Embassy Suites at Chevy Chase Pavilion

We were excited for our first stay at a Hilton/​Embassy Suite but were a little underwhelmed at our visit. Let me start with the positives: the hotel is pretty clean and the rooms are spacious with nice views. The complimentary breakfast is a nice touch and the location near the Metro is excellent. The negatives: The pool was cold and very cloudy, plus they allow a children’s swim class to run and use ½ the small pool while guests use it (daily). This was one of the main things my kids were looking forward to and they were very disappointed. The jacuzzi was closed with no sign of near repair. The floor around the pool area was soaked and never cleaned or mopped at all, so the tile was very slippery and pretty gross. The beds are fair, but the linens and towels are rather rough. Staff was OK, not very happy to be there it seemed except for the morning buffet floor manager. He was very helpful and positive employee. Overall, this doesn’t come close to a stay at Marriott.

This is one of the best hotels in the area. The only reason why I’m so mad is because I didn’t check this place out earlier. The prices are great. The rooms are awesome. They even have snacks in the room so you don’t have to run to he lobby when you get a midnight sweet tooth. I recommend this place over any other hotel near here.

This is a really great hotel.
Our family of 5 stayed here for about 2 weeks while relocating from overseas to the Bethesda/​Chevy Chase area. The location is very convenient with several restaurants in the same building and lots of great shopping within literally 2 blocks and a movie theatre just across the street. Oh! And bus station and Metro just outside the door.
Embassy Suites is always a good choice for familes and we’ve stayed in quite a few over the years. Here, the staff is very friendly– comes up for a chat to make sure you’re comfortable. They go out of their way to get to know you and what you like-​make you feel like home and kid around (tell Terrence I said so!). A shout-​out to the bell boys who helped us carry all the house stuff we bought and also stored it for us. Plus also for the gym, the saltwater pool and jacuzzi on the top floor. Personally, I enjoyed relaxing in a hot bath while getting my laundry done.
Great hotel, great location, amenities and friendly staff and I look forward to recommending it to all our out of town guests.

This hotel has an open air atrium where you look down to the floors below and to the bar. It can be very loud in these types of hotels but thankfully this one is all suites and has a bedroom door that helps drown out the sounds. If you get the corner room that has a private lock out with another room, you may end up with a noisy neighbor like we did that let their kid knock on their door loudly. Don’t get this room unless your family is taking up both suites. The free breakfast was nice with an omelet bar. The shower had some of the hottest water I’ve ever felt which made for a great soak in the tub after walking DC all day. Room service was fairly cheap and tasty. There is a Cheesecake Factory in the lobby also. Major shopping right across the street also. Free wi-​fi for Hilton rewards members.

The Embassy Suites Chevy Chase Pavilion was a beautiful hotel! What I loved most was the fact that there was so much available in the same building as the hotel. There was a Cheesecake Factory, Old Navy, and Starbucks (just to name a few). The Metro is conveniently located underneath the hotel. This made travel easy while we were in D.C. My family and I took advantage of all of the amenities (Pool, Jacuzzi, Gym, and my favorite… the cook to order morning breakfast). The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spacious. I felt that the staff was very friendly during our stay. The only reason I did not give this Hotel five stars is because we had to call the front desk three days to request additional towels and washcloths. Housekeeping would leave only one washcloth each day. I’m not sure what that was all about. Even with that being said… I would definitely recommend the Embassy Suites Chevy Chase Pavilion.

This hotel was awesome. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with everything. My wife asked the front desk where she could get a birthday cake for our daughter and the next day the front desk staff sent our daughter up a birthday card and an assortment of cookies. I have zero complaints and am definitely staying here again the shopping and restaurants were great, the metro station is basically in the hotel and is the easiest way to get around. I highly recommend to stay here I can’t say enough good things about this place.

