History

Established in 1936.

In 1936, Nat Falk opened a men’s clothing store on Main St. in Ware, Massachusetts. He He and his wife, Tillie, ran the store during a time of flourishing Main Street businesses, with dozens lining both sides of the street.

In 1948 Jozeph Lask moved to Ware, after surviving the horrors of Auschwitz Concentration Camp and the Warsaw Ghetto. He came to Ware speaking only broken English, but was a quick learned, and learned English from the nuns at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Joe began working for Nat shortly thereafter, and became a full business partner in the mid 1960s.

At Nat’s passing in 1977, Joe worked with Tillie Falk to buy out her share of the business, and became the sole owner. In 1983 his son, Charlie Lask, came to work for his father at the store, and in 1989 Joe Lask retired, and Charlie bought the business to carry on the family legacy.

Main St. in Ware is no longer the central shopping location of the Pioneer Valley as it once was, but Nat Falk’s is still going strong.

Business Owner

Charlie Lask has been the owner of Nat Falk, Men’s Clothing, since buying the business from his father, Jozeph Lask, in 1989. Charlie is the principal buyer and manager of the store, and holds to the tradition of incredible customer service upheld by his father before him, and started by Nat Falk himself back in 1936.

A musician in his spare time, Charlie often recalls the choice he faced in the late 80s, between taking over the store or continuing to tour with his band. The success of Nat Falk through the decades is a testament to what Charlie says was «obviously the right choice»!
