The Joint Pizzeria & Bistro

I had free time before I had to go into work and was hungry so I figured I’d stop by the joint since it was close to work. Now the reason why I decided to come here and buy slices because I wanted better quality pizza than little Cesar’s so I was excited to find out my pizza was made fresh for me. I bought four slices for me and my coworker and it came out to be $ 5.45. I paid thinking with that price I’d get a descent size slice of great tasting pizza and couldn’t wait to eat it. So I wait and they bring the box to me and as I grab it I notice that the weight of the box felt as if it was empty so I opened it and saw my four slices of pizza was in fact equivalent to two slices of pizza.
Size was small, taste… Let’s just say little Cesar’s tastes amazing compared to it, and there was so much grease on the pizza I couldn’t eat it after a couple of bites without getting disgusted! If you were to go to Costco or pizza co., You would get bigger and better slices for less than $ 5.45 and a WHOLE pizza at Little Cesar’s for that too! Never again will I doubt little Cesar’s when it comes to fast, cheap, and descent tasting pizza!

Well that sucks. I just spent 15 minutes researching Pizza joints to order from since I’m not from this area. I finally decided on this one so I call to place my order and before I can say anything a women answers and simply says they are closed. No explanation… Nothing. Just that they closed today at 6 and will be closed until Sunday. Blah! Time to start researching again.

I got a pepperoni pizza, I wasn’t impressed, but Im gonna give it another try from looking at the pictures

Ordered the Unilocal check in deal. 14″ pizza with one topping. Pineapple was requested by my girlfriend so pineapple it was. Came with «free bread and free soda». Called in and said it’d take ~30 mins. Person who took my order sounded like she was in a rush and didn’t even take my name or number? Meh. 35 mins later we were headed to the place. When we got there it was completely empty except for one party. I picked up my order and was a bit disappointed that the soda was just a small fountain drink. For some reason I expected a two liter meh. The bread was four pieces of garlic bread. We were about to leave when I realized they didn’t give us plates. What kind of service doesn’t ask if you need plates or napkins??? She was even reluctant to give them to us! How much can two paper plates cost?
Anyway so we got back and the pizza was cold. Great. this pizza couldn’t have been out of the oven for more than 10 mins and it was cold. Ummm. Couldn’t you leave it in the oven or in something that would insulate it? Not like anything else was cooking… Anyway. They kind of skimped on the pineapple (seriously how expensive is canned pineapple?) And on the cheese… And the sauce… Some areas of the pizza were legit just dough. But I’ll let you be the judge. Garlic bread was pretty much the only thing I enjoyed. For $ 15.25 this was not worth it. Doubt they even spent more than $ 5 making the thing. Would rather have gone to a pizza hut or something. Don’t think I’ll waste my money giving them another chance.

Little pricey if you order more than an 8′ but it’s local & good. Come during lunch for the special!

The pizza there is real good quality pizza. It’s fresh made dough and sauce, and they have a stone oven, which makes the pizza taste really good. The owner there is really nice, and very warm. The prices are really good and reasonable. Definitely recommend to the pizza lovers

First time being here. I go to Mt. Sac and had a craving for some good pizza not some grease on a plate. I found this restaurant on Unilocal and came down. It was really good, the food is great and the service nothing less than awesome. I will definitely be coming back and bringing my family and friends.

Everyone I come back home I love coming to this mom and pops pizzeria. Their panini’s are insane!!! Great ambiance and great customer service. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat with a nice and relaxed setting.

This is a locally owned pizzeria near the Mt Sac campus, located in the plaza where the Chevron gas station is. I have been here since the fall semester of 2014 and I must say it is a very humble establishment. The lobby is spacious with couches and tables placed everywhere; which is great for big groups. Usually, you will see the same familiar face of the manager greeting you as you walk in. She is walks around the front and kitchen since she is normally the only one operating it all. Definitely a sign of determination on her part. However, I would advise the customer to call ahead of time to pick up their pizza since the employees/​manager wants their customers to have a fresh pizza every time they order something. The sizes vary from a personal 8“inch pizza to a whooping 28“inch monstrosity of cheesy goodness! The pizzeria also serves calzones, paninis, salads, and hot wings! You could even have a nice big cookie for desert. :) So, if you’re in the area and have a craving for pizza, give this place a try!

Man this place free consult, I tried ordering the special deal that they have and ended up paying $ 18 almost 19 dollars for one lousy cheap pizza they claim that we didn’t order the deal. The delivery guy must have ripped us off

Just moved to Walnut and saw the pizza place with my mother. We thought «why not» since we hadn’t had pizza in a long time. We looked in to find it completely empty experience for one woman. We were unsure for the place since it didn’t seem to have a good feeling at first.
We ordered The Works 14″. We waited for at minutes which we did not particularly like but I suppose I have waited longer at other restaurants. The wait was not long as well since we went to the bakery down south for our morning bread but I think I’m getting off topic here: p
We got the pizza and the smell was good on the way home and HOT! So how was the pizza? It was to our liking! The pizza had enough flavor and we enjoyed the thin crust. We would definitely try again :)

Shady owners. They lost their Unilocal deal privileges from lying.
I am with a friend of mine when this place opened.
They had a Unilocal deal for so much for so much etc.
They also had a banner up for a cheap pizza deal.
Go in they wont honor the banner. First red flag. They say it had conditions the banner says nothing about.
Friend asks about the Unilocal deal 10 for 15 or something. He asks if they will honor it if he buys it. The people agree.
He does.
They then try to get his money and say its for 10 percent off. a 10 dollar 10 percent off coupon? Scam artists. We walked out. Unilocal refunded it quickly when they learned about the attempted scam.

