Fort Totten Square

New resident and love everything thus far. My leasing agent was Terrance Taylor and he was amazing. Leasing was easy and they really worked with me. The complex is beautiful very modern and they really work hard to maintain the grounds. They have cleaning in common areas every day. They always have attentive and friendly concierge and security at night which is comforting. They also throw pretty nice events for residents. This is my first apartment in D. C after living in Moco and I’m extremely happy!

Paper thin walls/​ceilings/​floors, absentee management, and no enforcement of community standards.
Stayed here a few weeks with a friend only to be woken up in the middle of the night (on multiple occasions) to the next door neighbors shouting and the downstairs neighbors smoking weed and partying on their balcony.
On my way out of town for the Holidays, I walked by the 24-​hour concierge desk only to find it closed. With no staff or security in sight I was greeted instead by an obviously intoxicated woman who decided to show me her boobs. Well, just the left one, but you get the idea.
The property is brand new, relatively affordable, looks great and is in an ideal location (above Wal-​Mart and a few blocks from Fort Totten Metro), but all the potential positives pale in comparison to the reality.
With 1 – 2 months free rent offered on the front end, Fort Totten Square sounds like a great deal. And while I have spoken with a few tenants who have not experienced the noise issues on the sparsely populated halls/​floors, as the building fills up it seems to becoming more like a frat house and less like a place to call home.
