Coutu Brothers did an absolutely amazing job! They made it so easy in helping me relocate out of state and even made multiple stops prior to my final destination to pick up items. They were very professional and courteous and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking to get help while moving.

Coutu Brothers Moving did an exceptional job with our recent move. I called the office about two weeks before our move to compare rates with other movers in the area. They offered a competitive rate and explained how everything would work and how I would be charged. After calling some other companies, I decided to book Coutu Brothers. A few days before the move they called to confirm times and locations.
On the morning of the move three workers and a truck arrived shortly before 8:00 and got right to work. Matt, Anthony, and Alex were extremely professional, quick, and friendly– talking to us throughout the move and double checking if what they were doing was ok. We moved from a 2^nd floor apartment to a 1^st floor, and they handled everything quicker than I expected and very carefully. When they arrived at our new apartment they checked on all the rooms so they would be familiar with the layout and would know where to place things. All in all it took about 4 hours to move us out of our 2^nd floor, 5 room apartment and into our new place. (It actually took a little longer, but they only charged for 4 hours).
I couldn’t recommend them enough– they really did a great job!

Coutu Brothers moved me on one of the hottest days so far this summer! Not once did the guys complain! They arrived early on Tuesday ⁷⁄₂₈ ready to work. The team leader Matt introduced me to Sammy and Anthony — all three of whom were complete gentlemen. I called just two weeks ahead as this move was sudden for me. The office staff were very nice and clearly explained the pricing — no hidden fees or charges with these folks! Big plus right there!
I work FT and care for my mother, so it goes without saying that my spare time is extremely limited. Murphy’s Law — when you are trying to squeeze in some extra time for packing and prepping to move, Mom had a few setbacks. Not wanting to have the moving crew walk in to a partially packed apartment, I called the day before to let Bob know I was not completely ready for the move — he was very kind and assured me the team he was sending would help me out.
It was so nice to have Matt walk in and let me know Bob told them about my situation and they wanted me to not stress — they «were there to take care of me» for the move. Everything was handled with care and a couple of antique items I have were carefully wrapped and padded.
I moved out of a 2^nd floor unit into a home with a tricky entryway — these guys made it look like a cakewalk. Neither my belongings or any of the walls/​glass doors were damaged and it was handled so quickly I was shocked. They even helped with the placement of my furniture and asked me where I wanted the cartons.
It was evident that these guys really care about what they do for their customers. They work fast but not reckless.
What a dramatic difference from my prior experience with another moving company. I was quite uncertain about using another mover yet did not have the time to go the DIY U-​Haul route. I used a different local mover two years ago (AMS) and had to deal with them smoking in the truck with my furniture and belongings! It took longer and they were not as careful.
Would I recommend Coutu Brothers or use them if I needed to again? — YES!

This company moved my family into our new home yesterday. They were great! Hard working, friendly and fun! They got our move done fast and right! I would absolutely rehire them again if I needed movers. Thanks guys!!!

These lowly pieces of garbage had the nerve to break my bedframe and then blame it on me. Probably the least professional moving company I’ve ever dealt with. They really need to screen their staff more carefully and hire people who are actually competent.

I highly recommend this company for your moving needs. I moved a piano and several antiques and the crew was careful and polite, worked diligently to complete the move quickly and efficiently. The owner was nice to deal with and accommodating, as I scheduled this move only a couple of weeks ahead of time and needed a specific date for it.

We used Coutu Brother on ⁸⁄₁₅. We had previously used another moving company that did not have this date available. We didn’t know what to expect. We were told we would have 3 movers and a truck for the set fee. To be fair, 2 movers hustled. One walked around aimlessly distracting the other 2. We had a 4 bedroom house that our other movers moved within 5 hours and every man hustled. This moving company took 6.5 hours for 3 bedrooms and wouldn’t take bins neatly packed with clothes because there weren’t covered which led us to have to go back to the old house and move the rest ourselves. An older big screen TV had the wires ripped off of it. My daughters bureau was scratched badly with the door hanging off. He had me do a review right in front of the non-​worker. I was very disappointed in my moving experience and don’t recommend them. The office staff was very kind and professional though.

VERY HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!! This company has a very friendly staff that is knowledgeable, caring, safe, thoughtful and hard working. They wrapped everything snugly and safely! They took pride in their work but at the same time didnt slouch to get the minutes on the clock! They did a GREAT job and Im VERY HAPPY!

Moving is so stressful, but our group of guys were WONDERFUL! THANK YOU to Mike, Dylan and Johnny! You boys worked up a sweat and were TROOPERS at moving all our stuff out of our 3^rd floor apartment!
Note: I actually called People’s Moving & Storage to book movers, but the guys that showed up were from Coutu Brothers. I found out that they are related companies by a husband/​wife team. I’m not sure how I didn’t see it originally, but People’s didn’t have good reviews, but it was too late to change companies by the time I saw them. However, I am really happy to have gotten Coutu Brothers instead! Really loved my hard working guys!
They were supposed to arrive between 8 – 8:30am. My guys arrived at 7:35am (I wasn’t quite ready for them, but they started and gave me a little extra time with a start time of 7:45am).
They worked really fast in moving our furniture out for us and had our 2-​bedroom apartment moved out in about 2 hours. They were all really nice and so courteous and respectful as well (Mike was really cute in calling me «young lady» the whole day). They did a wonderful job and I would use them again in a heartbeat. The only thing I would do differently is to do a check at the end of my move to make sure all the boxes marked for the basement went down to the basement. To be fair, it my fault too since I’ve used the moving boxes before so some were marked «Bedroom» and then had a taped-​on paper marked «Basement» on the box as well. I don’t think this was done intentionally at all. It was only a few boxes that were missed. For the most part, I was telling them where to put the boxes myself when we were unloading, but these few got missed. It wasn’t too big of a deal.
All in all, my entire move took 4.25 hours INCLUDING about an hour’s drive to the new location. At the end of the move, they tack on one hour for travel and also add 10% fuel surcharge for Mass. I think it was money well spent. Really fabulous guys! Thank you again, Mike, Dylan, and Johnny!

