Alan Morrison, DO, FACP

Dr. Morrison is very thorough and has a calm and pleasant personality. I recommend him very highly!

I’ve been seeing Dr Morrison for about four years. I’m an early-​thirties man who is generally in good health, so our doctor-​patient relationship has been fairly low-​intensity. But I’m always able to get an appointment when I need one, his bedside manner is terrific (the right combination of just-​another-​guy and medical expert), he takes my insurance, his staff is courteous and accommodating, and I never have to sit long in the waiting room. So I highly recommend him.

After ending up at the hospital with 104 degree fever, the doctors said I need to follow up with some one quickly. Of course getting a doctor quickly is never easy. So a few weeks later, I go to see Dr. Morrison for the first time (earliest appointment). When I get there, they ask me to sign a ridiculous document that opened me up to unlimited liability. I pointed out my concerns, and the receptionist went back to discuss. She returned and said that Dr. Morrison response was either had to sign or find another doctor.
Dr. Morrison, in my opinion, values money more then the health of his patients. I advise you find yourself a different doctor.

This is a follow up to the swollen eye.
So after two days I hadn’t heard from Dr. Morrison and went to Sibley’s ER. They said I was bitten by something and were surprised to hear that I hadn’t heard back from my doctor. They prescribed antiobiotics and gave me antibiotic eye drops.
Two days after my initial call and after a lengthy trip to the ER Dr. Morrison called from what sounded like a cellphone? I told him I went to the ER and as I was explaining what they prescribed we got disconnected. He never tried to call me back and I never heard from him again.
If I can help it I won’t go back to see him.

Had my inital visit with Dr Morrison today, he was very good in finding out about my health history and who I am. He made the offer of what I wanted to do, just an inital meeting, a partical phyical or a fullout physical.
I choose to do the inital meeting and partial phyiscal to see what he came up with. Some issues that had been bothering me for many years he quickly identified (other doctors I have been to never take the time to find out these issues.
So next step is to do some more research, an Xray and another appointment.
I would say he cares more about the patient than the insurance company that would be paying him.

Just moved to DC and had MAJOR allergy/​breathing problems. After a slight case of allergies/​sinus infection/​asthma that turned into full-​blow I CANNOT breathe!
I called Dr. Morrison’s office at 7 am. After being told they weren’t taking appointments for a month, I mentioned my emergency and that I was new to the area. To my surprise (after mentioning my insurance of course:)) They booked me early that morning for viewing.
My lungs were in ROUGH shape and I could barely breathe. Dr. Morrison took great care of me and had me take a couple of tests to monitor my breathing. The drugs worked well and the visit was quick despite having arrived with 4 people in front of me.
The nurses and reception were fantastic and very helpful. The office reminded me of clinics back in Minnesota, not somewhat scary as Manhattan clinics can be.
Located in a condo building, I would recommend Dr. Morrison to anyone in Washington D.C. as one of the best internal medicine doctors I have ever visited.

A family friend recommended Dr. Morrison to me when I recently moved back to Washington. His office suite is located right off the lobby of a residential building right on Connecticut Avenue, right near the Maryland line. Although his office is small and in need of décor updates, this is no indication of the care you will receive. Dr. Morrison is very personable, down to earth and a good listener who treats his patients with dignity (which is hard to find!). I was having a surgical procedure done somewhere else and I needed Dr. M to examine me and fill out a form saying that I was fit for surgery. He went above and beyond the tests and information my surgeon required. The doctors and nurses in the surgery center were all marveling at how thorough of an exam he had performed and how extensive the information was that he submitted. That really made me feel like he was looking out for me and my health. Everyone should have a doctor like that.
