Really great Chinese buffet. Probably the best I’ve ever been to. Well how many more words do I have to put in here to make this post?

This place is a rip off. The food was bland and basically just crap. The refused to put food out in the buffet, their«sushi» bar was basically rice with imitation crab meat plus it’s relatively expensive especially since the food was no good. Won’t go back

Considering that this Chinese buffet is located in the North Warren strip mall, it’s pretty darn good, though there isn’t much competition with which to compare it. Since Warren is an isolated little nowhereville dump of a town, it only has a local following. It’s OK to go there if you aren’t local, but if you want to fit in, you should weigh over 200 pounds minimum(females included), wear a ridiculous looking baseball cap while eating and a shirt with some stupid saying on it such as «I do sex for beer.» The more idiotic, the more local you will appear to be. The Chinese food is, of course, rather Americanized in order to make it taste like what the typical Warrenite thinks Chinese food tastes like. However, the place is big, with reasonable prices, a wide variety and, unlike most Chinese buffets, spotlessly clean. I even checked out the kitchen, which was also clean. If located in a bigger city or up against some competition I probably wouldn’t rate it four stars or be a fan of it, but with so few places to choose from in a town like Warren, I’m pretty much forced to be a fan of Variety Buffet whether I like it or not. If you can’t tell from my tone, if I were to rate the area in which it is lodcated, namely Warren, I would have to go into the negative minus stars, which isn’t in the Unilocal offering.

This was the second Chinese place I tried in Warren, in my quest for really good Chinese food. I will say that it’s better than the first place I tried(the tea is way better), but it’s still not going to make me forget anyplace in Hong Kong or Chinatown. Although, to be fair, I should really try ordering off the menu, as food kept on steam tables always suffers in comparison with food which has been cooked to order. Certainly the name is well chosen: the variety of dishes on offer at the buffet is definitely wider, and includes Chinese dishes, western-style food, and even, much to my astonishment, sushi.
