History

Established in 2000.

Rubian started Moss CPA after obtaining his CPA license. The firm was founded in Oakland and moved to Walnut Creek in 2011.

Business Owner

Rubian Moss is the Principal and Founder of Moss, CPA. Rubian has been providing accounting services to small business, individuals, and tax exempt organizations for over 15 years. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Before starting his own practice in 2000 Rubian worked for a Big 4 accounting firm. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an option in Accounting from California State University, Chico.

As I’ve seen others mention, I would absolutely agree that the customer service is outstanding. They are extremely responsive, they get back to any and all of our questions very quickly, offer to talk over the phone or meet in person if needed, and explain everything in detail. Rubian Moss, CPA is an excellent company to work with. Our non-​profit organization has doubled in size since working with them and they have been there to support us every step of the way. Staff is responsive, friendly and down to earth. I get all of my questions (which are many!) answered in a thorough manner that makes me confident that we are heading the right direction. I’m having a hard time believing someone else had such a negative experience with Rubian Moss… I have been using his services for my small business as well as personal taxes for four years and he’s been nothing but helpful, thorough, and kind!
I’ve emailed him with all kinds of questions, many of which I’m sure sounded pretty dumb coming from a new business owner, and he answered promptly and helpfully.

I did not find Rubian Moss helpful at all. My business partner and I used his services for two years. During this time we would email and or call Rubian with tax questions. Each time he gave us an IRS answer (aka language normal people don’t understand). It was a very unplesant experience and a waste of out time and resources. We have now switched to Alan Steeples at Inconcert Financial Group — excellent!
