NYLO Providence / Warwick

Stayed Monday and checked out on Friday. I had warm water once to shower in the morning. The other mornings the water was ice cold. I complained and received numerous excuses from run the water 15 minutes to the hotel is full and to take a shower in the evening.
GET A NEW BOILER! Until then, do not stay here. No hospitality at all.

It’s a nice place with cool decór when you first walk in. The patio area outside is beautiful and oversees the Pawtuxet River. There’s couches and other lounge-​like seating under the stars which is great. Lighting is perfect and the scene outside is jaw dropping. But there’s just something missing here. If it were in Downtown, it would make it all the more better. In the area itself, there’s simply not many other places to go. If you’re one who prefers to remain in one bar /​lounge for the night, come here. But for those more adventurous, you’ll have a tough time finding a good place to go before you end up in East Greenwich. Fat Belly’s is across the street, but that’s pretty much your only other option within walking distance. Stick to PVD as most sections offer a variety of businesses very close by.

Terrible service, they put a incidental $ 50 fee with out telling you about it. gets taking out of your card then is put back in your account 7 days later. I got switched to three different rooms. First room told me it was upgrade but it was a down grade and was gross in it. Second room floor was sticky, smelt like someone just went to bathroom before i got there, there was dried up throw up on the outside of the shower on the floor. So they switched me to the last room, were the only complaint for that room was the nicotine smell, then left over Marijuana and ashes right on the tv Guide/​arm rest of sofa. Not once did i get a «sorry for the unconvince», and every time they switched my room, they had me got get the key with all my luggage back and forth. Pretty facility, just going to waste with customer service and maintenance

Ballsy to mention Providence in the title. That will upset people. The Warwick/​Cranston area has plenty and Providence is a 15 minute drive.
Rooms are OK sized. Beautiful modern look. However, some furniture, fixtures, decorations, etc. are cheap.
No fridge. No dresser. Shower floor wasn’t properly tilted so we had standing water. Our wall unit couldn’t cool the room down properly and was noisy.
Bartenders and staff are quite friendly. Cocktails are ok. Food is good.
Although the river is quite small, I find it to be very pretty. The old, factory mill feel is really nice to look at. Definitely an improvement from your standard hotel view.
We had a groupon so we got 2 nights for around $ 270. Hilton providence would’ve probably cost around $ 340.
I would stay here again.

I stayed for three nights. I asked the front desk staff three times to address a room issue, which was never corrected. I contacted management to express my dissatisfaction after my stay was complete. I was told that the issue was repaired the first time that I asked. (It was not)
The hotel restaurant opens at 7, so the earliest that you will eat is 7:30. Not early enough for me to catch the 8 am meeting.
I am a frequent traveler and would not recommend this property based on staff attention to detail and managements interest in faulting the traveler.

Very nice hotel in the heart of Warwick with beautiful rooms, great food service and a helpful staff.
Nice whiskey selection at the bar as well!

Nice front desk staff. Good options and the service for food and drink. I have stayed there several times. Outside patio deck is a plus when the weather is nice.

Nice boutique hotel by the river. Industrial, modern and rustic decoration. Loved the polished concrete rooms, the relaxing outdoor deck and the dining hall decorations.

My boyfriend and I stayed here after going to an event nearby. The bed was comfortable, free parking was a definite plus, and the bar was pretty cool. However, one member of the front desk staff was very rude to my boyfriend, and the person who checked us in meant well but didn’t seem to be fully competent. Additionally, after leaving, my boyfriend noticed that his credit card had been charged twice, with an inexplicable charge of $ 200+ added to the actual price of the room. We were fully aware that there was meant to be a $ 50 hold (which we expected to be refunded to his card as we did not damage the room or anything inside of it) in addition to the room price, but a second charge that was well over the price of the actual stay is unacceptable. When we called to speak to someone at the hotel, the employees passed us on to the answering service for the account manager (even though they obviously aren’t around on the weekends) and didn’t seem to be invested in helping us resolve the issue. Super disappointing.
UPDATE: the refund was issued to my boyfriend’s card within a week, which is better than some other experiences I’ve had. However, I’m only bumping the rating up to 3 stars because of the multiple issues we had re: customer service.

