OMNI Heating & Cooling

I am a very tough customer for home improvement and utilities-​type work, and I give OMNI an emphatic 5 star review. They were priced right from the start (4^th company I looked at), and not pushy with me at all.

Nice to get professional service at a fair price! Starting with the presentation, Karis sincerely tried to customize the heat pump system to meet my needs. After weighing all options and getting his opinions, I decided on a Goodman unit. I am convinced that Goodman is as reliable as other brands based on input from a few sources. If there is any anecdotal evidence that Goodman is not as reliable, it is because some manufacturers require higher standards and training of their installers (Omni also sells Carrier, so no worries there) and the fact that some folks buying a more budget-​based system may sacrifice quality with install by choosing least expensive contractor.
Case in point, I had a Lennox unit that had to be replaced twice in about 9 years due to a bad install by Stanley Cooper — stay away from them as they did not stand behind their work when the unit failed after just 2 years due to «green slime» which Lennox blamed on install. Cost me $ 2,000 in labor to replace a 2 year old unit under warranty! Now whole system needed to be replaced with same problem.
I had install today by Omni Heating and Cooling of Goodman unit which was less money and more efficient (Karis had better warranty, too) than competitors. Karis allowed me to look at all options of inside air handler and showed me important energy efficiency ratings of each combo. Kevin and crew installed and they were awesome; professional, careful, and personable.
Bottom line, get a couple of quotes from whoever you want and have Karis come in last, Put aside a couple of hours for him to explain all options. I doubt you will choose anyone else after speaking with him. Very rare I give reviews like this, usually burnt by contractors, but Karis and his guys deserve it and I know how hard it is to find good HVAC contractors — hope this helps!

I met with 6 companies before choosing an HVAC company for a new system (i.e. heater, AC, and duct work) in my house and Omni beat them all in professionalism, expertise, responsiveness and the price was reasonable. Karis impressed me when he took the measurement of each room of my house to measure the air pressure and determine the size of the system required in my home (none of the other companies did this by the way). The proposal was very detailed and everything was written. Now that the work is completed I can speak to the quality of the work, my house has a very clean job with the system taking the minimal amount of space needed. Omni does not nickel and dime and they really want to please the customer. This has become my go to heating & cooling company. These guys are very honest folks which is rare with businesses these day. Keep up the good work Omni. I highly recommend Omni.

Have to downgrade my rating. I am disappointed in how unreliable their service department is. They never arrive within the 2-​hour window of time they are supposed to. Currently the service guy is two hours late, which means I’ve been waiting for four hours, and no sign of him in sight. Mind you, this is a service call on a unit that was newly installed in June. The AC ran fine all summer long, but when I tried to turn on the heat the unit didn’t work. I’m quickly becoming disenchanted with these folks.

Great service, prompt, reliable and best prices in the area. Installed 2 heating furnaces in our places in fishtown. Would use again in a heartbeat and recommend to our friends.

We recently used Omni Heating and Cooling to replace a boiler in a rental property. They were 1. Extremely easy to do business with; 2. Very reasonably priced; 3. Extremely professional; and 4. Got the job done quickly and as promised.
I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone who needs any type of hvac work. Contractors and home maintenance companies are so often unreliable, overpriced and difficult to do business with. Omni is the exact opposite of that.
