It is silly to rate a 7 – 11, but seeing as how I wrote a review for a bad 7 – 11 in Towson, it’s only fair I give props to this good 7 – 11 in Takoma. My first week in town I had a laundry emergency whereby I was doing laundry at a friends house but her dryer broke so I had to haul 3 loads back to my building to use their dryers. I had not planned on doing laundry that day so I had almost no quarters. I ran to the Takoma metro and bought a metro card just to get change(which they used to give in quarters) but discovered that now they give their change in dollar coins. Desperate, I ran to the 7 – 11 and pleaded my case for quarters even offering to buy something. The guy there gave me around $ 5 worth of quarters and didn’t even ask me to make a purchase. Needless to say, that warmed my heart and won my loyalty. Because of how nice he was, I generally feel good stopping here for the occasional coffee, hot cocoa and other snacks. Whenever I come here, the staff is usually friendly/smiling. My only criticism of this place(and the reason I don’t come here more often), is that it is absurdly crowded on weekday mornings. There are only 2 registers and the lines are long. I am usually rushing to get on the metro in the morning. If there were less of a line, I’d come here daily for some morning coffee(it’s a very small detour from my house), but the wait takes so long(usually more than 5 minutes on line) that now I just hold off on coffee until I get to work. I wish they could add another register or something to deal with the morning rush.

I know it’s kind of silly to review a 7-Eleven, but this the best one I have ever been shopped at. Best beef patties.

typical 7 – 11. They could do something about all the homeless folks who hang out front, but the place is clean and well run.