Here’s my update:
1. Holding strong on this one. Hotels are in the business of hospitality and customer service. If a team member is lacking, maybe it’s time to review basics with the staff.
2. and 3. Upon heckling out of the hotel, Naomi asked me how my stay was. I told her of the double booked room fiasco. I also told her that I asked to speak with management and nobody contacted me. She apologized for the incident. She also said that she would call me later in the day after she brought this to managements attention. A couple of hours later, Naomi did call me. She apologized again and agreed that this should never have happened. She said that they wanted to comp us the night spent but since I booked the stay through a third party they could not. What they wanted to offer was a complimentary stay in an upgraded room which would also include breakfast for 2. Because I think that we will return to the area within the next 6 – 8 months, I said that would be fine. I appreciated Naomi’s follow through and her attempt at service recovery.
4. The air conditioning took about an hour, but it finally kicked on. Problem was the room registered 83 degrees, and was so humid that it took a pretty long time to get it to a comfortable temperature.
5. Pillows were small. No getting around that. Just seemed really odd to me. I will say that the bed was really, really comfortable.
Additional info:
Keurig machine in the room. Nice. But when I went to make coffee, I popped it open and there was a used/​poked cup in the machine.
The décor and feel of the hotel is so unique that I really want to love it. My hope is that when I return my stay will be much better.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary. It was awesome! The atmosphere was amazing. The exposed concrete and brick gave a rustic/​homey feel. We loved our room. It wasn’t huge but it was perfect for the two of us. We had a beautiful view of the river and lawn.
There was a mall next to us and so many restaurants. We were able to drive 3 minutes to target to get snacks for our room.
This hotel was so unique and awesome! I recommend it to anyone look for an interesting place to stay.

Honestly, I was not at all impressed with my stay at Nylo. To be honest I’m pretty upset. To start off the place is located in such a random location, next to a broken down building and across the mall. However, it was only 15 minutes from Providence which was very convenient.
Anyway, my boyfriend and I arrived 3 pm at check in time. We were told the restaurant would be closed for he evening due to a wedding, okay that’s fine. As soon as we entered our room we were greeted with a loud rattle and bang from our air conditioner. We quickly phoned the front desk to get someone up there. After a short wait an engineer arrived at our door. He said he would return in ¹⁵⁄₂₀ minutes and the job would take about 15 minutes to do. We said OK that’s fine. Only later to find ourselves waiting for about and hour and a half for him to return after we called the front asking when he would be back. We honestly didn’t mind at all except the fact that we couldn’t be comfortable in our own room for 2 hours of the beginning of out stay there. After driving up from NJ/​NY a rest before we started our next adventure into Providence would have been nice. Instead we had to wait 2 hours to get a new air conditioner. This should had been fixed before we entered the room. No one should walk into a room they paid money for and get greeted by a loud and obnoxious air conditioner. We were on vacation so it wasn’t worth the hassle. Although we did phone the front and asked if they had another room available. Unfortunately due to the wedding they were booked. What upsets me the most is that no one called to check up on us during the inconvenience of our stay and they didn’t even accommodate us in any way to make our stay more welcoming.
Oh and when the engineer was taking the air conditioner out and putting a new one in. They took apart the room and put things that were on the floor on the bed! On our sheets that were new! How rude and gross! I don’t care how «clean» you make say your things are in the room please do not put the foldable table that was on the ground on the bed I will be sleeping on!

Stayed here for just a night and really liked NYLO. The hotel is set in an old factory that was revamped. NYLO is contemporary, which I tend to like in hotel choices. The floor is a polished concrete and the décor compact and modern. The rooms are not huge but it was just me and my dog (another $ 50 which I thought was a reasonable pet fee). The front desk was fine, although there is no bellhop service. You need to park across the street and the neighborhood is a little residential. I didn’t try the restaurant but will next time. All in all, a good value for the $ 129 room rate (plus tax plus pet fee).

Great location, nice design and modern/​contemporary décor, friendly service, and free amenities such as parking and internet are a plus. The room was clean but a bit small and I would’ve appreciated if the room had a tub and a refrigerator for traveling with small children. There wasn’t any door staff to help with luggage. More lighting, more lighting and more lighting could be used to brighten and liven up the lobby, hallways, and room. The elevator reminds of a hospital elevator; I think it must be the color. I enjoyed sitting on the veranda; very comfy seating. Overall, it was a nice stay and I got to unwind; I would stay again.

I’ve traveled around Europe and this hotel has a spruced up HOSTEL feel to it. There are little to no amenities. They have a «work out room» which consists of about 3 treadmills and some weights. They have no pool, but a dingy river view. The entire place has a strange smell to it. Maybe that’s because it’s a converted warehouse of sorts. Virtually saw no staff ever. And when we wanted to sleep in, we put the do not disturb sign up and the cleaning people still came in… Thanks for the rude awakening
The most horrendous thing about this place is the location and the fact that they basically lie about it. It is neither in Providence (which they told us over the phone) or Warwick as the title would suggest, but in some little crap town called Cranston that has very little to do. The staff admitted they call themselves NYLO Providence because they’re close to the airport… THAT DOESN’T MEAN YOU’RE IN PROVIDENCE you idiots. They ask admitted they quite often confuse their guests with that.
Bottom line– find a different place to stay that’s honest about their location. They’re almost a ½ hour away from Providence and pretty dingy… My feet always stuck to the hotel room floor.

