Beef has way to much fat on it. I feel like i ordered fat with a side of beef. Loved watching soccer though.

***First off, my review started with 5 stars, but now has been changed to 3 stars**** Everything was great(see below review), until — the take home Mahi Mahi to go plate. O-M-G. The fish is tasteless, dry, and very difficult to finish it is THATBAD. I will just throw it away! =(((((( The rest was cool… Came here today randomly and ended up smelling the yummy BBQ so I dropped by for lunch to try something new for a change. Ended up ordering: Masubi specials, just because they looked yummy and the Tuesday specials looked cool to try out. I ordered: BBQ Chicken Teriyaki — 3rd favorite Chicken Katsu — surprisingly my last favorite, even though I LOVE fried chicken! Fried Shrimp —my 1st favorite Egg & Spam — 2nd favorite When I saw my order in the bag, I didn’t realize I had 4, as I thought I only ordered 3 and was surprised the BBQ chicken was included and was wondering why my total was over $ 6 since I wasn’t too hungry. I didn’t want to be a drama queen and return it, so I just ended up seeing whether I could finish them all and it was a heavier portion than expected, 3 would have been more than enough. Alas, next time! =) The music was Hawaiian(of course!) and made me really feel like I was on vacation(Oh how I wish!!) My mind is starting to really drift about summer vacation and this spot is great to remind me how yummy Hawaiian food is. I was tempted to order the Portuguese sausage Masubi, but hey there is always a next time, but this particular location looks very happening(well, at least compared to Pasadena!)

I love coming here for masubi Tuesdays! We usually get a couple and it makes a pretty filling dinner. Spam masubi for $ 1.25, chicken katsu for $ 1.50. The chicken katsu is crispy! Bbq chicken masubi is meh. However, the regular bbq chicken bowl/plate is very tasty! The chicken is really tender and not too salty. Usually comes in a large portion with rice and one side. Service is always on point!

Come here to Masubi Tuesdays! All of their masubis are $ 1.50, except spam and egg, and BBQ beef, those are $ 1.75 which is good still too. Masubi is seaweed wrapped around rice, over whichever protein you choose. The best and most popular is the chicken katsu Masubi, which is deep fried chicken. Everything else is pretty good as well, esp for its price!

Good way to fill up on any meals here. They are cooked fresh. We always get the $ 1410pk Spam Musabi special because it’s delicious. Their mac salad is good too.

— Locale Destination — It’s on N Grand Ave and Valley Blvd in Walnut. It’s in the big shopping center, right next to «Ten Ren’s». Across from«Pieology». Ambiance: Very casual, seems new, very spacious, 2 big TVs for games ;) Both inside and outside seating. Service: Friendly. Parking: Avoid peak hours. Lots of parking spots, but it could be full. — Gluttony Expedition — Chicken katsu curry: Curry was cheapy & watery one(Ordinary one is a lot thicker in general). Flavor wasn’t bad. Some vegetables in it, I didn’t find any meat. Mini got one scoop of rice and tons of thin chicken katsu. The chicken katsu(breaded and deep fried) got very thick coating(to make it look bigger than the real thickness of chicken). The taste was alright. Poor quality at best. I rather have more rice than chicken — the ratio for chicken and rice was way off. Good for men, but I cld only eat like 2⁄3. Alright. Macaroni didn’t seem to be fresh and the taste was the worst I’ve ever had at L&L(usually pretty good). I couldn’t eat more than a few bites. Alright as a whole. I wouldn’t order it again. — Conqueror’s Deduction — I like L&L in general, yet I can kinda understand this low rating at this location. «L&L» doesn’t have the highest quality in general, however, it tastes good — more than average. When I want«rice», this place does enough job for me. I can’t deny the fact that this place has lesser quality than other locations. Macaroni salad is usually pretty good at «L&L» but not here. It didn’t feel fresh nor taste good. It was my first time I couldn’t even finish even the half of it. The food might fill you up, but that’s about it. Friendly service. Very very borderline of 3 and 2 stars for the taste and its quality. Playing NBA is a huge plus. That’s why they got 3 stars, not 2.

