Miramonte Company The

I have worked for a property management company before so I know its business very well. Unlike most business practices, Miramonte really sucks and is annoying. They abuse the HOA power and keep sending nuisance notice to harass homeowners such as painting accent trim of the house and the satellite cable must match the color of the house, etc… It seems like they have nothing to do other than going around the neighborhood to nitpick on minor things. I hope that all Harbor Lights I & II homeowners vote this company out as soon as possible.
This is to follow up on my previous review. After posting the 1^st review, Lin Yates contacted me but offered no solution or addressed my concern. I told her that I need more time during the cold Christmas season to get someone to repaint the accent and trim of the exterior of the house, which I did. I paid someone over $ 500 to repaint the trims and paid Dish Network to move the satellite dish to the back of the house. Despite of my compliance to their demand, they still sent me another harassment threatening notice on 1÷21÷16 with the same demands. They don’t even look at or smell the new paint and assumed that I am in non-​compliance. I am very upset with this company’s malicious practices and sent Candice Harrigan and Lin Yates an email with pictures of someone painting the house as well as the Kelly Moore receipt showing that I purchased the paints approved by the HOA board. However, none of them responded to my email or called me.
Today I filed a complaint with BBB detailing their business practices. I plan on taking them to small claim court as well. I urge all property owners who have similar concerns like mine to please take them to court and file complaint with Better Business Bureau. They should better not take our HOA dues to defend their stupid and malicious practices. I will try to use all my power to vote them out soon.

Per Unilocal businesses can’t pay reviewers. No Miramonte didn’t pay me but I’m in regular attendance at HOA meetings to address issues of community. I base my review on interaction with Miramonte and positive outcomes.

Heritage Pointe:
Lin Yates is suppose to be running this company and is not accesable for tenants. She avoids phone calls at all cost. They must have paid Brian for that review or let him go with out paying a months association fees, bc none of it is true. I wish I could’ve given them no stars!
Piss poor Service! Never! In the process of Voteing them Out.
They also send you letters about so called «violations» that they will charge you $ 50 for each occurence. I wish they would do that for the folk who have 10 cars parked at there house and/​or for sale! Tenants who have Christmas decorations all year around. Tenants that obviously have a forest growing in there front yard from planting more plants bc the existing ones don’t get watered. Ha! There priorities are wrong. They have harrassed me about the cables being painted around my house?! How about, the gate the entry gate that is always broken and takes for ever to fix! The street lights that don’t get changed until after we have reported it for over a year. The grass and trees that don’t get cut or trimmed! The sprinklers that water the driveway instead of the grass and also come on during the noonday?!
Furthermore: They call meetings and don’t show up.
The expecations are inconsistant.
The commons areas are not maintained
It takes forever to get things fixed, IF THEY GET FIXED.
They constantly go up on association fees, from $ 123 to $ 143 withing a year.
They send inacurrate information in letters
They get property specifics mixed up and send to the wrong house owners
They prescreen all calls in length, and the person you are calling for is never there.
Incompetant
Deficient
Paid for nothing
Useless
Unreliable

I would like to respond to posts made about Shadowbrook Homes. We all know there were problems in the past., In the last almost 2 years I have with Great Board moved past the past. We have lots of changes made, dry rot, paint, roofs. And keeping our Reserve where its suppose to be. And how? Because of Michelle an Gala! With out them and their coaching hard work words of encouragement we couldn’t be where we are today. So Please come to meetings, be apart and lend that hand it takes to make a Beautiful and Happy place to call home.

Just terrible. If I could give zero stars, I would. They are typically unresponsive, but when they do get around to responding they are useless. It is the worst experience I have had with ANY business. Choose someone else – anyone else to manage your HOA.

F R A U D
Miramonte Company has completely failed in managing Shadowbrook HOA in Martinez CA. Their representative, Gail, has been riddled with misfeasance & malfeasance. She did not take multiple bids for repairs. Instead she awarded the work to her friend, then paid out whatever invoice her friend submitted.
She advised the HOA board to write checks routinely for high-​value dollar amounts without bids. Often the work was never completed & someone else needed to be rehired with the work having to be started all over again. Miramonte Company & Gail permitted the Shadowbrook HOA president to borrow money from the HOA account to renovate the interior of her home even though the president was in arrears in her HOA dues. Then the president filed bankruptcy & did not have to repay the money.
Miramonte Company & Gail permitted another HOA board member to have a water feature built behind her home way in the back paid for by the HOA. But, out of view of most other homeowners to enjoy… just wrote a check for it!
Shadowbrook is in disrepair with broken fences surrounding the pool allowing children to breach access. Brick walls are fractured from the foundation to the top… waiting to topple on someone, exterior paint is peeling of most homes, dry-​rot throughout the wooden retaining walls & nearly tipping over, man-​made creeks drained of water & left dry & other creek beds filled-​in with dirt, wooden awnings in disrepair were torn down, but not replaced, sprinklers are inoperable or broken thus leaking water & causing ground erosion… all due to the HOA not having any money in the account.
Yet, Miramonte Company & Gail were allowed to pay her friend any amount her friend submitted on his invoice for work never completed or was completed incorrectly & whose work needed to be repaired… repaired by Gail’s friend again. Miramonte & Gail allowed the president of the HOA to borrow money out of the HOA account to renovate the presidents home, who then filed bankruptcy.
Finally, with enough protest from homeowners, the HOA board was voted out & the new HOA board forced Gail to play by the rules… Miramonte Company quickly put Gail on a leave of absence & attempted to clean up the books — that failed too.
Now Miramonte Company wants to «just move on» from their damage & draining of our HOA accounts which were & continued to be paid by dues each month. Miramonte Company needs to be investigated for fraud. Shadowbrook HOA needs to terminate Miramonte Company since they have completely failed in managing the HOA.

