UPDATE: I gleefully return all my Comcast equipment, sign up with Verizon, resist the urge to fling a flaming bag of cow pies into the return box, and attempt to Eternal Sunshine this entire experience out of my mind. Unfortunately, that doesn’t work because I received a bill from Comcast for all the excellent service that I was being provided. Not a problem – I figure this is the initial bill and that my cancellation just missed the billing cycle.
Except that’s not the case, because I received another bill dated the EXACT DAY that I cancelled their service. And lucky me, the bill is almost DOUBLE the first one. So, after they «adjusted» the bill for services removed, they ended up charging twice as much – you know, because that makes complete sense. Seriously? Is their training budget so low that they can’t even show the billing department some Sesame Street reruns? Somewhere out there, Count von Count is having a psychotic break.
Run, don’t walk, away from these people and file a complaint with the Massachusetts Public Utility Authority.

iComcast is so bad, If you you have another choice for internet, go there. If I had choice, I would not have anything to do with them. Check out the other reviews, we feel the same. Do not use COMCAST they suck

Where to even begin.
I lived in Belmont and Comcast was the only option, despite my neighbors down the road being eligible for FIOS. I will say that the cable service — as in quality of the television channels and DVR services, were fine. My issue with them stems from their internet services and their shady (and I do mean SHADY) business practices.
When in Belmont, the Internet was CONSTANTLY cutting out on me. We rented equipment from them, and at one point they sent me a new modem which was about 10% better than the previous one, but still awful. Meanwhile, the ONE time they sent a tech to my house in the 10 phone calls I made regarding service, he arrived without the replacement equipment. But, Comcast DID avoid the $ 20 credit they say they will provide if a tech misses an appointment. So, apparently they can show up without being able to provide the service and it still counts.
Also during the my time, they charged me for non-​returned equipment. When I called to find out what they were talking about, they couldn’t tell me, so they removed the charge. One has to wonder how much success they have with adding ficticious charges and having customers pay for them without question.
Recently, I called again to sign up for service for my move to Watertown. I was weighing them against RCN and FIOS (both of which are also available in the area). I was hesitant because of having so many issues, but the guy on the phone pitched me an INCREDIBLE deal. The key point? The this was a SET rate — not a promotional rate, not an introductory rate, a SET rate. I said «wow, you mean I can have this rate forever until I change services» and he said «yes». I was thrilled, and said sign me up.
Then I got the confirmation email. The rate was not as promised, it was a six-​month rate, which was clearly stated on the confirmation.
I called back and worked my way up the chain of customer service «professionals». For what it’s worth, I think the guy I ended up talking to believed me when I said I’d been promised a set rate, and not an introductory rate. However, there was nothing they would do about the fact that I’d been lied to. They said they offer a 30-​day refund policy if you aren’t happy with the service, and that what applied here. So, in other words, you can be sold a program that doesn’t exist, and when you insist they honor their rate, they fall back on their refund policy and say «too bad, so sad».
I cancelled and signed up with RCN. I won’t give crooks my money, and I’m considering contacting the BBB about their shady sales practices.

I don’t know anyone in my circle of friends who likes having Comcast. Sure, it might be slightly better than RCN, and even then that’s questionable. Verizon’s FIOS services definitely puts it to shame and is more affordable. Comcast’s equipment is just terrible — it freezes a lot and their customer service is questionable.
So why would I venture into this location? To drop off my equipment and close an account I’ve had with them for almost eight and half years. I had been living in Comcast-​only locations in the past but my new place in Waltham has FIOS! I switched with the slightest of hesitations and have been very satisfied since… however there was an issue. Comcast claimed that I was missing a piece of equipment which I had clearly returned YEARS ago. Not months, years! I had already tried to deal with that in the past and had an «open investigation ticket» for a while, but the woman at this place didn’t care and wouldn’t let me explain and close my account. I had to go home and place another five different phone calls which eventually lead to them closing the investigation TWO WEEKS later. Ridiculous and pathetic.
While this location is conveniently located and has a decent amount of street parking, the woman was pretty slow and I had to wait much longer than I cared to to drop my stuff off. Also the missing piece of equipment lead to long waits for the people behind me. Why was she working alone?
Honestly, I’ve been very underwhelmed by this company which ranks near the top of America’s worst companies. Experiencing their pricing, support and service and you’ll easily be able to understand why. No thanks.
