Not recommended! They use leftover food the next morning! I would never order food from there again.

Convenient hotel delivery available to the Holiday Inn. Hard to understand the lady on the phone taking the order, talks fast and hangs up fast… rushes you off the phone. But anyway, I ordered the egg foo young with shrimp, egg roll, chicken fried rice and the fried chicken wings. Everything tasted fine, nothing to really scream about but it did satisfied my hunger for the night. I was not crazy about the egg foo young with shrimp, so I won’t be reordering it again. When the deliveryman arrives you will need to meet him in the lobby. He was very nice and polite, a surprise from what I was expecting after placing my order. Lastly, the food arrived about an hour after I ordered it.

Ordered the soup noodle with tendons and like the other reviewers said, the soup was ok. The noodles were the real disappointment. I was hoping for some tender noodles given that they are freshly made, but instead it tasted like it was made from packaged noodles. I also ordered some steamed pork dumplings and potstickers which were both equally disappointing. The skin for both the dumplings and the potstickers were extra thick which left my jaw tired from chewing.

I ordered online and paid by credit card. When the food arrived the driver said no payment was made, so I paid cash. I realized a few hours later that the cc payment went through as well, but when I called the lady just kept telling me «I don’t know, call back later.» Not hopeful. Oh and the food really wasn’t good either.

I went here for ‘Eid lunch with my husband. I was nearly lost my jilbab(headscarf) when I saw this place. It honestly didn’t live up to my expectations. The noodle soup was bland, the broth just wasn’t seasoned enough. It only became better after spoonfuls of chili sauce. We tried to give it another chance, I ordered the mapodoufu. It was okay, not bad, not raving. The only thing impressive about this place is watching the chefs make noodles and what not. The food doesn’t make great leftovers either. A day later, the noodle soup smelled off and I immediately threw it out. How I didn’t get food poisoning is beyond me.

I came in and ordered their dumplings, pan-fried, that came with 8 pieces. I chose ½ of them veggie, and ½ of them with pork and chives. The dumplings themselves are small and bite-sized, and I really like how they give you four sets of condiments — soy sauce, pickled garlic slices, chili oil, and chives relish. I looooved the pickled garlic as they were nice and refreshing. Dipping the dumplings into the soy sauce and the chili oil was solid — the dumplings themselves had a thicker skin, and I think I liked the vegetarian one better than the pork. The filling themselves was a little bit underseasoned, but you could definitely customize to your taste in terms of the sauces. I saw older ladies coming in to get some of the spare ribs that were hanging by the window, and you can see an employee cutting up dumplings as well — I thought that was cute! +pan-fried dumplings +pickled garlic

This is my go-to place for quick chinese delivery in the Bloomingdale/Truxton Circle area. They have this steak & cheese eggroll that is to die for. Just order it. The usual dishes are pretty hard to mess up, although the hot & sour soup I just had contained too many red pepper flakes and didn’t taste like the norm. Crab rangoon is delicious. The beef lo mein is in a fully packed container and is filled with a good portion of meat. Regular eggrolls leave something to be desired though — large but I really don’t like the filling. Otherwise, I would highly recommend.

Bad food. Over sauced, bad flavor. But even worse customer service. 2 hours late, cold and no apology. Even worse, when we called to discuss the problem, they hung up.

Our go to delivery place! They have a wide delivery area, and never complain about coming out our way or give us any hassle, but do charge $ 1 to pay with a card. Their hot and sour soup is very good. Always arrives piping hot and fresh. Steamed dumplings are good too — they’re HUGE and you get 6 of them for $ 5.25. They take up the entire pint(you know… the white ones that fold at the top) The singapore rice noodles are very good, but don’t have as much curry as I generally like. My boyfriend likes the combination General Tso’s chicken with fried rice. Frankly, I think their fried rice looks like the kind you get in a mall food court. Like it was steamed in a bag or something. It has peas and diced carrots that are a little too symmetrical to have been done by hand. Definitely don’t get the beef rice noodles… they were bland and awful. The one time i got them to try something new and the noodles were bright white with random pieces of beef. Nothing else. I ended up dowsing it in soy sauce to make it edible. Sometimes my boyfriend gets the lemon crispy beef, which is good when it comes, but when you reheat it the next day the beef is super tough and dried out. For us, China Express serves as the reliable, chinese delivery joint with good staples like dumplings and H&S soup, just don’t get too creative or you’ll likely leave disappointed.

Given that China Express is just a few blocks from my place I had hoped it would be better. Sadly, it was dismal. I don’t shy away from«low-rent» Chinese take out restaurants, but this worst I’ve visited. My wonton soup was nearly tasteless. For my main entrée I ordered pan-fried noodles. When I got home and opened the container, the noodles were literally fused into a solid cube and inedible.

I know they say the new Chinatown is in Rockville, MD nowadays but if there are any remnants of Chinatown in Chinatown-proper, it’s got to be this place hidden away just around the corner from the Chinatown-Gallery Place Metro stop. It’s not the poshest place around but it’s got handmade noodles and dumplings. And one of my favorite dishes of all time, clams with black bean sauce… they call it Thai style clams or something. I’ll admit it’s not great every time but nothing ventured nothing gained right?
