Danny’s Pet Care specializes in energetic dog walkers with a great attitude! They are very comfortable with all kinds of dogs from very small to very large, from calm and relaxed, to hyper and all over the place! We have experienced dog walkers, cat sitters and dog boarders.

We care for cats and dogs while you work or travel. We believe in quality care for your furry friend! Danny’s Pet Care provides dog walking and cat sitting services for NE DC (Brookland, Woodridge, Edgewood, Ft. Totten, Eckington, and Bloomingdale) residents. We also provide boarding service in a cageless, home environment in the Brookland/​Catholic University area.

Originally from Lima– Peru, Danny has been in the U.S. Washington DC since 2000 and in the pet care business since 2007. Danny had worked for a long time in the restaurant business but was fortunate enough to pursue his passion, animal care, since he has been raised with dogs most of his life. Danny is a dog and cat owner and has been involved with fostering homeless animals through a local rescue group.

I’m very grateful for such a great dog walking service in Brookland. They have been able to accommodate evenings and weekends, and the walkers are incredibly dedicated to my dog– they take any opportunity they can to make my dog happy and better adjusted. I get daily detailed updates about every walk, and Danny and his staff are very easy to reach for scheduling.

We have used Danny to watch our cat for 3 years, and I couldn’t be happier. My wife and I both travel frequently for work, and he’s always available last minute. Not only does he visit the cat, feed him and clean his litter, but he sends my wife a daily picture update, which she really loves. Can’t recommend him enough.

Danny’s is a life saver! We travel frequently for work, and often need someone to watch our cat at the last minute. Danny has always come through for us, with Alicia! I appreciate that they both came to our house to introduce themselves, go over my written instructions, and meet my fur baby. I was super nervous. I had never left my cat with anyone but friends and family and we were going to be away for two weeks. Alicia sent me updates over text, and a few pictures over e-​mail. When our water fountain stopped working, she let me know and put out extra water bowls. She made sure our auto feeder was working, scooped out the litter box, gave our cat a few treats and played with him, when/​if he was in the mood. We’ve used Alicia twice and she always puts my mind at ease.

We’ve been using Danny’s Pet Care for dog walking for a while, and love it. Our walker, Graham, was a really nice guy who was understanding, flexible, and great with our dog. I recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and friendly service for dog walking! We are unfortunately moving away, or else we would keep using Danny’s Pet Care forever!

I highly recommend Danny’s Pet Care (and personally have already) to anyone looking for services. Danny met with me and my dog, Botwin, individually and with the dog walker he was assigning to me to go over Botwin’s preferences, need for sweaters, walk schedule, etc. He even drops off a little book so the dog walker can write how his walk was. I especially looked forward to coming home and reading those notes! He’ll also e-​mail pictures of the walk sometimes which brought a smile to my day at work. His cancellation policy is very flexible and he is understanding of last minute changes. Our dog walker, Sierra, was so wonderful and I felt very comfortable trusting her with our dog. Definitely use Danny!

I’ve been gone on work assignment for over a month — Danny’s Pet care has worked with me to get Pinky walked and cared for seamlessly when my friend was unable to care for my dog due to an emergency. So nice to have so reliable and professional a service available!

Danny is awesome. We worked with him for 18 months until we moved out of the area. Our dog was walked at least twice a week, was sometimes boarded at Danny’s house for weekends or vacations away, and we even added dog daycare for a bit before we left.
Our dog LOVES Danny and took to him right away. We had 3 different dog walkers during our relationship and Danny always made sure we met the people and that we and our dog were comfortable. All three had different styles and strengths they brought to the table. Danny is very good about communicating via text and would often email pics of our dog playing or relaxing while being boarded or at daycare. The pics were never anything I expected but were always a nice surprise, especially for longer trips away.
I highly recommend Danny’s Petcare. A service gem in Brookland! Make sure you get in touch well in advance for boarding.

We have used Danny for boarding and dog walks for our dog for the 1.5 years and have been extremely happy with his services. I am so grateful to have someone local who I trust with our dog when we’re out of town. Danny has gone out of his way on several occasions, dropping off or picking up for boarding, which has been a huge help. He usually has a few dogs at a time at his home and always send me pictures and updates when we’re away which I appreciate. He has a nice fenced in backyard and lots of parks nearby. My dog cries in excitement anytime we’re near his house since he loves staying at Danny’s so much. I would highly recommend using Danny’s Pet Care for overnights and dog walks!

We boarded our slightly finicky 5ish year old rescue with Danny while we went on a week’s vacation. We had never left her alone this long before, and were a little worried about how she would fare. On a previous long weekend we had our dog sitter stay overnight with her, but wanted her to have more attention than just visits. We could not be more pleased with the care she received from Danny. He sent (on average) more than 1 email/​photo a day about how she was doing at his house. She was incredibly happy in each picture, and made friends with the other dogs and cats at Danny’s. In fact, I think she had more fun at his house than she ever has with us. She was excited to see us when we returned, but I’m pretty sure she misses all her new friends and the attention she got all day every day. We will definitely be using Danny’s services for any future trips we take, and will probably start bringing her over for doggie day care during the week. I recommend Danny without reservation!

