Mwave

I debated between 1 – 2 starts, and would do 1.5 if I could. My original order went fine, probably because I didn’t need to deal with anyone in Customer Service. I only ordered from them because they had a decent price and advertised quick shipping (their definition of quick is definitely different than mine). Apparently for in-​stock items you need to allow plenty of time (day, week, MONTH) for them to pick-​pack-​ship your order. This wasn’t a huge deal as it wasn’t a dire need, but just a minor upgrade to my computer. Some time passes and the part begins to fail. I contact the manufacture and they assure me there wont be a problem but all RMAs must be processed by your reseller as they can get a replacement part from the distributors as they do not ship directly to customers (Company is based in Hong Kong). I said this is fine as I don’t only know where I bought it from but still have my invoice. I call up mwave and get a pleasant sounding woman stating she is customer service, but doesn’t ask me if I have an issue or even why I am calling. I say hello and state my issue. Before I have finish speaking she begins talking over me telling me they only have a 30 day return policy. I then try to explain again that I was following the manufacturers instructions and she again began talking over me with the same comment about a 30 day return policy. No matter what I said I got the same (broken record) response. Even when I asked if she had a supervisor I received the same reply. Eventually I got her to state she had a supervisor and got to spend much longer than I should have asking to speak with them. Eventually I got dead silence for almost a full minute and a man responded to one of my many «hello, is anyone there» questions. I asked if he was a supervisor and he stated he is a manager. I explained the situation again. He seemed to understand and asked for my order number which I provided. He then went into saying they only have a 30 day return on that item. I again stated that I am not trying to return, I am trying to RMA the item for repair or replacement. He again repeated they only have a 30 day return policy on that item. It would seem that his definition of return is different than mine. I repeated that I was instructed to contact them by the manufacturer. To which he stated I would need to contact them. At which I replied, I already did as I just stated. He then stated I would need to get something in writing from them stating that they need to process the RMA. I stated it is on the warranty and RMA policy on their website stating this is the process. He then said «Well goodbye». To which I told him I was going to complain and he said «Good». I followed by stating I would file a complaint with the BBB and he replied stating I definitely should especially on the Friday before a holiday weekend and should make sure I follow through. I have since contacted the manufacturer and they suggested a different reseller who is willing to work with me. I have also sent this same complaint to the BBB and the manufacturer about mwave.

Horrible customer service and terrible product.
I purchased 4 projector lamps from mwave since it were reasonably priced at the end of February 2015. I finally got around to replacing the original lamp last week on mid-​April. Low and behold! All 4 lamps were defective. I tried contacting them for a refund since I purchased one directly from the OEM manufacturer which works.
No refunds, only replacement and if I wanted replacements I would have to send it in at my expense.
It seems like they’re business tactics is to basically sending out defective products hoping that customers miss the «return date». It is companies like mwave that drives consumers like me to big companies instead of supporting smaller businesses. Truly buyer beware!

After searching for new lamp, for my Sony TV, this place had the best price and it was a plus it was located 35 minutes away. I called, the sales person was very helpful and my order was waiting for me when I arrived. Thanks for being open on Christmas Eve!

Classic bait-​and-​switch marketing techniques. I found two monitors on
for a great price & ordered a pair right away. Received order confirmation email, items were in stock and ready to ship that day.
30 minutes later, I received an email stating that the monitor sku I bought was out of stock and it wasn’t expected back in stock soon, and that my order was being cancelled.
I checked the website, there was plenty of stock, just at a much higher price.
Mwave refused to fulfill my original order, calls & emails to their customer service line didn’t resolve the issue, got passed around to a few confused people, who eventually put me on hold, came back and told me that the price was a mistake, and they wouldn’t honor it.
I reported Mwave to the Federal Trade Commission for fraudulent business practices yesterday. An ethical business would have honored the pricing ‘mistake’ taken their lumps and shipped the product.
I worked for two separate IT VARs in the last 15 years, and in every case where we truly made a pricing mistake on our website, we fulfilled the order. Won’t ever do business with these guys again.

Extremely expensive and no free shipping. Management doesn’t listen to customer needs. Owner whose name is Jon Lee is an extremely frugal person and won’t spend extra money to improve the UI on their website. Was extremely saddened that Mwave laid off 100+ employees in Summer 2009 because they weren’t doing that great including my friend’s dd. Only time I shopped here when my friend’s dad was an employee who worked here and didn’t charge me that ridiculous will-​call fee.
Also, they treat their employees like crap. The HR person Judy is mean. Shipping charges are expensive $ 80.00 — really for 2 days!!! to my house in Arcadia? Amazon ships it free. Poor customer service (btw they have less than 20 on staff) and customer service is grouchy.
Also, Mwave isn’t what they used to be. They’ve been out competed in the last 20 years by
and Amazon. Starting out as Anson Computers in the City of Industry as an Acer computer store, they eventually expanded. Over the course of the last 20 years, they moved several times location-​wise from City of Industry on Valley to their final place now in Walnut. However, business in the last 5 years didn’t seem that great. They’re getting desperate they’re even selling jewelery and non-​computer related items. As a result, not only are their shipping charges expensive and their products are above market price but they’re losing their brand identity known to sell computers.
I hope they improve their UI on the website. It’s impossible to find things I want without long browsing through a catalog-​like system. Both Amazon and NewEgg offer customers to narrow their searches. Mwave doesn’t. I wouldn’t buy from them because the way they treat employees and because they are pricy.