I attended a business meeting here with my organization. This place is wonderful. Its located in a pavilion, surrounded by shops and restaurants and it’s accessible to the Metro. The staff is pleasant and professional. I did not get the opportunity to stay in or see the rooms, but I assume that the are nice. However, they do offer a great continental breakfast.

Excellent location right in the same building as the metro. The rooms are very clean, the neighborhood is very upscale (almost too much since all the shops in walking distance are so expensive) and they are very loose with alcohol. Overall, I had a very positive experience staying there. The pool was a bit crowded and it’s more of a business target audience than a romantic or vacation environment but I was very satisfied overall with my stay there. The staff was also very accommodating.

I stayed here for a week while on business travel for work. This place was excellent and is actually located inside of a pavilion. It’s easily accessible by Metro subway and public transportation, which was my top priority during hotel searches in the area. There’s many restaurants nearby and a convenient Walgreen’s/CVS store located downstairs for any quick shopping needs that I had forgotten to pack for traveling.
Although I wished the WiFi was better. I couldn’t get very good signal :(
Besides that, the hotel services were great and staff answered all questions during my stay. I liked the complimentary breakfast option and bar social events they had set up for guests too. I’d definitely recommend and hope to come back again on future trips! Thanks to the hotel staff for making my stay a great experience.

I have been staying here for years and years. Generally I would give this property a 3.5−4* review.
But **RIGHT NOW** (summer 2014) the long-​ongoing renovations are in high gear. And they are MASSIVELY interrupting the service level of the hotel. It’s one of those situations where just getting up and down the elevator is a painful wait. Getting around the second floor (check in) and third floor (breakfast) is way off what it normally is, logistically.
The noise is pretty significant during the day. The ability to check in is all messed up: the front entry (Military Rd) is directly impacted by the construction, as is a significant part of the parking (for those driving a vehicle here).
Sounds like this mess is going to continue for a few more months. Word to the wise: plan extra time and be prepared for some inconveniences in what is otherwise usually a very convenient, and fairly well-​run, hotel.
They aren’t doing much to make up for the inconveniences, either … which strikes me as odd. They could easily be giving out free WiFi, or bottled water, or something like that. But no.

I think we’ll come back to this one if we visit DC again. Embassy Suites is our go-​to with the little kids. Our room was great and you can’t beat the breakfast, etc. They are currently under construction, but they were clear about that on the website, so we knew what we were getting into. The attached parking garage was pretty handy. The Metro is right across the street, so it’s easy to get into DC.

(Stick through to the end– I wasn’t wholly dissatisfied). There was construction at the hotel and we were not notified. Though the construction started in January and I spoke to two separate representatives before my stay, both failed to mention the loud jack hammer that would start outside my door (sometimes at 7:30am) in the mornings. We were offered one complimentary breakfast and a happy hour in the evening. One breakfast? We were there for a wedding and they turned off the water to half of the building that weekend. The bride’s father was without water the morning of the wedding and they had to escort him into another room to allow him to shower; I was appalled. We also were paying almost double the current rate with the wedding rate with no discount for construction. When we talked to the front desk they seemed helpless and tired of hearing about the construction. I can’t say I blame them, but I was expecting a more courteous apology rather than, «this will be an inconvenience.»
Despite that, once construction is finished this hotel is going to look GREAT. Though the renovation designs have only brought the hotel to look like the galactic 80s, it does have a really interesting circular and open layout. The many stores (J. Crew, H&M, World Market) and restaurants (Range, Cheesecake Factory, Starbucks) make this an easy place to stay if its raining or you realized you didn’t pack the right outfit for your evening event. This would be significantly improved with free WiFi. GIve this place a shot in a year — I wouldn’t count it off of my list in the future. If you’re a Hilton member, you get points for staying here.