Moving is a stressful event, and moving in freezing temperatures is a challenging event indeed. The capable crew of Barry, Michael and Raul from Coutu Brothers. Moving made this experience smooth, seamless and fun. The temperature hovered at around 15 degrees and these professional, strong, hardworking, cheerful and easy going guys got it done! It was a last minute move and not as organized as it should have been. Barry, Raul and Michael were reassuring, unruffled and FAST! I can’t thank them, and Coutu Brothers Moving, enough. They were on time, worked efficiently and were all courteous and professional.
I highly recommend Coutu Bros. Movers, be sure to ask for Barry, Raul and Michael if you can, thus were really the BEST!

I recently moved from Providence to the Boston area and used Coutu Brothers based on a friend’s recommendation. I paid exactly what they told me I would with no surprises: $ 135/​hour + 10% MA fuel charge. We even agreed on the starting time and the ending time together on the paperwork. I packed everything myself and they sent 3 guys over to move it all; they were all pretty friendly and courteous. They worked pretty fast, carried way more boxes at once than I could ever dream of doing, and even wrapped up some of the furniture in cloth. Everything went pretty smoothly (other than horrendous traffic, but that’s not their fault) and got to where it needed to go without damage; granted I had multiple family members around to help me keep an eye out on things. Of note, they do not take personal checks for payment. I’m not really sure how their pricing compares to other moving companies because I was too lazy to do my own research and just went off my friend’s recommendation; let me know if you have used more affordable ones.

I will never use Coutu Brothers again. Since it’s polite to start by saying something positive, I will say that the one star is for the movers who did hustle and moved things quickly and safely. They got a tip.
Bob Romano, however, does not get a tip. When the movers were unable to get my couch upstairs (it was too long and they couldn’t angle it in), they tried hoisting it (buyer beware — hoisting starts at $ 80/​story and they count the first floor). I’ll give it to my movers — they did try to hoist it, but they weren’t successful because they didn’t have the proper equipment. Now it doesn’t make any sense to me that a moving company wouldn’t have that type of equipment should a situation arise (which I would assume happens from time to time). At that point, the movers said that they had another job to go to and my options were (1) to leave my $ 800 couch outside (it poured later that day) or (2) pay ANOTHER crew from Coutu to come out for another $ 400 just to get the couch up. As far as I was concerned neither of those options were realistic or feasible.
I ended up hiring two guys to move the couch the next day for some under-​the-​table cash. When I wrote an email to Bob a couple of days later (after my anger had subsided), I got no apology and an offer to send another crew of guys for the bargain basement price of $ 294. No thanks, I told him. It’s already upstairs and for much cheaper I might add.
Bottom line — I felt like I got put in a really bad place by Coutu and Bob, and I will never use them again. When I told my friend what happened, she said, «You didn’t use Coutu, did you?» Why yes, I did. She said she had a similar experience. Take my advice — don’t use them.

I was majorly scammed by a moving company in the past and thus get nervous when I have to deal with moving again (you know, one of those traditional moving company scams where they hold your items hostage until you pay them extra cash), so I prefer to just get a U-​Haul and do it myself. This time, we needed to hire movers because we had a washer and dryer to move along with everything else and I didn’t want to enlist the help of friends to move items that heavy. Coutu Bros. came recommended by my parents who used them for an interstate move.
They were great. We packed items ourselves. They crew handled everything with care and were friendly. They arrived when they said they would. No tricks. It was easy to move items out of the apartment since we lived in a loft with huge doors and elevators. At the destination, we had small doors, tricky turns, and small stairs. There were some items that threatened not to fit. However, the head mover was obviously experienced with angling things just right. He directed the others and got everything in place without damage to walls, ceilings, or furniture.
Moving companies have limited liability when you pack boxes yourself. Although we packed ourselves, the crew handled the boxes with care. We didn’t have one broken item. They were all professional and seemed to not mind doing a tough job (i.e. no disgruntled employees).
I would recommend Coutu Brother Movers to friends, and I’m relieved there’s a reliable moving company in the area to use.

I will not use Coutu Brothers for any of my future moves. The truck was timely, and one of the gentlemen was fantastic. That said, I’ve used several moving companies moving the exact same furniture with no broken items on previous occasions. This move I sustained several broken items, including one that was completely ruined, and a bookshelf shelf went missing. As noted, one of the movers was wonderful — he really hustled, and was a great worker and that was reflected in his tip. One other was average and the last left a lot to be desired in terms of hardwork and professionalism. I will say that Bob Romano was very helpful in terms of my broken furniture. He was very responsive and forwarded the claims form almost immediately on my report. I did not make a claim because I had a lot of other things going on at the time, and to be honest, the furniture was not particularly nice or expensive, so I cannot comment on that process. Overall, the behavior of one mover and the broken furniture and missing shelf ruined what was otherwise on track to be a great moving experience given the price and interaction with Bob.
