EDIT: I JUST saw the owner comment here (7 months later). The fact that you would say you «keep in direct contact» with customers about when they should arrive is a joke. My boyfriend and his friend waited MORE THAN AN HOUR after when they were scheduled to fly. Nothing was said. No one called. No one was in the office. THAT delay had absolutely nothing to do with the wind. It had to do with the fact that your flight instructor NEVER SHOWED UP until an HOUR AFTER the scheduled time and NO ONE WAS IN THE OFFICE.
Your response is completely rude and unapologetic just as we found our experience to be other than the flight. If you are in the city, there are plenty of places on Long Island that will give you a better experience than this place. Especially taking into account the assholeish response with a smiley face at the end.

Long story short, this is a long drive from NYC and I would recommend going to another flight school before making the trip up here. I know people who have had good experiences at locations closer, they were incredibly unprofessional.
I purchased two Gilt certificates — one for my boyfriend and a friend of his for an intro flight lesson on his birthday. They called me the day before the flight to push the time of our flight up two hours from 10am to noon. I had booked the flight lessons in January, they called me the day before to change the time? Not really a problem, but a little annoying because I had things planned for later in the day.
When we got to the airport, we were about 15 minutes early for the scheduled time which I had JUST discussed with them the day before and NO ONE was in the office. We wandered aimlessly through their offices with 3 – 4 other confused customers who also had their flight time scheduled for noon (???). A man who worked for them came in, asked us if the office was just open when we arrived with no one in it, as though it was our fault for being there alone. He never acknowledged when someone would be arriving for their scheduled flight lesson or apologized for the delay. Fast forward AN HOUR LATER, the instructor finally shows up, again not acknowledging how late he was or that they had now waited over an hour for him to show up.
The only thing that makes this not a 1 star review is that the instructor made the experience incredibly memorable for my boyfriend and his friend. It was a fun time that they will be talking about for a long time. I just wish we had chosen a different flight school.
