Central Parking

Straw #1: since June, the parking lot in my building has raised their prices twice – and is going up again on October 1^st. Really, girl… really?
Straw #12: the Early Bird special has changed a zillion times over the summer alone (in b4 9:00 pay $ 12; no, b4 8:00 pay $ 12; no… pay $ 13; NO… pay $ 14!). WTF?
Last straw: When I get to work at 7:40 the garage is FULL! WHAT?!? STOP LYING!!! Ain’t no government workers coming in this early on a Monday – it’s their AWS or work-​from-​home day!!! Screw you!
I remembered the Unilocal by Ryan B. about parking down near the wharf for cheap. Fine. I rolled my frustrated ass right down there, paid my $ 7 (actually), parked and walked the block or two back to my building. I think I found a way to stay ahead of the curve of the economy. Winning!!!
Okay, okay… back to work. I hate my life.

This place is located on the water front right underneath Kastles Stadium. It’s $ 8 a day or you can get a monthly pass for $ 160. That’s a bargain for this area. If you actually park at L’enfant plaza, the cost is around $ 220 a month.
Sure, you have to put up with funny smells from people relieving themselves after nights of drunkeness from Zanzibar. And sometimes you get the feeling that the boogey man is hiding in the dark crevices. But at least it’s covered parking and you can’t beat the price.
I don’t know why, but I always think about that movie «The Silence of the Lambs». The parking lot scene where Buffalo Bill nabs the senators daughter. «what are you? a size 7? 8?»
