Casa Italiana Language School

I have taken many cooking classes and a few wine tasting classes, when the latter were offered.
For the money, this is an excellent opportunity.
The classes are well taught… they are exceedingly fun… after the class, eating the food, drinking the wine, chatting with fellow students is really a joy.
Classes are small so everyone takes part n cooking.
Where can you get a cooking class and a full course (plenty to eat) dinner combines for $ 60!
The marketing program of Casa Italiana needs improvement… sometimes the full menu is not announced in advance. I have voluntarily offered my marketing skills to improve this situation.

I am in the Italian beginner class and the instructor keeps us all engaged with group exercises, audio and video props. La professoressa does an excellent job of keeping to the syllabus and workbook. Highly recommend this language school.

No passports required! If you ever wanted to take a trip to Italy without ever leaving the District, Casa Italiana should be your first stop. It is indeed molto bene!
Although I failed my beginners immediate class somewhere around reflexive verbs, (argh I didn’t know what those verbs were in English) I truly enjoyed my experience here. Whether it was the free parking (YES!),
the wine and pasta during breaks, or the friendly staff, Casa Italiana truly feels authentic (like a good lasagna!)
The native Italian teachers are wonderful and many are full of that saucy Italian personality that we love so much (my teacher had the dramatic gesticulations and she would put vowels on every word-​a). I once brought a book called «Hide This From Your Italian Teacher» to class (a rebel beginners Italian book full of bad expressions and curse words) and my teacher reviewed it, had a good laugh and confirmed that the Italian sayings was totally correct.
Casa Italiana has top notch teachers and classes and I am looking forward to going back… once I get over my fear of reflexive verbs

I am taking a Sunday morning Italian class, and have found the experience wonderful so far. My teacher is exceptional, and at $ 275 for 30 hours, the price is right. Added benefits: parking is easy (at 930 am on Sunday), and the cappuccino they offer for $ 2 is delicious!

I take Italian classes here Monday evenings. I think the price is good. The instructors are helpful and will always answer questions beyond what the lesson is.
A plus is they serve food. 5.00 for wine and pasta. It is nothing fancy, but it is kind of cool to hang out and eat cheap food before class and on break.

I take Italian classes here on Sunday mornings and although I don’t think I’m learning very much, it’s such a lovely, idyllic way to fritter away the hours. The classroom I’m in is sort of dark and shady, with children’s posters tacked up on the walls (frightening face with cottonwool hair helpfully labelled with features — guancia, bocca, occhi, denti) and the smell of incense wafting in from the church next door. It makes me feel all nice and sleepy, staring at the bright lines on the linoleum floor where the morning sun comes through the blinds and listening to the teacher read from the textbook. Downstairs, there’s a coffee bar where small old people sit, nattering away and sipping on espressos. A cappuccino will set you back $ 2 and is more or less a good, balanced blend — a little less strong than Murky but not horrible and watery like Dunkin Donuts. Lovely.
