We are a full-​service, family-​owned jeweler and retailer specializing in unique, hand-​made, designer collections and distinctive gifts. First among our goals is the personalized and detail-​oriented service to each and every customer that only independent, small businesses can offer.

History

Established in 2004.

The building in which we are located has served as Warrenton’s premier jewelry boutique, Hurst Jewelers, since its construction, so it only made sense that we chose this location to open our jewelry and gift store. Furthermore, our family operated a landmark Main Street retail business for over 30 years, and the Hursts were long-​time family friends, so it is our pride and pleasure to continue the tradition of providing warm, neighborly service and outstanding shopping selection to Old Town Warrenton.

Meet the Business Owner

Kathleen N.

Business Owner

After several years as a bench jeweler, Kathleen spent nearly a decade managing one of the top jewelry stores in Charlottesville, Virginia. While there, she earned her GIA certifications in diamond and colored stone grading. With a desire to branch out and open her own business, to include gifts in the model of the classic jewelry stores, she and her husband Carter returned to Warrenton to establish Carter & Spence in the vacancy on Main street left after the retirement of Margaret and Clifton from their decades of operating Hurst Jewelers.

When she is not seeking out the next great jewelry designer or perfect gift, Kathleen devotes her time as a member of the local Garden Club, to her church and son’s school, and to being a devoted mother and avid, competitive athlete.
