, I did not notice until now). In response to the salon, I told them:
I have never written a review for a hair stylist. I do not know where you are being misinformed, but i have never written a review for hair, let alone a bad one. Second of all, I left a big tip because that’s what you should do for a groupon and I wanted to get the hell out of there.
I thought I was clear that I wanted to keep my hair as long as possible and didn’t want much layers at all. I said that at least 2 or 3 times. If you had looked at my face at all when you were hacking 6 inches off for the layers, you would have seen I was not happy or calm about it. It will take me a full year to grow it back out when all I wanted was a trim. Also, I can send you a picture of my hair afterward. I would not call half an inch of roots and a color I don’t want «beautiful hair.»
Also, I was not 30 minutes late, I was 15 minutes late, and had called the salon and your cell to inform you. I am sorry I was late, but I tried to get there as quickly as possible. More importantly, you had told me when we made the appointment that it would take at least 2 and a half hours, yet you scheduled someone else 2 hours after mine.

Marina did an amazing job! My eyelashes look real and I no longer have to use mascara. I purchased a groupon with a refill in two weeks. The receptionist gives you her cell phone number to call her and schedule and appointment. After you schedule your appointment you will receive text message reminder and an appointment confirmation. Marina is very busy so you will have to schedule a few weeks out.

Hair Stylist Maria is very professional and lovely friendly people. I’m always happy with her work. My highlights and haircut look a million dollars))
I like very much cosmetologist Marina. She very carefully doing his job. After her massage for the face I always sleep like a baby.

Run, don’t walk away from this place. Made an eyelash extension purchase on Amazon Local. Make six phone calls to this place without a call back. On my sixth call I got a vm that was full and I couldn’t leave a message. Got a refund on this «deal»…

I love this adorable salon. The décor is very chic and the women that work here are inviting. It’s a hidden gem in Walnut Creek. I have had my hair colored, highlighted and cut here. I have dark brown hair that I am in the process of lightening. That’s no easy task and Mariya has been wonderful at creating the perfect sun-​kissed look!
I am looking forward to trying the aesthetician services as well!