This is a terrible company to deal with! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!! I have purchased two bulbs for my TV. The first time the bulb failed, they said the could not exchange because I did not have the box it was shipped in. They gave me a small break on a new bulb so I bought it and this time I saved the box. Now the second bulb failed after using for only 6 months. I called and told them I have the box this time and need to exchange. They told me the warranty was for only 150 days now and that was it. I explained I had done this before and had the box. She said they used to do that but not now. The customer service was rude and really didn’t care that I was extremely frustrated that they would not honor their original warranty agreement. again, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! They do not care about you as a customer and they will not stand by their product!!!

Purchased a bulb for my TV. My TV shows 202 hours on the bulb and now am getting end of life. It is out of the 90 day warranty (8 months), so they say I am out of luck. Their response says the bulbs last 2000 – 3000 hours which is about 6 months, so my bulb lasted longer than expected.
Well, if I was watching 80 – 100 hours of TV a week, I would agree. But I watch 5 – 10 hours of TV a week, so getting less than 10% hours on this bulb.
I understand warranties, and I didn’t expect a full refund, but even a gesture of 10% off a replacement bulb would have been appreciated.
Also, when I emailed them, I received four emails asking me «how I can help.» Their actual response to my request did not get emailed to me, but only was available by logging back into their site. (Which I didn’t know until I logged back in… of course.) And when I emailed using the
email that was in their email to me, my email bounced.

I ordered a replacement lamp for my TV and made sure I gave them all the information necessary to deliver however they didnt get my apartment number to the UPS label and 12 days later I still havent received what I ordered. Today I found that UPS has returned the item. I called Mwave and Sergio told me that there is nothing he can do. I will have to wait until the package arrives back to them and they will credit me back. What a hassle, I gave them all the info and re-​confirmed with Mwave that they had all my info which they did. They dropped the ball and I am back at square one. AVOID MWAVE ~ AVOID THE HEADACE ~ AVOID THE HASSLE

The place is horrible. I spent 60 dollars on a new bulb for my TV and it was out in 2 months. When I called for help they told me I had to pay to send it back and that it is what it is because they are generic. Stay far away from them. Nasty customer service as well.

A month or less ago, I bought a new ASUS laptop that still had Windows 7 (which I wanted), the price was very good online from Mwave and I was happy. WELL. Today I called to buy a similar new ASUS for a friend in another state. Because the «ship to» and «billing address» were going to be different, a polite sales woman told me they had to get my bank to approve. What?, I said, I never heard of that. She said I could call my bank and let them know and it would be faster. I called my bank, BMO Harris (not tiny) and the local officer never heard of this, nor did the people at the main bank account service. When I called Mwave back, I got a young man who grew unpleasant and said that’s the way it is for debit or credit cards and accused me of not believing him. I said of course I believed him (and the first girl) but I was already a customer, had an account, etc. He said I could only buy with AMEX and ship to another address. TOUGH DO-​DO was Mwave’s policy bottom line and from that rude little s – t! NEVER EVER WILL I SHOP WITH THEM AGAIN. My friend went to FRY’S Electronics and bought the Win. 8 new ASUS for only $ 10 more. What idiots own Mwave? I am so sorry I spent my money with them. But, I love the ASUS laptop.

Nice place to buy electronics and computer hardware. A long time ago, it was my go to place to order online. However, over the years it hasn’t kept up with the others and has fallen down my list several notches. Their customer service and delivery is great, but their prices and selection hasn’t grown to match some of their competitors that I use more often. I will price shop between them and Mwave is oftentimes the loser.
However, when I do find an item I want, I never have any issues with them.

This company USED to be good. That isn’t the case any more. I ordered a replacement lamp for a Toshiba DLP TV. First lamp was broken in the box. Ordered a return/​RMA. Second lamp was defective and flickered. Ordered a return. They sent a shipping label by email which I printed after discussing with them. I sent both lamps back. 3 months later I get an email saying «We haven’t received the RMA, and will charge your credit card if you don’t call within 24 hours.» I called. They proceeded to lecture me that I should have printed separate labels for each lamp from the 2 emails they sent me (I got ONE email) because «It’s just common sense that you can’t use the same label twice». Well, obviously you can because I did. How exactly they would expect me to know how their returns process works I couldn’t say. They still show never received and will now probably charge me (I got so irritated I gave the TV away and got a new LED one so I never have to order anything from Mwave again).