First and foremost the hotel in itself is not bad at all. Pretty nice staff, rooms, have a modern décor, and its directly across the street from an indoor mall and restaurants.
However this hotel is directly next to an abandoned warehouse. There’s also a house directly across the street where a large family lives and during my entire stay there of 4 days, the police always seemed to be at these people’s house.

The bottom of my shower curtain was packed full of black mold. I left a note for the housekeeper to swap it out which she did. I also did a pre-​check-​in at this hotel in which they ask you questions about your prefences and that’ll send you a text when your room is ready for check-​in. I asked for extra towels, received a text from hotel that I had extra towels, but when I got to my room, there were no extra towels.

If you have a young child that falls a lot or is just learning to walk, like I do, be aware that the floors in the room are solid concrete. So if they fall and hit there head, like mine did, it can be extremely dangerous to them.
Their HUGE parking lot, WITH NO SECURITY CAMERAS AND A LARGE SIGN SAYING WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEFT FROM YOUR VEHICLES, is located directly across the street in the middle of a shady neighborhood and also directly across the street from the people who are always being visited by the police. I purchased an $ 100 stroller to use with my son while I was on vacay. The stroller was stolen from my car while parked in that lot.

When I was looking for hotels to get a wedding room block for my May wedding NYLO was always on my list. I thought it would be a neat, trendy hotel different from the usual. I was hesitant to look into NYLO further due to some of the reviews I had read. Also my mother in-​law was completely against this place. «Holly do you know they have cement floors and you can see the piping.» Umm yes that is the whole point of this hotel!!! Anyways turns out it was graduation weekend for one of the colleges the weekend of my wedding and the downtown Providence hotels were charging an insane amount for their rooms. Off to NYLO I went. At first they weren’t the fastest to get back to me about setting up the block etc. But once the ball got rolling Randi was great to work with.
Almost all of my guests really enjoyed staying at NYLO. I did have one family who wasn’t happy with them since they couldn’t tell her if the suite had a pull out couch or not so she was in a weird spot trying to figure out where her kids would sleep. That bit is weird, just have all your suites have pull out couches and that wouldn’t be an issue. However everyone else raved about the hotel and how neat and different it was. I was in the Lifestyle Suite and it was beautiful. It had a large living room, perfect for getting our hair and makeup done, the most comfortable king bed ever, and a neat bathroom. It even had a pretty large deck.
I can’t speak to the housekeeping because I was only there two nights and kept the do not disturb sign out. The front desk staff was extremely friendly when I checked in and checked out. And the «library» and bar area were the perfect place for some pre-​wedding pictures. Quite a few of my guests hit up the bar before and after the wedding and they all really enjoyed the space and bartenders. Since Randi and the staff knew I was there for my wedding and we did bring quite a bit of business to them it would have been nice if there was a bottle of champagne or something waiting for us in our suite. Nothing I would detract for but it would have been a really nice touch.
I would recommend this hotel to any bride and her guests if they are looking for something cool and different, and don’t have a lot of kids that need to stay. Also if her guests are on a bit of a budget this is a great alternative to the prices at the downtown Providence hotels.

this is my first stay here and I like this place.
my only real gripe is the price… two nights was $ 380.
our room was on the small side (had room 528, river view king bed) but super quiet… the music bass did cell up but stopped at a reasonable hour.
our sliding bathroom door needed service since it didn’t slide all the way closed but it was done without incident.
staff was eh, but not rude.

This is an absolutely perfect hotel a fairly close drive to downtown Providence and not too far from Newport. The décor and atmosphere are awesome and very boutique hotel. Dog friendly!
The rooms are not huge, but unique in layout and design. The beds are huge and very comfy and the bathroom more than adequate though a bit odd that you can kind of see into the shower from the bed. Chalk it down to quirkiness. The halls are a bit stark, but the overall atmosphere including the swings in the lobby are great.
The staff was great from the front desk to the staff at the restaurant and bar. Very professional and courteous. They even loved our dog and kept doing their best to make friends with him.
Parking is very convenient and ample in the lot and everything in Rhode Island seems to be only a 45 minute drive. Very easy access to Providence and Newport.
The best part was the deck and lounge chairs along the river that are attended to by great wait staff. The couches are super comfortable and Hershey loved nestling into them for an evening drink and nap. The beer selection wasn’t huge but had some good choices like a Mexican hefeweizen that we enjoyed each night. We looked forward to relaxing on the deck almost as much as we do at home during our stay.
Centrally located, dog friendly, and great accommodations make the NYLO a perfect place to stay when exploring Rhode Island.
