Well, I read the reviews, pro and con. And I went here anyway. I was having terrible trouble walking. It felt like there was a stone in the ball of my left foot, and it was getting worse.
Dr. Steinberg spent about 5 minutes removing a callus from the ball of my foot and presto! No more pain when I walk. None. It was a miracle. Well, maybe not a miracle, but it’s wonderful nonetheless!

The reviews seem to be either one star or 5. You can add me to the 5 star people. Maybe that’s because I’m a Kaiser patient, but for the past 15 years, when I REALLY need help with a foot problem, I pay out of pocket to see Dr. Steinberg. He’s very sympathetic with Kaiser patients and charges reasonable rates. Unlike Kaiser, I can usually get an appointment with Dr. Steinberg in a day or two (as opposed to weeks), and he’s helped me out on every occasion. I first saw him when I had a shin problem and got custom orthotics from him. Later he treated a plantar fibroma, diagnosed bone spurs, and now he’s helping me recover from the bone spur surgery done by my Kaiser podiatrist, whose post-​op treatment was very unsatisfactory. The difference is that Dr. Steinberg doesn’t beat around the bush and gives realistic prognoses. He’s never pressured me into aggressive treatments and chooses to try a conservative approach first. He’s available for questions, caring, encouraging and has a good sense of humor. Sharon, his office manager, not only runs everything well, but actually makes it fun to come in for an appointment. I highly recommend Dr. Steinberg’s practice.. .

Great doctor. I have seen Dr Steinberg for a neuroma in my right foot and then later one in my left foot. I ended up having a cortisone shot in each foot. I had the shot in my right foot about 4 years ago and have had no more issues. Had the shot in my left foot a year ago. Unfortunately the pain in my left foot has come back after a year, so will be getting another cortisone shot. He has never tried to push any products and have never had any issues related to billing.
I highly recommend this doctor. He and his staff are very friendly.

I received laser treatment for toenail fungus from Jonathan Steinberg and I was completely dissatisfied with the treatment. I would not advise anyone to waste their time and money because I do not think that he has the expertise to treat the condition. I trusted him to do what he said he could do and he really did not even make a hint of a difference and wanted more money to try again. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I’ve got a little extra pep in my step today! I just left Dr. Steinberg’s office where I picked up my new custom orthotics. I had a pair for years but my car was stolen 2 summers ago and my shoes with orthotics were inside. I work in a restaurant so I’ve basically been in pain ever since. I was running 3x a week anyway and a few months ago, I rolled my ankle. Then I rolled it again… and again and again. Time to do something! I saw Dr. Steinberg, his office manager Sharon got me in within hours! Got the X-​rays and an examination and there was no *major* damage, but my feet need to be stabilized! My orthotics came in less than a week and I’m ALREADY feeling better! I’ll give myself this week to get used to them and I’ll start my running program next week. Half marathon, here I come!

I treated myself to some new shoes to go with the new orthotics… and had to bling them out!

Simply the best podiatrist you will every find. Dr. Steinberg and his staff are the most caring and attentive providers of foot and ankle care. I had two issues, chronic Plantar Fasciitis as well as a partially torn Achilles tendon. I was in agony, for months. Finally my wife said she had heard enough and insisted I go find out what could be done. After about six months of therapy and injections (yep, they hurt but I will take that pain any day over chronic foot and ankle pain) I was completely healed.
Like new. I can run, jump climb mountains, fish in slippery streams and rivers and do all the things I love and was unable to do before seeing Dr. Steinberg. Man up… take that chronic foot and ankle pain over to these guys, they will make it all better!

Dr. Steinberg is a competent doctor who does a good job. Why the 2 stars? Because I felt that he was trying to sell me various expensive treatments and products throughout the visit and was annoyed when I chose not to buy them. I understand that everyone wants to be a millionaire (me too!), but a professional should be just that, professional.

After my insurance directed me to this office the office manager claimed they would not accept the insurance. Her manner was very unprofessional and quite confrontational. Never got to see the doctor but unless you have a mainline insurance, good to avoid this office.

I had two laser treatments for toenail fungus and it was a complete failure. It cost $ 800 and was a total rip off. Do not waste your money!

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Steinberg! I don’t understand the negative reviews because he was straight forward with me and explained what he saw/​thought.
I had a weird unknown growth high up between 2 of my toes and thought it might be a neuroma or a cyst but showed signs of being something more serious. I was very nervous about having surgery and Dr. Steinberg told my husband and I «If you were my wife, I’d get this thing out and send it to the lab.» And he was right, the thing grew quickly and he got it out before it caused any real problems.
He was my second opinion, and it was such a relief to have him speak openly to me, opposed to the first Dr. I saw who informed me I needed an MRI, and blood tests. Dr. S said an MRI would just give a color version of the xray they already took and cost a lot more! He listened to my concerns, and my worry about surgery. He also had his office fax me a breakdown of the surgery, with all the medical codes, so I could call my insurance and figure out exactly what it would cost out of pocket!
The surgery went perfectly and Dr. S called a couple of times over the next few days to check on me. After I had healed, we discussed the scar tissue and Dr. Patel said they could send me to PT, or show me the exercises, I could try doing them myself instead.
All in all, Dr. Steinberg and his office staff were thoughtful, helpful and great to deal with.