Got the Seagate hard drive from
a few months ago. When I received the package, the hard drive was just wrapped in bubble wrap. No box. I had a little doubt but gave it a try any way. Well, the hard drive failed after 1 week of using. Contacted MWave and get it replaced. The replacement hard drive came exactly as the first one, bubble wrapped without original box. The hard drive failed again after a few weeks. I tried to contact them again but they never got back to me. I contacted American Express to resolve the issue but
lied to Amex about me being not contacting them. Well I figure I would give them another chance and contact them again to get a refund. This time, I got the email with the RMA# but it was only for return/​exchange. I called them up and they told me that they couldn’t issue a refund because it has been more than 30 days since I purchased it. I also mentioned about the product does not come with the original box and the girl told me that they do send out refurbished products. I think what I got is a refurbished product and NOT a new one. I wanted to talk to her manager but she said the guy was out for lunch… at 2:30pm. I also asked to get the replacement in a different brand but she said they couldn’t do that.

Ok only reason 1 stars Ive got some great deals at times yes, when they have a good deal on what you know is a good product buy it, otherwise buy from newegg
Reason I’m posting here? They remove bad reviews from their website/​dont post them…
I bought watches, 5 of them, all 5 either broke within first few weeks, or actually came NEW in the box already broken hands off rattling around etc… and they would not take my returns.
Ive picked up many items at their willcall dept before, and they dont seem to have much a clue whats going on in that place, very few that work there know much about any of the products.
So, good prices occasionally, but the customer service, fraudulent reviews and returns department that wouldn’t even take back watches i JUST received new unpacked in box… Thus stay away, newegg much better and their customer service rocks.
Also shows you how disconnected they are by not responding to any of the reviews here… anyone in the computer business should be on top of all their social media.

Very horrible /​terrible customer service front desk. Run by Chinese who does not really care about customer or even give a compliment. It was my first time ordering at Mwave and I decided to just stop by to take order. Front desk lady says you must order first before coming to will-​call. I am like WHAT? I call them before I went and they say it is okay to just go to will call to order the thing you need.
I will NEVER, NEVER buy from them. They charge $ 5.00 fee for picking up their will call where other will-​call charge FREE.

Very mediocre, the only reason I come here is because it’s about five minutes from home, much closer than any other electronics retailer.
Customer service is nothing to write home about, not friendly at all. I’m sure if you get some bums from Best Buy or Fry’s to work at Mwave, nobody would notice a difference in service.
And I still can never understand why I have to pay $ 5 just to pick up an item. They occasionally have free shipping offers, but I still have to pay $ 5 just to pick up the item. Really? I do more of the work involved and as a reward, I pay more for handling?

From good… to bad… to Getting worse
Mwave seems to only be as good as their last sale. Was the part you purchased from them bad… what did they do to correct it… how helpful was their Tech Support.
I used to feel like the people at MWave cared, that they were helpful, that they wanted to make the customer happy.
I think they have TOTALLY forgotten that the customer IS THE MOST IMPORTANT thing. I get this feeling all the time in dealing with them over the last 6 months.

As much as I would like to love Mwave, they gave me two lemon computers. So… that was pretty annoying.
When my old powerbook was dying and I didnt have the money for a new mac, I decided to get a netbook. They had a great deal on refurbished 8 inch eee netbooks. I went there to pick up it and it was no problem at all. But I took it home and tried to use it and if I put the lid down without shutting it off, it wouldnt turn back on. They let me send it back for free and sent me a new one about a week and a half later. The same thing happened with the new one they mailed me. So I returned it again. They let me return and all that for free. So their service was pretty good. But they really should have just given me a laptop that worked in the first place. I just make sure to kiss my new macbook pro every morning after all this.

Mwave, mwave, mwave… Ah, I remember Mwave back in the day when they were located on near San Jose Ave. and Railroad St. Now? There are conveniently located near my former dwelling (aka Parents’ house) — to a large warehouse opposite the Walnut Post Office.
Computer Parts GEEKDOM — That’s what Mwave is. Back in the days of my LAN-​partying and competative PC-​gaming, Mwave WAS THE place to order parts for a bargain and pick them up via Will Call center. Actually Mwave STILL IS the place to pick up PC parts for a great deal. Mwave and Newegg our my top places when it comes to e-​Commerce stores for computer parts.

I have put together several dozens of PC’s buying parts from Mwave. Their Will Call center has the best customer service ever experienced. If you’re a regular customer, they will know you by first name. :)
Nowadays, I don’t do much of the PC building, but I still return to them if I am in need of parts. A great thing about them is that they are open for pickup on saturdays, so you might not have to go hassle with Fry’s Electronics just yet for the weekend…
