I have been at SPS for almost two years, which says something about the confidence I have in this facility. Nothing has ever been damaged, moved or in any way disturbed since I first rented, and I am often away for long periods. No bugs, no rats, no water, no break-​ins I really like the staff and always stop in to say hello when I access my unit.

The managers are so friendly and very helpful! I love it here :) They always greet me with a smile, and I always get a reminder before my payment is due, it is so helpful since I have a busy schedule sometimes I forget, but they call me and let me know before so I always pay on time. How did I manage to collect all this stuff over the years? That question comes up frequently, now that the Albany House has been emptied, life in Pleasant Hill continues, and 2 of Gayle’s Sons have moved in (and one back out). My ex-​Wife once made a point that extra storage wouldn’t be necessary if present possessions were managed. She was right, but right now that advice is too late.
So a few months back, I did my storage facility research, and decided on Security Public Storage, within the northern territories of Walnut Creek. After a bit of a drive, a hard right after a point store, and down the hill, the double story storage complex was laid out in front of me and several loads of stuff behind in the vehicle. The folks in the front office (who live in an apartment above) were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable in terms of what we had and what storage space we needed.
With visions of «Storage Wars» dancing in my head, we have loaded up our space, with several cubic feet to spare. It’s a funky combination of furniture, boxes, and other stuff. Transfers have been easy, thanks to available carts and a sturdy elevator.
Some day we’ll have to deal with what to do with it all. And if I had a choice, I wouldn’t be spending my money this way. Yet, Gayle is almost able to drive into the garage, and with promises of the next purge, there is hope. Thank You Security Public Storage for making this stage in family life much more manageable.

I;m really happy with SPS of Walnut Creek. My first priority in choosing a place to store my stuff was somewhere secure and I feel really comforted knowing each unit has an individual alarm, not to mention the benefit of having people on site. The office staff are great and really reassuring. I do wish the lights in the hallways came on a bit quicker so the space wasn’t so dark for so long after you walk in, but otherwise love it here.

I needed to store some stuff from them for about 7 months. Communication was great, employees were always helpful and friendly. I recently moved out and everything went very well. Moving out was simple and easy. I remember when I first rented from them, there was a lighting issue towards my section. I was wary about having to walk almost all the way down the dark hall before the lights would come on. I guess I’ve been watching too many horror movies. Well, the owner noticed it and the next time I came back it was fixed. If you’re using a moving truck to remove your belongings from storage though, be careful because the driveway down to the storage is narrow.

First off, Angela and Josh are great to work with. They are very personable, and the facility is well maintained and the two of them are very helpful and professional. My issue comes with a certain situation when an employee who was filling in for Angela and Josh that day refused to allow a family member of mine who was coming to get my items access to my storage unit, even when she had a key, my unit number, and I called to confirm both of our identities while she was standing right there in the office. We were just requesting the gate code number for her to gain access to my unit, and even after offering to scan said employee my drivers license, provide my SSN, and email him statements they send me monthly, he still said no. And this was not a «I’m so sorry for your inconvenience» kind of no. It was a «No, nope can’t, sorry. Can’t help you unless you are here with her showing me your ID». Word to the wise: use this facility, but be sure Angela and/​or Josh are there if you have a question or need assistance.

This rental facility is clean and well-​maintained. The managers have always been nothing but helpful and personable to my daughter, who was the actual renter. When she needed me to help her by emptying her space since she had moved away, and she sent me the key but could not remember the entry code, I went into the office hoping they would allow me gate access with my daughter’s approval. The managers were not in today, and I was told in no uncertain terms that it would not be possible. I had her unit #, the key in my possession, and she called in while I was standing there, but no dice. She offered to scan and email her driver’s license, sign an authorization, forward a copy of the email invoice they sent her monthly to prove that it was her to authorize my entry… still not an ounce of cooperation from the employee of the day. He saw that I had a rental truck for which I had already paid, it made no difference… policy is policy. Even said that for all he knew, I could be conspiring to get into a unit to take things. Really? My daughter could provide private info to verify her identity beyond a doubt, but there was to be no way to help mitigate a difficult situation. Very disappointing.

We have used this storage facility several times and they made our lives so much easier! Dave is so easy to work with, he’s organized and super dependable to help out with anything. Heather is knowledgable when Dave’s not working so you don’t have to wait to get answers. We will be back next time we need extra space. I’d highly recommend this storage unit!

I was looking for a storage place where I would be able to keep my stuff for a few months, I came across this one and I must say I’ve had nothing but excellent customer service from Angela and Josh. They both were very helpful and friendly. They helped me get the right size for me and they also ensured that I understood everything since I did tell them that this was the first time I had ever had to use a storage place. I’ve had my belongings here for a few months and I can honestly say that this place is very secure, it’s always clean and their employees have amazing personalities. I’ve never had any issues and I would highly recommend for everyone to use them if they are ever in need of a good storage place! THANKS ANGELA AND JOSH FOR YOUR GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

This was my first experience renting storage space. This location is super clean. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I have a corporate discount and there were no concerns with using it (have had trouble elsewhere using this discount card.)
We ended up needing a bigger space and had to leave this location but we would definitely go back and would highly recommend them to others.

I’ve been here for three years. I’ve had pleasant experiences with both past and current management. Jeff and Angela are very friendly and always eager to help when its needed.
They’ve been quite patient with me as I consistently eat most of the chocolate out of the candy dish and talk their ear off each time I’m here. Its been an atypical experience, at my past storage units staff has always been indifferent. Definitely not the case here.

This is by far the cleanest and best managed storage facility I have ever rented. I checked pricing with a couple of other local competitors and Security Storage was by far the most affordable. From the friendly staff the minute you walk in to the comfort of having an individual alarm on your unit to an actual clean restroom — security storage is a perfect 10 in my book!

Even though I rented for at least 10 years at a storage facility in Concord, I really was interested in locating a space closer to my home in W.C. After shopping around, and meeting the manager’s of the W.C. facility, I transferred my property to Security.
The facility’s managers made the transition very easy for me. I have no hesitation to recommend this hidden gem of a storage facility in W.C. to potentials.

Don’t waste your time looking at other storage facilities. Security public storage is the place you want to be. I looked here first and then compared all the other self storage places in Walnut Creek. There was no comparison. Security public storage has competitive prices, units are easy to access with large freight elevators, the security system for each unit is top notch, many different unit sizes to choose from, and customer service is what led me to write this review.
I have been renting a locker for a while and wanted to upgrade. The staff put me on a waiting list and promptly called me when a unit was available. My phone calls and emails have been returned promptly, and the autopay setup is one less thing to worry about each month. The managers and staff truly care about this business. If I move outside Walnut Creek I will continue as a loyal customer at this location.

I have received no incentives to write this review. I have experience of renting storage space at 4 other S.F. Bay Area locations in the past five years.
My criteria for this Excellent rating are the Facility, the Services I have received, and the Cost of space rental. My advice is simple. Rent space here.
The «secret» of excellence in most businesses is the management and people who operate the business. Maribeth & Jeff Carson are the operators and live on site. Their personal service and the facilities they provide are excellent.
The facility has excellent perimeter and electronic security which has recently been updated. This is a big advantage to me over facilities in Martinez and close to freeway locations in Concord and points north of Walnut Creek.
I am enjoying low rates customized to my planned length of stay. Mr. & Mrs. Carson work from the consumer point of view to provide the most suitable rental rates.
