As a general contractor, I have not seen a lighting company that has customer service, warranty, design, pricing like Walnut Creek Lighting. The staff is very professional and informative. I have shopped at many places over the years and found this company the most trustful, reliable and just good people to work with.

Katy is some kind of psychic. I walked into the store with no idea of what would work for my lighting needs, wandered around for a while, described my problem to Katy, and she walked me directly to her «go-​to» fixture for my kind of problem. It was exactly what I needed in a style that was perfect, and very reasonably priced. She even discounted the LED bulbs I needed. I’ll never go anywhere else for lighting fixtures.

Katy said can I help you and she certainly could and did. I had been through a designer who could not come up with the right lights for the specific needs and Kelvin and lumens and all the other technical aspects for a significant bath remodel. Neither could the chain light stores and my contractor was not a lighting pro.
We brought in the plans and she new exactly what to recommend off the showroom floor and from the catalogues. When the contractor saw the boxes, he was worried that the various lights were not compatible with the electrical and that he would need to install extra devices to manage the different voltages and so forth.
I had him call Katy and absolutely everything she recommended is exactly perfect for the various applications (low voltage over the shower, etc.)
I doubt I will ever buy a light from anyone else — ever!

So glad we checked Unilocal to find Walnut Creek Lighting. Great selection, great people, and great prices. We had been looking all over and found everything we were looking for in one trip. Awesome!!!

WC lighting is an excellent run business. Katy knows her lighting fixtures and found the perfect light for my hallway. The light needed to be ordered and came in on the scheduled date. Its nice for a WC business to have complementary close parking. I used Bocek-​Compaglia GC, recommended by Katy, to install the light. They came within the week I called and on time. Very polite and neat. Very reasonable installation charge. The light fixture is less expensive on line and thats the reason I gave 4 instead of 5.

This is exactly what a local business should be: expertise and service that keeps you coming back. Their selection is great and they have lots of up to date styles. You can definitely find what you are looking for her and get some great inspirational ideas. Much higher quality than, say, Lamps Plus. The only reason I have given them 4 stars is that you can find lighting fixtures cheaper online but then you really can’t see what you are getting either. I think for a few bucks more I would rather have less risk, so to me it is totally worth it.

Wow! What a great experience at Walnut Creek Lighting! Katy was super helpful in finding the matching Hubbardton Forge Ceiling fixture to my table lamp. Katy even ordered me a new finial which was missing on my existing lamp! (I didn’t even buy it there!!)
I work in the furniture industry and even work with many lighting companies, I know what Net/​List pricing is for fine lighting and Walnut Creek Lighting is VERY competitive! I can’t tell you how nice it is to have a store to walk into where they can take care of things in person! (Also, my tax dollars stay in the community!!)

Wow!!! We walked in with plans for our house remodel and were lucky enough to have been referred by a friend to Katie at WCR lighting… she was amazing! She has an encyclopedic knowledge of all the products on the market and made so e recommendations that we would never thought of. Without having physically seeing our house, she was spot on her her recommendations. We spent over the life of our project, maybe a total of 3 hours and knocked out an entire house remodel in terms of lighting… and, she drew up plans that we could just hand to electrical sub!
Her choices and advice were dead on and everyone who has seen our house remarks on the lighting and the fixtures… Katie is the BEST… we would never go anyplace else
Everyone here that we dealt with (when Katie was off) were very nice and the family also owns the store in Berkely… the one or two times that I went with contractor there, I had the same great experience

I have used the Walnut Creek lighting store for almost 10 years, During this time period, I have made small and large purchases. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. They treat you the same, whether you are there to purchase a specialty light bulb or a large chandelier. Some things you only learn over time as to how a business works with their customers. When I show up with a question or concern about something I purchased years ago, I receive full attention and there is always a solution to my concern. These guys run a tight, customer oriented operation and excel at making your concern their concern, until you are happy. If you have a lighting need, Walnut Creek Lighting is the sure bet starting point. And then, you have a helping friend for life.

This store carries a huge selection of lighting (indoor and out) at all price points. Our house was very poorly lighted and I sought their help in redesigning the whole home’s lighting plan. They have a secret weapon at this store and her name is Alissa Carlos.
She is a lighting designer and she really knows her stuff. She spent an hour in our home assessing our needs and came up with a comprehensive lighting plan which she emailed to me, along with attached photos of suggested fixtures and a price list.
Her suggestions were just superb. We took their advice and used Marc Croke to install our lighting, which was a big (two and a half day) job. He was great. Highly recommended. The job is finished and we are thrilled to finally have a well lit and also more energy– efficient home.

Best lighting store — hands down! Best selection, knowledgeable staff and very friendly owner. Every time I need something they are quick to respond and regularly keep me informed on my orders. If you want a great selection for a new home, remodel or business these guys are top notch. More importantly they listen to you, walk you through the process, design for you, work with designers and electricians to make sure you’re getting what you want and look that you want. This is not just any lighting store, it really is the lighting store to meet all your needs — big or small. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!

These guys are amazing. Any time I need anything lighting related I first contact Walnut Creek Lighting, and they seem to always have the answer. Their knowledge is what seems to set them apart from other warehouse hardware stores.
Another huge benefit is that they have their own parking and a clean, uncluttered showroom that lets you actually see the lighting fixtures. I get so overwhelmed in busy showrooms that just stick up lights on the ceiling and expect you to figure out what’s what. That’s not at all the case here.
I love their display, their staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I will always recommend this place to anyone that is doing a remodel. Good job guys.

I had a lamp that was past warranty break recently. Not only was the repair done quickly, but they did some research on the item and it was free. I cannot say enough about the professional follow through and courtesy they showed me. My home is suddenly feeling dark and I want more lighting.

Not only does Walnut Creek Lighting Co have the best selection in town, they also have the most knowledgable and helpful staff and owner! I bring all of my work lighting fixtures here. They are always able to solve whatever lighting issue we are having or help us find an appropriate replacement.
My other huge plus about them is that they always have a smile on their faces when you walk through the door, and seem genuinely happy to have you there. That makes my experience with them THAT much better every time I go in!

Sometimes I see a business that has mostly five-​star reviews on Unilocal and I think they must be stuffing the ballot box. Not the case here.
After spending many frustrating hours on-​line trying to find a variety of lighting fixtures for a remodeling project, in desperation I stopped by Walnut Creek Lighting Co. two days before my contractor was scheduled to start work.
The folks here are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. The showroom is crammed with hundreds of fixtures, and if you don’t see what you like, the staff has thousands more in manufacturers’ catalogs that they can show you.
Highly recommended.

Waaaay better selection than the chain lighting store! The clerk at WC Lighting helped me find a modern bathroom fixture that matched my style and brightness requirements and was reasonably within my budget. They ordered it and they called a week or so later when the fixture came in. It’s now installed and looking/​functioning well.
The showroom isn’t huge, but it does have a relatively good selection. I imagine they have tons of catalogs if you don’t see what you’re looking for. Easy parking too.