The wait was just way too long. If it wasn’t for the good tasting pizza, this place would have received two stars from me.
I ordered the California Love pizza in 8″ which came out to be around 8 dollars. Kinda pricy but it was good nonetheless. It came with chicken bacon avocado and sundried tomatoes. Really really good pizza not gonna lie, I was just mad at the wait. The pizza is also very oily too just an FYI.
Aside from the food, the décor of the place is nice. Very loungey as there was a couch seating area as well as tables. Service sucked only because there were two workers. I will probably come back tho to try other dishes and there is a Unilocal offer as well. I’m curious about the bread. Overall the place is not bad if you’re down for a wait and are ok with the pricing

I really want to support my neighborhood eatery but this place is horrible. They had a $ 2 for 2 slices promotion so I’d gave it a try. The total of the two pieces is like one small one-​piece slice from any other pizza place. I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was also quite salty and just not good.
I was in a hurry so I asked how long it would take for the pizza to be ready before I considered ordering — we were told 5 – 7 minutes. It took about 13 – 15 mins before I was able to leave this place.
I’m quite disappointed and not likely going to return.

It’s a very cozy pizza joint that caters to college students. A hidden gem that not a lot have discovered. Ideally, the perfect place for me.
I ordered the a Turkey Panini and added avocado and bacon. It was absolutely spectacular! If yore hungry this is definitely the place to go. They have very affordable prices and if you’re a college student they offer a 10% discount! The panini came with a small salad– also delicious– my total was about $ 9.14.
So if you’re in the area and craving a sandwich or pizza or maybe some spaghetti or lasagna, the Joint pizzeria and Bistro is definitely a spot to try!
P.S: They offer free wifi for those late night study sessions :))

This place is legit!
I originally wanted to go to Lollicup. But then I saw this place next door. So I hopped on Unilocal to see how this place is. Almost a perfect 5 stars? I gotta try it out!
I took the recommendation of the one that helped me and got the chicken and spinach pizza. The pizza tasted great! It had a good garlicky taste to it. The dough also tasted good. And the crust. The crust was bomb! It is stuffed with cheese. I bought a 14″ pizza and I couldn’t stop chowing down on it. I literally had to force myself to stop eating slice after slice after slice. lol.
Price: About $ 18. Pricey as heck. But it was worth it for a first try. I might just buy per slice next time.
Service: Really friendly.
Parking: Parking here sucks. Always packed. It’s like the shitty parking lot at Mt. SAC rubbed off onto this parking lot too.
Will I be back? You knowww it! Thank God this place wasn’t open when I was going to Mt. SAC. Wouldn’t have helped my waist line or wallet. I would be spending all my money here, instead of Super Arcade. LOL

This is one of the better pizza places in Walnut. A true treat to explore and take advantage of. They have several choices of pizza, but my recommendation would be the Godfather. This slab of pie is a meat pie with several types of cheeses with three types of herbs and spices. They also have some great garlic cheese bread that will melt in your mouth. It has just the perfect amount of cheese and the right amount of heat to have you asking for more.
Service at this location was excellent. The owner comes by your table and makes sure that you are taken care of. The staff is great as well, but the owner is hands on and also assit in making the pizzas and serving the customers.
Parking is a non issues, as they have a large you can take advantage of.

This is a reluctant 4 stars due to the power of the Godfather and Snacks BBQ Chickie pizzas… If not for those two… I may have to drop this place significantly… down past the three star range perhaps as I was not impressed with their other pies or lasagne that much…
However the service here is pretty good and the owner and staff are open to questions and helpful as can be.
I had a couple of bad points though about this place… why isnt there a bathroom or beer? pizza + beer = all is right with the world when you have a place to drain the dragon to keep your teeth from floating… argggghhhhh… =(
Pro Tip: They do pepsi stuff here, but there is a lollicup next door so you can have Boba and Pizzzzzzzaaaa PIE! ^_​^
They also have the mega massive pizza that makes for 32 slices of square cut delight… Its a massive 32″ pie or something like that… absolutely awesome looking… someone got one and carried it out while I was there and the box barely fit out the OSHA approved 36″ doorway! CRAZY AWESOME!!!
Ok now back to the pie… I am sure their reg sausage or pep or combo or whatever pie is tasty… since the sauce was good and the crust was bomb… but wow the BBQ Chickie and Godfather pies were delectable lil wonders to my poor lil tastebuds who had been so badly neglected by the bland monster lately…
The Godfather is a meat pie with lots of cheese and 3 types of herbs scattered around the pie (the owner said spices, but they were herbs I think =P). The part that really rocked for both pies, was that the sauced, cheesed, and topped both pies all the way to the edge of the cooking sheet then folded over the edge to create a tasty pocket of über delight… I WANT MORE NOW! The BBQ Chickie was a special homemade sauce from a vender who does a lot of BBQ and doesnt sell the sauce to any other pizza joints. so truly a unique one of a kind taste… It was fairly sweet, but in this case, that wasnt overkill or a bad thing. The chicken and dough offset the sweetness well enough to make it compliment and taste delish… The green onion and regular onion slices didnt distract too much… regardless it was awesome…
So even though this place is near Mt Sac aka BFE on the border of the BFIE, I may actually go back for Godfather or BBQ Chickie pie sometime…

Godfather Pizza stood out to me the most. Godfather Pizza had herbs blending in the cheese, this dynamic and bold flavor I did not expect at a small pie shop.
The California Love pizza was good, avacodo, bacon, cheese and sun dried tomatos, I believe with this pizza, reviews will differ greatly due to specific taste buds.
The Snacks BBQ Chicken pizza was good, a bit sweet for my taste but everyone else liked it, you make the call.
The Paninis were very crispy, notable mustard, subtle spinach, enjoyable.
