Specialties
There’s a reason why we are still in business after opening our doors in 1956… almost 55 years ago!
Our company is family run and we pride ourselves on top-quality workmanship using high quality parts.
75% of our work involves re-doing the inferior installations of other companies. As a comparison, systems that were installed by us in the 1950’s and 1960’s are still working properly after all these years.
We specialize in new irrigation systems, new landscaping and low voltage lighting. We also repair drip irrigation and all types of sprinkler repair. Leaks? Drips? Broken water main? We can fix it!
Hardscapes that include rock walls, retaining walls and stone pathways are all projects that we love. Ask about our outdoor lighting specials too!
History
Established in 1956.
Les Scharmer was a pioneer in Contra Costa County. He was one of the first to specialize in irrigation and sprinkler installation and repair.
Today, in 2010, we have completed over 20,000 installations. Many of these that date from the ’50’s and ’60’s are still working properly and have needed little to no repairs.
We pride ourselves on using quality materials that will last for decades. Mark Scharmer (the son and current owner) personally oversees every installation. We intend to uphold our reputation and stay in business with satisfied customers for another 50+ years.
In addition to our irrigation specialty, we have included landscaping and low voltage lighting services. Our customers experience the same attention to detail and quality results that they have come to expect from us. We stand behind our work 110%.
Maybe that’s why we’ve been in business so long!
Meet the Business Owner
Mark S.
Business Owner
I started working in the business in the early 70’s. In 1982 I took over as owner and operator.
My philosophy has always been to concentrate on quality systems over quantity. What I mean is that our systems are intended to last.
We spend as much time as necessary to make sure our customers never give a second thought to their sprinklers after we do the job… all the customer does is admire their beautiful landscape.
I get a lot of personal satisfaction from being called the «Re-Do, Go-To Guy». We get a LOT of calls from people who need us to re-do a system that might not even be that old, but is already broken or not working properly. These systems that we are re-doing are generally only 2 – 5 years old! That’s a lot of money and headache for a short period of time.
Our company and our work is different. We don’t want you to have to call us to repair our work; we want you to enjoy what we’ve installed for you.