L&L is good in moderation. I do get an L&L craving approximately every other month. If I go any more often than that, the food gets to be too heavy for me. The fried, heavy, oily style of food isn’t that conducive to a happy state of mind. When I feel full, this place gets 3 stars. When I’m hungry, in the eye of my mind this place becomes four stars. Spam musubi for the win. Confession: my whole life I thought musubi was spelled«misubi» until I was trying to write this review and realized I didn’t know how to spell it. Stay in school kids!!!

Crunchy and yummy Katsuya chicken. Good portions for the price. Mac salad, the typical staple of Hawaiian bbq, left something to be desired. Great variety of Hawaiian drinks and chocolates.

Good price for an order enough for two!(Regular size) I’ve had the BBQ chicken and the chicken katsu(BBQ Chicken being my favorite due to the tenderness: D) Great flavor and healthy enough even though it’s fast food. Can’t complain about the price It does get a little busy on Tuesdays because of Spam musubi tuesdays($ 1ea!)

I haven’t had Hawaiian food in a while, so this really hit the spot for me. Because I don’t eat this kind of food very often however, I’m not sure I really know what authentic Hawaiian food would taste like. I like how there are 2 different sizes of meals you can get, the Mini and Regular. The Mini includes 1 scoop of rice or brown rice and choice of macaroni salad or tossed green salad while the Regular came with an extra scoop of rice in addition to what the Mini offered. I ordered a Mini BBQ chicken, which was $ 5.95(regular would’ve been $ 7.95), and it was enough to feed me twice. My order was ready surprisingly fast, despite having other customers they had to serve before me. I personally didn’t care for the raw lettuce shreds that came with the chicken; it was too raw, crunchy, and plain. The chicken however, had perfect texture, was moist/.juicy, and tasted great. I would have liked to get more rice; there seemed to be more raw cabbage than rice. I would have preferred the cabbage be at least slightly steamed/cooked rather than raw, but I appreciated that it was shredded. The pasta salad was decent. It was filling and perfectly cold; I liked eating it with all the other components together. There seemed to be good business; I went on a Saturday, early afternoon. I would come back again.

I only come here for their spam musubis which are kind of hard to mess up. It’s right by school so it’s convenient. I tried their kalua/Lau lau combo yesterday and it was absolutely terrible. Dry, no flavor, just… yuck. Thumbs down on their mac salad — I feel like they didn’t cook the macaroni long enough because it was tough! Tough mac salad? Not a fan of the flavor either. It was just… weird. Their customer service is terrible. Alllll the girls that have helped me at the cashier have been… not happy. The owner, I believe, an older Asian woman has this sh*t look in her face all the time and acts like I should feel honored to be ordering there. Even when I say thank you when picking up my food, I always get this«Mm hmm» response. Yeah whatever.

I usually phone in my order for pickup so I don’t have to wait when arriving, in case it is busy. Different items that I order include spam masubi, chicken katsu(curry version is good too), and moco loco. The side mac and cheese that comes with meals is addicting IMO and I’m always left wanting more. Seating is usually fine here and there’s a large HDTV that’s usually on a sports game. Parking can be tough though during lunch and dinner peak hours.

I was pretty hungry after class and was looking for something I haven’t in a while. I drove by and said why not. Overall this establishment is clean, the food was okay. I ordered Number 14(BBQ Chicken and rice), as mentioned before it was okay. The chicken had an excessive amount of loose skin(As seen in picture). I’ll probably give this place another try down in the future, hopefully I’ll have a better experience with my food. There are many food establishments in close proximity, you might have a better food experience else where.

Two stars for service and cleanliness. Yet the food had much lacking. The rice was hard, the macaroni salad dry, chicken slimmy rib had alot of fat and it was soggy. The beef was alright. I don’t know it just seemed like old food reheated wrong. No crispness no tenderness. Will not be coming back here

I normally start a review with pro’s and con’s but today is way different! I came here for lunch today, which was really busy. I order their regular BBQ chicken plate #14. I began to eat my chicken and a few bites later I bit into a bone? Bone, really I thought this was suppose to be boneless!!! I don’t mine bones in my chicken but I did today! Normally theirs no bones in their meat. Still on my FIRST piece of meat, I got another bone!!! Dam, I stopped eating that piece and began eating another. This part gets worse!!! I started cutting into the second piece when, I FUCKEN notice this tube like structure coming out of the chicken. Then I cut into another piece and another tube structure was present!!! WTF i stopped eating immediately and began to feel sick!!! I don’t know my chicken anatomy but I’m sure this tube like structure was either: vein, artery or small/large intestine of a chicken. I was about to vomit!!! I’m never eating here AGAIN!!!

