Schuster’s Service Center

This one may sound a bit strange at first, due to the fact that I’ve never been to Schuster’s but feel compelled to give them 5 stars and an excellent review anyway. Let me explain:
I am not a mechanic as you will soon ascertain for yourself, but I do try to fix things on my own as much as I am able. Yesterday my wife was driving our 2008 Town & Country minivan when she hit a curb. The mechanics under the hood jarred enough that a small plastic «Y» on the coolant line from the heater broke. She drove it home, steaming engine and all. I replaced the «Y» with a brass T-​joint from the hardware store since nobody had the replacement part. I also replaced a bit of the coolant that I assumed was lost. When I started it up, the temperature gauge went into the red zone after less than 2 miles. I figured something else must be wrong and I’ll just have to take it in.
Everyone I called told me to bring it in and there would be about a $ 60 diagnostic fee which would be applied to the repair (and I called 6 different shops) which might run a few hundred dollars.
Then I spoke to Matt at Schuster’s. He’s their mechanic. He spoke with me for about 5 minutes over the phone and walked me through step-​by-​step what else I could try. One of the things he said was to see if heat was blowing through when the engine was hot. If not then I likely need to just add more lost fluid. He also explained why. He was right. And he saved me who knows how much money?
I can say this: The next time I do need any repair work, I’m going to Matt at Schuster’s.

Good place for car repair work. They were done on time, and didn’t add «miscellaneous» this and that like the dealer does. Fair price. Plus they have Towne Club soda!