Danny’s Pet Care has provided excellent care to our kitten. Danny is timely, and easily accessible by email and phone. He takes last minute appointments. He also leaves you a note with details, or sends you pictures by phone with daily updates on your pet. He is reliable. I would recommend this business!

Short notice trip abroad meant our little guy was without a place to say. Danny was flexible, easy to deal with, and was able to do everything online. During our trip he sent occasional updates and pictures to let us know all was well. On our return we hit some delays and much to our delight he drove to our house to drop off Oscar. Great service and we were so happy he was a Brookland local

Danny’s Pet Care is great. Nothing too complex here — just great pet service by cool people who really put care into the process. Danielle always watches my cat, and she does a great job. She sends me pictures every visit via text (or email if I’m traveling internationally) and one of the best things about Danny’s that the others don’t do around here — they will visit my cat every other day — or the days I choose (sometimes once if I’m gone for three days, as we know cats can handle a few days alone) — without any issues.

I contacted Danny based on a neighbor’s reference. We were expecting a baby, and knew that we may need someone close by who we could call upon in a pinch to look after our dog. Danny has been amazing! He came by to pick up our dog when we had to take off for the hospital in the middle of the night, then walked our dog for many days after when our baby was in the NICU and it was literally a day-​to-​day decision on whether we would be home. He has been flexible, responsive, and our dog loves him and his pets. I would absolutely recommend Danny for anyone looking for superb pet care; you’d be hard-​pressed to find anyone who cares about his clients and their pets as much as this guy.

My partner and I were SOOO lucky to find Danny’s company! We rescued a pup, and on short notice, Danny was able to fix us up with one of his wonderful dog walkers who walk, play with and dote upon our dogs when I have to travel out of town, and my partner is working.
The dog walker is thoughtful, communicative, and so kind to our dogs.
Danny is helpful, and answers my emails right away. He has been flexible and allows us to have a random walking schedule.
I cannot recommend Danny’s pet care highly enough!

We have been working with Danny for over a year and we are completely dependent on his friendly, flexible and reliable services and team members. Danny has a key to our house and the code to our alarm and we have never worried about his reliability. All we do have to do is send him a quick email on the mornings we need a walk and we know our pup is in good hands. We also love that they leave a note letting us know how the walk was!
Danny went above and beyond recently when we were out of town and the friend staying at our house came home on a Saturday to discover that our pup had escaped and gone missing. We called Danny frantically and he dropped what he was doing, jumped in his car and helped scour the neighborhood for her. He did this out of the goodness of his heart, because he is a dog guy, of course!

Danny is the best!!! Danny has been walking my dog since we brought him home as a 14 week-​old puppy in mid-​2009. He also boards him at his home whenever we are out of town and takes him for day care regularly. Danny is eminently reliable and trustworthy — I’ve never had a moment’s hesitation leaving my fur baby in his care or having him in my home when I’m not there. Our dog excitedly waits for Danny to arrive and comes home happy and TIRED! Danny truly cares about the pets that he works with and it shows. Over the years, we’ve referred our friends to him, and they are now also his clients.

What a relief to know that Danny and his reliable colleagues are in Brookland! He seems to have a busy schedule, but based on the daily notes he leaves, Danny spends a good amount of time making sure our dogs have time outside, whether it be on a walk or with his dogs in his yard.
Friendly and responsive to scheduling requests, Danny is one person who I hope never **ever!** moves from the neighborhood!

In addition to pet-​sitting, Danny also boards dogs at his house in Brookland. When our previous dog-​boarder was unavailable, we took our dog to Danny for a holiday weekend and had an excellent experience.
The dogs spend a lot of time playing together in the fenced-​in yard (we view this as a GOOD thing for our energetic and social darling), and our dog returned home happy. Prices are reasonable. Danny is patient about scheduling (and letting us reschedule) pick-​ups and drop-​offs.
We’ll be going back.

Danny has been pet-​sitting for me for over two years; i have one cat that he checks on when I’m out of town. He has never been unavailable when I’ve gone out of town. His prices are great, very reasonable. He’s come to two apartments i’ve lived in — both in the U Street area. The first, he had to pick up my keys every time i left town, which he was very flexible and patient about. Now he just keeps my keys, which makes scheduling so much easier. I trust him completely. He always follows my care instructions, sometimes texts me pictures of my meow, AND empties my recycling bin. I’ve referred a couple friends to him. I highly recommend him. Seriously, email me if you have specific questions — happy to answer. He’s awesome.

Danny’s Pet Care is a reliable and friendly company that takes care of animals. Danny (the namesake of the company) comes and takes my dog Winston. Danny walks Winston 3 times a week, and it varies depending on my work schedule, which is really nice to have someone who can be flexible.
Not only does WInston go on long walks, but he gets to go to the dog park and is sometimes walked with good dog friends.
It is very comforting to come home from work knowing that Winston has had a wonderful and adventurous day.
I highly recommend Danny’s Pet Care! He makes dogs smile! :)
