No human being should have any sort of problem locating what they’re looking for at Viscount. Should a minor problem arise, it would behoove you to ask one of the ever-​helpful staff members for some assistance. There are copious amounts of choices here, so there’s a bit of something for everyone.

There are only two liquor stores in Dutchess County that you need to know about — Viscount, and Arlington Liquors on 44. (Let’s not get into NY State’s ridiculous laws that isolate wine and liquor from beer and vice versa, because the beer conversation is a whole different thing.)
Viscount is huge. The selection is vast (they break out the Bordeaux by vintage, for Pete’s sake.) The prices are excellent — get yourself one of their freebee discount cards, because not only do they whack prices off of current inventory but you rack up points fast and get cash (against purchases…) in exchange. The staff is friendly and helpful (OK, one or two of the cashiers are perhaps a little cool… but whatever! The people roaming the floors are both knowledgeable and nice.) Arlington is closer to me, but when I’m stocking up or loading up for a party or just in the mood for some fun grown-​up window shopping… I’ll swing by Viscount.
Also, the reserve room is pretty outstanding if you really, really need something super-​duper special.

Great place. Think of Stop N Shop or Pathmark or the A&P for liquors and wine. Its HUGE! like mammoth! you need a shopping cart to get around this place with so much to choose from! We ordered our wine wedding favors here and it was great… the label printing was free and they loaded the boxes right into my jeep and everything.

It’s whiskey Wednesday. Great wine selection for that avoid grapaholic in the house. Also amazing selection of hard alcohol. Hey have a «point system» where you can rack up points and save money.

Best selection of wine and liquor in the area. Staff is very knowledgable and helpful. I was hosting a themed office party and a kind gentleman helped me choose wines that went with the theme, my food selections and fit my budget! Staff at the front at checkout is also friendly.

I love Viscount wine and liquors they offer a very wide selection of hard liquors cordials specialty items as well as wines from local wineries as well as wines from all over the world.
There is a large selection of glassware, gift items and small sample size bottles that you can buy.
The employees here are always very friendly and offer to help you find something, box up your items or even carry them to your car and load them for you.
The rewards program I can’t say enough about! You can accumulate points towards money off purchases I just was able to cash in points today and receive a savings of $ 25 off my total purchase that’s huge!
They are reasonably priced on all items so if you haven’t check them out as they frequently so tastings there of different things with sales reps in that feature their products.

The most amazing store for wine and liquor! This place has the biggest selection I’ve ever seen. They have the wines divided by country of origin with easy-​to-​see signs hanging from the ceiling. The Yellow Tail section is very well stocked with full variety of both 750ml and 1.5 liter bottles at a great price. Huge liquor selecting as well. Very nice and helpful staff.

Without question, the largest and best selections of wines and liquors available. I’ve been a customer for many years (even obtaining a «price advantage card») and have yet to be disappointed with their stock and friendly staff. It’s actually quite a distance from my home, but I make it a point to visit every so often. When in the Wappinger’s area, stop in and look around. It’s like a supermarket for wines and liquors and highly recommended. Very fair prices.

If I had known that moving to Washington, meant 18 per cent taxes on alcohol, i would not have been complaining about cashiers bad service in NY… better to have great prices than fake, friendly cashiers, selling alcohol with 18 per cent taxes!

Okay — I’m updating my review because I ran in again last minute — 25 min before closing and this time the staff was very friendly and very helpful.
I love that they sell local ny wines — wish they carried my favorite local wine from Robibero winery called Rabbits Foot (I did not ask if they carried it but I did not see it anywhere in the NY section which is why I figure they don’t carry it).
I was in need of se help picking out a champagne for a couple that I honestly don’t know of they drink it or like it. But I’m giving it as a gift for a special celebration so I wanted something that is a crowd please.
The gentleman who helped me seemed very knowledgeable and helped me pick a champagne from Brotherhood Winery.
Having their discount card I saved a few bucks off the bill. I’m now a fan and will be back!

Even if I know I just need ONE bottle of vodka for the evening, I leave everytime with 50 – 100 $ worth of booze. I mean come on, I cant justify getting only ONE.
It’s the ultimate candy store for adults. If you had something once and can’t find it in your local liquor store, Viscount prob has it. Not to mention if you sign up and get the free membership thing for your keys, you save an extra few bucks on various labels and rack up points. Every so many gets you money off your bill-​SCORE!
Everyone is always extremely helpful, aside from the few standoffish female employees I sometimes come in contact with [wtf are you all on your periods this week??] and the selection is mind blowing. I could easily lose an hour in here venturing around.

I have never ever been in a wine and liquor store with more choices.
I was looking for a couple of bottles to give as gifts. I wasn’t sure about the wine I picked so I asked for advice. The gentleman was very happy to answer my questions.
What a beautiful store. And laid out by country or state so it was easy to find what you want.

Place was packed on a Sunday afternoon.
Wish they had beer since that was our need for the day.
But will say, just in the 3 minutes of being there, I could see a awesome selection of wines and very friendly staff.

We have shopped here for 11 years. They have great selection. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, especially Daniel.

I first started shopping at VIscount about 20 years ago, after I met someone who works there. It completes my «personal triple crown» of favorite liquor stores in the area. It’s the largest of those 3, but also the one farthest away, so I usually don’t shop here unless I’m in the area, or unless I’m looking for a somewhat special bottle of wine.
The wine department is what’s of interest to me due to its size, organization, and variety. I’ve gotten good recommendations on selections when I’ve asked.
There are lots of in-​store specials with your membership card. These will often shave a few dollars off the purchase of particular bottles.
But the one thing you won’t find here is really discounted wine. Sometimes I’m more in the mood to impress my wallet than my palate. And for that, I think the other liquor stores I visit provide better deals. That, and I don’t want to spend more on the gasoline to get me there than the bottle of wine itself.

I’ve been going to Viscount for years — they are & always will be the «go to» wine store. Check out their «rewards» program — very friendly & knowledgeable staff/​owners — they have never tried to up-​sell me when asking about choices or just good wines.

BIg Stores like this are like Walmart of Wine and Liquor. They hurt smaller stores in the area. I Shop Local at Family Buisness!

Huge place, great selection, good prices, great people. It’s like the «Home Depot» of liquor, they have EVERYTHING!

For my 100^th update I return almost a year later to The Mothership of my wine buying proclivities. See, I do not have a wine drinking problem. I apparently have (not officially diagnosed or anything) a wine buying problem… Guess things could be worse! ;)
Though the weather has taken a chilly turn, the Days of Sangria and Roses are not too far off from returning so (as if I needed an excuse) we stopped in at Viscount. Try as he did to help me exercise some restraint, poor The L. was simply not able to reach me in the far depths of my wine buying mind… Which is OK because I make a mean Sangria! :)
I found Viscount to be as varied, friendly and fairly priced as before on all my other expeditions (!) there. For a big store, it can feel like a shoppe especially when one is lucky enough to catch the attention of one of their knowledgeable sales associates and wine enthusiasts!
There really are no downsides to Viscount and they remain my favorite despite my throwing the love around to other sellers. I like to be equal opportunity and grateful for the bounty of the vine. Now I just got to drink some!
