Blue Army Handyman of VA, LLC

Called and asked if a job could be done for me on the weekend.
He said he could come by at 8AM on Sunday.
I asked if he could do noon.
He made a sarcastic comment and hung up.
Avoid.

As the other reviews mentioned the owner William has to be one of the rudest servicemen I’ve ever encountered. He obviously does not need work or customers.
We asked him to come for an estimate to build out a 40 ft counter for a granite top and within 30 seconds of him walking through the door he made it more than obvious he found us useless. He told me «just because you want it doesn’t mean you get it». He demanded plans (isn’t that his responsibility?) Apparently I’m wrong in assuming a carpenter draws out his own layout first, or that we could even have a conversation about what is needed. We had various other projects to be completed but never even got that far. He was here for maybe 3 minutes and stormed out. I guess a $ 10,000+ project is beneath him (that’s the estimates we got to complete everything from other companies).
I originally contacted «Blue Army Handyman Services» but apparently he’s changed the name of his company to «American Handyman». According to the BBB he gets an F as Blue Army hence why he changed the name.
I’m actually glad I don’t have to write a review about the quality of his work. From what I gather it would have been worse off for me. So in a way, «Thanks William for being a prick and saving me from your shoddy work.»

I asked for an esimate, he came by 10 days later. I told him I had an estimate we liked for painting so if he only wanted to estimate the carpentry portion of our job, that was OK. He asked what the painting estimate was. I told him I wasn’t comfortable telling him. He said ‘well if you tell me I can tell you if it’s a good price.” I said, well, why don’t you ballpark and I’ll tell you if it’s close. He said «well it’s easier if you tell me.» I said, «I just told you I wasn’t comfortable with telling you, so why are you pushing it?» I expected him to apologize and move on. Instead, he said ‘have a nice day’ and left. Totally unprofessional!

Had them do a remodel for us. And as of two years after remodel done, we’ve already spent around $ 7000 re-​doing things they worked on. Section of roof had to be redone and the roofer we had come in said that they used the worst possible materials. At best, roof would have lasted around 7 years — it barely made two. William — the owner — is a thief. He took off with our last deposit and never came back to finish the work.

The worst scoundrel in the business. A con artist who took our deposit and left us with a deck that must be torn down because of the multitude of code and safety violations. His plumbing was equally inferior. His tile work is already pulling away after only a month. Every job he did was incompetent or dangerous. He has about a dozen addresses, skips on legal judgements against him and has a variety of corporate forms to protect himself. Even the Arlington County police know him by reputation and it is not a good one. Stay away!