Been here a few times for meetings. I personally don’t like (but also don’t hate) the hotel. Seems like a very good place for families. Big suites, free breakfast (it’s OK), and pool on the top floor (although indoors so that’s not good). Hotel is connected to a big mall and very near other shopping malls and high-​end stores. Hotel sits atop a Metro stop so that’s very good. Hotel is connected to Cheesecake Factory Restaurant so that’s good or bad depnding on you.
Tip: Unless you are Hilton Honor’s the wifi isn’t free. Paid for the normal wifi (not the premium wifi). Not worth it — connection so slow you can barely check emails. There is a Starbucks on the first floor of the mall — I wondered if they had free wifi but didn’t check.

Not one of the well managed Embassy Suites. Check in was just ok and thought being on the 8^th floor would be nice. The hotel lobby looks nice in the inside and fairly clean. Getting into our room was a bit disappointing. The room was well used and could use some sprucing up.
Beds were ok and linens nice. Turns out we were just under the fitness room which is on the top floor. All night there was a vibration and hum that made it a difficult sleep. I talked to the front desk and they seemed surprised but didn’t exactly explain why this might be except for maybe someone was working out upstairs. Oh well…
I needed to do some laundry and their machines only take quarters. I went to the front desk to get quarters and they said they don’t sell quarters and I should go to one of the local businesses and ask them for quarters. What? Really? Oh well again for customer service.
Parking is $ 26 per night and must be stamped at the front desk each time you exit. Not great system but if there is a line at the front desk, good luck getting your ticket stamped in a reasonable time.
Room service? The food is not recommended.
This hotel is a good one-​nighter but that’s about it.

Great location and very professional & attentive staff. Overall I have been very happy with my stays at this hotel. Granted it is time for a refurb. but that is going to happen over the summer. Having a hotel which is part of a mall is a wonderful plus. If you forget something CVS is steps away. If you are hungry and don’t feel like going far, there are wonderful options nearby. The free breakfast and the evening drinks thing are both nicely done.

This is one of the best Embassy Suite I have ever stayed in. I like it that there is a mall below the Embassy Suite. The breakfast food is great here.

Usually I love Embassy Suite Hotels. This one is just ok. The room is clean but small. Usually there is a dining area, but this one lacks that or adequate comfortable seating. There are not enough towel racks in the bathroom. Not even a small one to hold a hand or face towel. Ive never seen that in a hotel before. Do not expect the Wifi to function. I’ve docked the hotel a star for completely useless Wifi. It lasts 5 minutes max then kicks you off. The breakfast area is also too small, as we had a hard time finding seating during peak breakfast times. Lastly, after spending $ 6.00 to wash and «dry» two loads of laundry, my clothes came out wet — not damp, wet.
On the plus side, the location is good, with the Metro accessible without having to go outside. I like the CVS in the mall for all the little thing you may have forgotten (or when your kid gets sick and you need medicine and saltine crackers). The room was modern, and the shower was lovely.

Really 4.5 but I feel like in this instance I can justify rounding up to 5.
I just had a staycation here after a NYC trip got cancelled due to their crappy weather. The rooms are spacious and very clean. If you are facing Wisconsin Ave they are not completely soundproof but having lived in cities my whole life I can tell you the noise level is very low. There is breakfast in the morning and it is elaborate. Excellent omelets among other things. There is also a complimentary happy hour at night with fabulous Sangria.
There is no wifi in the rooms. Previous reviews seem to indicate you used to be able to at least pay for wifi. Now it does not exist. There is a business center but there are only 2 computers in it.
The staff is friendly and helpful. I found the facilities to be extremely nice for the price and very nicely located. Highly recommend.

I stayed here for 10 nights due to my husband working in the area.
What I liked:

–Walking distance to AMC theater. Whole Foods, Starbucks and plenty of shops
–Large Gym located on the top floor along with laundry facilities ($ 1.50 to wash)
–Full Breakfast (made to order omelet, cereal, eggs, bacon, pancakes, juice, coffee)
Served till 9:30AM Mon-​Fri and 10:30AM weekend/​holiday
–Large rooms with mini-​fridge, microwave, kitchen sink, and all the rest of the amenities
–Friendly staff
