Cork & Fork

I’ve always had positive experiences here. While I typically have a comparatively small wine budget, the staff and especially the owner here have always stuck to my budget and made great suggestions. They are also friendly — not something I can say for the similarly named place down the street. I think the tastings are sometimes run by outside distributors and can vary.

Been here a number of times. Always has interesting selections worthy of a purchase, a curated store, and friendly helpful staff. Love it. A treasure.

Nice selection, but snarly, uppity management and sales staff. Ditch the superior, rolling eyes attitude if you want to create a client base and returning neighborhood customers, gentlemen.

Well curated selection of wine. The folks that work here have tried everything in the store. I’ve never had a bottle from here that I didn’t like. The events and tastings are also fabulous and a great way to learn more about wine.

Great little shop with hand-​selected wines from around the world. One employee is from Argentina, and visits wineries in that area regularly to bring back his favorites!

I was delighted when Cork and Fork opened. The staff and owner (Dominique is from a champagne-​growing family so he knows his business) are super nice and knowledgeable. I tend to like the wine here. I mostly buy old world, but there’s a mix. Their selection is pretty diverse for a small store. It feels like a neighbourhood wine shop — they remember you, they take time when making recommendations, and they are friendly. I’ve even met new neighbours at their tastings. Drop in!

I saw a sign outside the store indicating that there was a wine tasting going on. I actually needed to re-​stock up on wine so thought it would be a good idea to try the wine. When I walked in there was a table in the back, with some bottles of open wine and some glasses, but there was no one there to serve it. I looked around the place and there just appeared to be one employee very busy at the register helping customers. So, similar to a number of other recent reviewers, I waited for a few minutes but no one acknowledged or approached me. After waiting some more without any acknowledgement (and this is not a big place), I then figured it must have been self-​serve. There was just no evidence to suggest that there was anyone serving the wine. I thought it was kind of odd, but figured they just got really busy or this is the way they did it. So I just took one of the empty glasses and was about to pour the opened wine, when all of a sudden I hear «Don’t do that!» in sort of a bitchy tone. An employee popped out of nowhere (with no name tag or evidence that he worked there) and said it was against the law to do that. He then asked me in a condescending tone whether I wanted to try something. I was really turned off by his attitude and said, «Nope, I am all set» and I just walked out. He said «good.» So, not only did they lose potential sales that day, but I will never set foot in there again (and will encourage my friends to avoid the place). I mean, I get that I perhaps should not haven’t assumed it was self-​serve (even though there was no one there to help), but he simply could have said. «No, please let me help you» or something more respectful. Based upon the reviews, it appears that rude and poor service are commonplace here. There are much friendlier places to purchase wine in this area and I would recommend going to some other place.

Good wine selection but when a friend and I went on for a wine tasting we were ignored for over 10 minutes (literally standing behind the 4 people currently tasting) before we gave up and left.

This place has wide variety of wines and also wine tasting every weekend.
Wine tasting comes with a real wine glass too. If you are interested in trying something new or different, I highly recommend to stop by. Staff here are quite knowledgeable and friendly.

Wine tastings on Saturday, woohoo! I walked in here by chance a couple of months ago and walked out with pretty much every wine they had available to taste. Cork & Fork carries different labels than you’d find at your average grocery store or big-​box wine store. Prices are reasonable, as well.

Best wine shop in DC. I’ve been going to Cork & Fork for a couple of years and have never bought a bad grape. Dominique and his staff are the least pretentious per ounce of knowledge in a connaisseur that a customer could ever want. They don’t push the more expensive wines and have a superb, unique mid-​range collection.
True story: I parked my car (illegally) outside the store (no, it wasn’t by a fire hydrant, it was a real parking spot that was marked no parking because of weekday construction), so I could run in and grab a case of wine. The whole excursion took less than 10 minutes and I peeked outside twice to see if a meter agent was stalking. The last time I peeked, the meter police had just put a ticket on my car. Without being bummed out because I knew it was my fault, I shrugged and casually told the guy who parked behind me (also running in for wine) that it looked like we got tickets. One of the staff members overheard me, asked me how much the ticket was and handed me $ 30 as I checked out. The store had about 3 minutes of register issues that delayed my checkout, and he apologized for the delay.
I had already thought that Cork & Fork was the best wine store I’d ever been to, but that gesture was above and beyond what a neighborhood store can and should do for its customers. Thanks for coming to Logan Circle, Cork & Fork!