L&L is cool. I ain’t tried most of the things they have on their menu, but I can tell you based on the BBQ Chicken Plate and the Musubis, they’re tasty with that saucy marinated flavor. L&L honestly is a step above Ono and other mom-and-pop places that make Hawaiian BBQ. Their selections are nice — they have a good wide range of things to try — from burgers to musubis to chicken bowls to plates to whatever else. Everytime I come to the place its always packed and there’s always two women at the register — that tells you something … twice as much people coming in to order and eat. One little problem I have is sometimes the meat gets charred black on the underside when I don’t check it — so everytime I come I make sure they don’t overdo the cooking on the underside. Flame Broiler does that occasionally and I would take a star away from them just ’cause of that. Ono has some blandy taste in their food but their quantity is decent. L&L is like Robeks — a level above the competition … you really can’t top them right now.

I come here quite often because I work not too far from here. L&L is a trusty Hawaiian BBQ place that I’ve not ever gotten tired of just yet. This one isn’t any different. There are two TV sets. I’ve come here lately to watch the World Cup while eating lunch. I usually order the fish katsu special – I get the mini for like $ 5.50 or so, but it fills me up. Nice and crispy and hot. Usually the katsu plate comes with rice and mac and cheese on the side. Every time I come here, I leave full. There is a big list of choices here. I occasionally get the curry katsu, but admittedly, I can tell it’s not their specialty. It’s located within a big shopping center with plenty of parking(although it does get almost filled up around lunch time). Interior is medium-sized, and a group of 4 – 6 should fit fine.

Called to cater for a lunch party the next day, over the phone they told me that anything over $ 100 — I would need to go in to pay. So rather than make the trip I made my order under $ 100 and said I could pay in full over the phone. The supervisor told the worker that I still had to go in to order and pay for the next day. When I asked to talk to the supervisor(since I’ve ordered over the phone before, well over $ 100), they hung up on me. Called back and when I asked to speak to the supervisor they hung up on me again. Terrible customer service. Going with aloha from now on.

Have loved L&L since… forever! The location is great because I often have to head here for a few errands and there are just so many choices around here. I always tend to get the Hawaiian bbq chicken but I also very much enjoy all of their other meats, whether it is the chicken katsu or the bbq mix. Whenever I order any of the bentos, I always have leftovers because the portions are quite big. The service here is always top notch. Very friendly and always willing to answer any questions you may have. It had been awhile since I ordered a party tray but when I called last week to order, the worker was really nice and took the time to answer all my questions. No cutting me off on the phone. I was a little later than expected when picking up my food but they offered to reheat it for me. For a party platter, one can also opt either to have more rice and less macaroni salad, vice versa, or even opt out of rice and get more macaroni salad and vice versa. I like that they don’t extra charge if you decide one item over another. Also really like their spam musubis. Their food quality is always consistent and I am never disappointed.

Always loved this place since they opened, what, almost a decade ago? Bf and I probably come to this particular L&L maybe once a year or once every 2 years. But, regardless of time, this place is always very consistent with food, portions, and service. I always get to Loco Moco(2 eggs sunny side up, 2 patties) or the Atkins(meat platter). They come with rice and macaroni salad most of the time, unless you tell them you want all rice(no macaroni salad), which the bf does. Bf prefers the katsu(breaded chicken) or one of the other chicken plates. We’ve eaten there before, and taken to go. The establishment is clean. A lot of different types of people eating here. Before, it was a lot more Asian-concentrated(probably with Ten Ren’s next door), but it’s getting to be a more diverse clientele. That’s good! I’m happy for the business. Food is always hot by the time we get the food, and the service is pretty quick for a Hawaiian BBQ. At Ono’s, I tend to have to wait at least 20 – 30 minutes, so I’m glad L&L has a better method. Price-wise, it’s around $ 7 or $ 8, so nothing extraordinarily cheap or expensive. Overall, very satisfied and will probably be back again. Plus, lots of nostalgia coming over here, as it was one of the first stores open in that center, along with Starbuck’s and Coldstone’s.