In my 7 years experience with the Miramonte Management group I have only dealt with qualified, professional and truly helpful people. Miramonte only took direction from our Board of Directors and although we looked to them for advice, in the end it was our decision and outcome. They were always willing to find the correct, legal answers we needed and help with guidance on budgeting when we needed to assess for larger more costly jobs. I can only speak with experience that this company is exemplary in what they do. J. M

How could it get any worse?
The person you are required to talk to is never available. Yes ‘never’.
It takes days before they get back to you.
Since I rent from a relative I am not able to speak for this relative even if they were to give a statement in writing. Ok that must be a legal thing. Granted. However, since i’m required to get a poa to have any interaction with them, why can they not give the owner some examples of what the poa might state so they dont have to pay a lawyer to draw one up.
And they most ANNOYING stupid things they have done repeatedly was continually send the owner letters about weeds in the neighbors yard saying they were in mine because they could not figure out the simple idea that the yard in front of the house belongs to that house. Idiots! My yard is considered one of the nicest in the neighborhood. I would call them back and ask them ‘where exactly are these weeds you are seeing, because I cant find one’. The response I got from them is ‘we cant meet with you because you’re not the owner’. Ok so just keep sending nonsense letters to a 70 year old woman that lives out of state and get her upset that her property isnt kept up. Anyway I told them I need and exact location of the weeds you’re finding. Finally someone realized they either got the wrong house, because, yes my next door neighbors front yard was a complete patch of weeds for months until they decided to do something about it besides leave a dead tree in the middle of it and let weeds grow about a foot high.
The owner of the home is just as fed up with them. The hoa fees have risen astronomically since the homes were built, all the time wondering ‘what are we getting for this amt. of money?’. well not much.

Absolutely worthless deadbeats. Unfortunatly, my HOA uses Miramonte Company. I have a huge tree in front of my house but NOT on my property. The roots have messed up my front walkway and my sprinkler system. I had to pay out of my own pocket to cut part of the root so it would not futher damage pipes.
This tree is HUGE and part of the branches are now touching my house. This tree has needed some attention for quite some time as it often drops large dead branches in my front yard which I am forced to hack up into small pieces just to get them to fit in my yard waste container.
I have called numerous times to Miramonte to get this tree dealt with. Usually the receptionist just transfers me to Gail Pollock and it always goes straight to her voicemail. I have sent Gail multiple emails and she has reassured me the issue will be dealt with by the tree maintenance company. They have been telling me that for over a year now. Lately, they dont even bother to respond to my emails anymore.
Pretty frustrating that they expect me to make my HOA payment on time every month but they cant seem to respond back to one of my emails in a timely manner or get this issue dealt with.

I am currently a Board Member and President of an established HOA. Our Board decided to bring Miramonte Company into our HOA 5 years ago for help and guidance as we were going through some tough times with finances, vendors and management of our complex.
It has been the best decision the HOA Board has every made. Miramonte from the start gave us support and guidance on everything and provided recommendations on vendors they partner with as well. I am very pleased to say that without Miramonte’s help over these last 5 years, our HOA would not be here today in the stronger position it is now. We are financially stronger, more cost effective with our vendors and continue to put plans in place moving forward to review expenses and keep our HOA dues down as much as possible. I personally have worked with the Owner of Miramonte and her whole staff and I have always been completely satisfied.
If your HOA is looking for a management company to help support your association, then Miramonte Company is your answer.

I don’t even want to give them 1-​star… they are not useful, helpful, professional, or courteous in any way. How these people can be allowed to manage anything is beyond me. Kira lies and plays petty games with people for any information or assistance needed; a total lack of professionalism. They «lose» emails and correspondence left and right and put the responsibility of doing everything on others. If you’re looking for a property manager, keeping looking.

These are my HOA mng… these ppl suck big time. It’s so true no one is ever available. I wish I can get rid of them

Bad doing business with cheats and liars. Very unprofessional staff. No one is ever available and the stupid receptionist only places callers into vm since she too is just as unreliable.
I would watch my back with this group.