Dr. Steinberg is really a great podiatrist. He is a good listener and educator which is likely because he is very intelligent and loves his job. I don’t know why anyone would want to go into feet, but I am sure glad he did. I was very impressed.

I visited Dr Steinberg for plantar facitiis. I was initially pleased with my visits there and the orthotic he provided me. My issue is not with the doctor or the services he provided, but with his staff and their unethical billing practices. My first warning to anyone thinking of visiting this doctor is DO NOT give them any money. You will not be reimbursed. They asked me to write a check for orthotics and explained that they would reimburse me 100% once my insurance reimbursed them. However, when insurance did reimburse them 100% I still did not get my money back. The doctor «forgot» to mention that I would have to pay the difference between the negotiated rate for the insurance company and their inflated rate ($ 220). After many months of dealing with them and only after I threatened to take them to small claims court did they finally let me return the orthotics for a refund. My insurance carrier (Blue Cross Blue Shield) called me recently to get some more information on my claim because they are having other complaints regarding this doctor’s billing. I found the staff rude and dishonest. They lied to me several times saying things like «I mailed you a check last Friday» and that I signed a contract that turns out never existed. I would advise you use caution when using this doctor, especially in dealing with his staff.

I am a bit surprised about some positive reviews here. I wish I had read the previous review before I went to this doctor. I was not informed well with his plan for treatment. He diagnosed neuroma in my foot and suggested x-​ray to start with which I refused. I later learned that neuroma cannot be diagnosed with x-​rays. He suggested a cortisone shot and physical therapy (PT). When I was questioning the need for PT because of its high cost, he told me that it is needed for the treatment. I had the cortisone shot and went to 3 PT sessions as he suggested. In the end, my foot was worse than before I went to see the doctor. Previously before seeing the doctor, I was experiencing pain in my foot while running only. After so called ‘the treatment’, I have that pain in my foot all the time. Running? Forget it, I can’t do that anymore. I cannot even have a nice walk in the outside. I later went to see him again to tell that it got worse, he told me that there is no treatment for neuroma, he said –by looking down on me– we can only lessen the symptoms. Oh really, why did you not tell me before I spend money on expensive PT sessions? He blamed me by misunderstanding what he said. He said that if this did not work, only other option is operation. I just learned that this operations are really risky. Out of desperation, I wanted to give a try to acupuncture. I went to 2 sessions and my foot got totally recovered after. I wasted time and money (I have insurance but I pay coinsurance) on his office, and I just wish good luck to all patients who see him.

Recently went to Dr Steinberg for an ingrown toe nail that was affecting my ability to walk and bothering me at work. I was pleased with my experience, the staff was friendly, I was seen as soon as my paperwork was done and the doctor was gentle and professional. It turns out that I know have another problem with my foot, and I’m secure in the knowledge that I have a good podiatrist who will help alleviate my pain. It should be noted that it is a dog friendly office so if you don’t like dogs, (I do!) then don’t pet Angel when she comes to great you and she’ll go back to her office duties. I would recommend Dr Steinberg to anyone!

I have been a patient of Dr. Steinberg for several years now. I wouldn’t go to anyone else. He listens; he explains; he is kind and humorous. I would recommend him to anyone. He is the best! The staff is friendly and it is a very comfortable setting.

Wow. Surprised to hear nice things about this office because my experience was not good; Staff professionalism and chairside manner really need work. While my daughter & I were in the reception area, the doctor and the front office lady bickered for several minutes while totally ignoring us. After my teen daughter was examined, the doctor did not explain anything to us, just announced that she needed 3 sessions of some expensive ultrasound treatment to to lessen the symptoms. I asked him why she was having the ankle problem. He looked at me blankly and said, «She’s jumping too much.» I subsequently took her to see an athletic trainer who, in one short session was able to trace the problem to the source: a specifc tight muscle. The trainer spent a lot of time educating us. With simple stretching excercises, she has stayed out of trouble through 2 years of high school varsity volleyball and track.

I just picked Dr. Steinberg’s practice randomly to renew my orthotics and did I get lucky! He’s a great doctor and his staff is the main reason why I had such a great experience. I recommend him highly.

I have never had any problems with my feet before but a few months ago I developed a sharp pain in my left foot ball area. I tried all sorts of store bought insoles to no avail and finally spun the Doctor Lottery Wheel and landed at Dr. Steinberg’s office.
The Dr. Steinberg has a very nice, well lit, corner office, tastefully decorated and well staffed. I waited less than 10 min to see the Dr. He has a foot X-​ray machine on site so no separate appointments for for that.
The X-​ray showed no physical damage to my foot and the Dr. explained how my flat (ish) feet could be causing the problem. He recommended a cortisone shot, some anti inflammatories and some follow up therapy to see if that would stop the pain.
I followed his advice to the letter and I am pain free and all of my follow up appoints took less than ½ hr each (no waiting). I have had some very mixed results with the Doctor Lottery Wheel in the past. This time it feels like I won.