This place is great! They always can recommend a great wine to your taste and price point. They also host tastings almost every weekend, so if you’re looking for something new, be sure to stop by here on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
That’s the other thing – they are open on Sundays! Whole Foods isn’t the only place to get wine here on Sunday anymore!

I really cannot believe that anyone would give Cork and Fork anything less than 4 or 5 stars. Their convenient location on 14^th Street NW stocks a great selection of beer and wine — both domestic and imported. Their staff is incredibly helpful and Dominique, himself, is a great, down-​to-​earth guy despite having been a winemaker in France in the past. On Fridays and Saturdays, they offer tastings of many of their wonderful wines. I’ve found their tasting selections to be well thought out and the atmosphere inviting. And their prices are pretty good too. If you haven’t yet been to Cork & Fork, go on a Friday evening so you can experience some great wines and great people.

The girlfriend and I were strolling down 14^th St from U St. Cork & Fork was one of the stops along the way. C&F is a decent-​sized wine shop, but what it packs inside is definitely the good stuff. They do wine tastings on Saturdays at 3PM. This week, they were pouring various Rosés. Truth be told, Rosés are not my favorite wine. That said, since C&F carries quality wines from quality producers, they were actually very good.
The staff is exceedingly friendly and knowledgeable about their product. They carry a solid selection of wines both foreign and domestic to include Virginia. Prices are competitive with other wine retailers. While they may have some ultra-​pricey wines hidden somewhere in the backroom, I thought they’re selection was largely priced to be accessible to most wine drinkers without sacrificing quality. Cork & Fork is definitely one of my favorite wine shops in the DMV.

Cork & Fork is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Nice selection of wine and beer. Some really cool ones from micro-​breweries. Very pleasant and polite staff. Moderate prices for DC. Went in to just explore and wound up leaving with 4 items. Very pleased!
One question, though… just when does the fork come into play?

Nice store with a good selection of wine — not sure how the pricing compared to others but it was probably a little higher. The store was crowded with people and there was a wine tasting going on. We picked up the Silverado Cabernet Sauvignon for $ 45, the Kanonkop Pinotage for $ 35 (maybe?) and the Boschendal Sauvignon Blanc — they were over $ 100 and we received a raffle ticket for a draw in September.

We wandered in for the first time during a rose tasting with the owner. I love a crisp and full flavored rose in the summer, so it was a nice treat. We picked up two rose’s and a nice priced bottle of Cava — everything was priced well, and the selection is strong and varied.
The owner is pleasant, funny, honest, and appreciates guests opinions about wine, food, and life. I feel so comfortable buying booze here, and asking for advice, and I trust the staffs recommendations. (Aka you can ask a question and not feel stupid regarding booze!)

Really impressed with the new kid on the block! I wasn’t familiar with Cork & Fork and really, its all Cork and no Fork. C&F is a boutique wine and beer merchant specializing in smaller vineyards and breweries.
My husband and I just returned from a trip to Sonoma and visited several smaller, somewhat obscure wineries. We were completely impressed to see many of these represented on the shelves at very reasonable price points.
Its a notch up from the wine selection at the nearly Whole Foods, and an entirely different realm from the vino at Cork Market down the road — C&F has considerable domestic representation (lots of California vintners!) and a nice variety of beer as well.
The staff is friendly and helpful and the selection is diverse and interesting — its a fantastic addition to the neighborhood.
