Got my nails done there. First I was lied to when I called. They said they do gel nails which they do not do. Instead, they painted my nails with regular nail polish. They lasted for 5 days and cost $ 40. The lady also did a messy job and dried them with tiny holes in the polish and for the few days the nails did last, the holes filled up with dirt and looked terrible because they were light color. She also went over my cuticles with the polish which looked tacky. Terrible and expensive service. The lady, Suzette had a bad attitude, was extremely self righteous and wanted to tell me her entire life story after she was rude about me asking questions about the nail products she was using. She may be great at providing other services and perhaps she is nicer on other days but with me, she was extremely rushed, did not listen at all to what I was asking and wanted, and did a very poor job on painting my nails.

Norah is the BEST! I went a few weeks ago and I left looking amazing! She was very knowledgeable about African American hair. I came in and my hair was very very dry and tangled. I left with my hair looking healthy and so smooth. It was light and super straight all in about an hour! Best experience at a hair salon ever.

Norah is an amazing stylist. She makes you feel and look like a million bucks. She is adept at working with all types of hair and she is extremely knowledgeable. She is a wonderful person and worth every penny. My hair feels and looks fantastic!

I find it difficult to find people in DC who know how to cut women’s short hair. Roslyn always gives me a great cut.

Excellent service w/​out all the pretense. Suzette takes great care of my waxing, pedicure, and eyebrow needs. She is professional, prompt, and keeps an eye on things like ingrowns and «runner’s feet» problems.

I had my first visit today and I cannot explain how awesome Norah is! I have natural hair and I came in needing layering done and a blow out. I was in and out within an hour! My hair looked amazing and felt like silk. She is VERY knowledgeable about African American hair and our hair needs. I appreciate that she took the time to let you know what she is putting on your hair and why. She will definitely be my go-​to!
The salon is nice and very accommodating. I scheduled my appointment on Tuesday and was able to get one for Thursday. Then on Thursday I called again to see if I could make my appointment earlier and they were able to accommodate.

My office is literally right next door to this salon and it is super convenient. Thought it was too good to be true! Received a fantastic gel removal and manicure from the technician and she treated the gel removal so well and was very friendly. Recommended a nail product for my peeling nails. Manicures are also super reasonably priced for DC! Definitely recommend for anyone who works in Farragut area!

I came here to get an up-​do for a black-​tie work event. Overall, I was very pleased. The price was right, my hair looked amazing, and it all took less than an hour. I showed my hairstylist, Rosaline, a handful of pictures of styles I liked, and she took those ideas and ran with it. The style she gave me looked elegant and inventive, and it was full of curls and texture. It looked like it took a much longer time to put together than it actually did. Plus, everyone was so nice and complimentary at the end of the styling. I’d come back here. And, as other reviews have mentioned, they do tend to be very quick — good place to go if you are in a pinch.

I have been tweezing my eyebrows since I was 13 — afraid to ever let anyone near them with wax. Over those 15+ years of tweezing, I had perfected the shape, and I was happy with them. In 2009, when talking with a friend I flirted with the idea of waxing. She recommended Suzette at Fusion Day Spa for me as a first timer. I went in, and have never looked back! Suzette is great! She put me at ease, was quick, and very clean! Best of all, she’s maintained the shape of my eyebrows that I love so much.
If you’re worried about getting waxed for the first time, definitely give Suzette and Fusion Day Spa a chance. You won’t be disappointed.

Norah is an amazing stylist! She has been doing my hair for about a year and my hair is growing. She really knows how to do wonders with African American hair. Each and every visit is like the first. You are really in for a treat!

Debbie has been waxing my eyebrows for 8 years. I get a million compliments on how good they look. I highly recommend Debbie and Fusion Day Spa. Also, the manicurists are some of the best in the city. Whenever I get my nails done, always in red nail polish, they don’t chip. At all. That’s impressive.

These gals were so nice and saved me from looking terrible I front of my bosses who I only see one or twice a year.
I left my straightener at home and was at a conference around the corner and had an hour in between the end of the conference and the banquet.
It wasn’t enough time to buy one and then get back in time before it started. I walked in, explained my situation and they brought me right into the back and washed and straightened my hair at a fair price and super fast. Made it back to the conference before the banquet started.

Years ago after having gone to cut rate nail salons to get my eyebrows razored or waxed I let them grow in for two months, sick of them looking terrible all the time. I asked someone I trusted for a recommendation and she told me that Debbie at 17^th and L was THE ONLY place to get waxed.
I made an appointment that week and nine years later NO one else touches my brows. Debbie listened to what I wanted and educated me on where my natural arch was, what worked for my face and genuinely made me feel comfortable. She is professional, friendly and genuinely nice. I honestly think she loves her clients as much as we love her. Debbie lives and breathes waxing, there’s no one better in the DMV.
This salon is always clean, bright and airy. I’ve never had a bad experience and have brought tens of friends and family members here.

This was my first time getting a Brazilian and Suzette was incredible! Not only was she fast and thorough, she made the experience much more tolerable, and as painless as possible. She is also very sweet and a pleasure to talk to, which made me feel more at ease and comfortable. Will definitely be going back!

Norah is absolutely AMAZING!!! I am new to the area and, until today, had not found a stylist to straighten my natural AA hair. While I usually visit salons that cater primarily to black women, I decided on Fusion Day Spa because of the convenient location (right off the Farragut North metro) and one Unilocal review in particular that praised Norah’s flat ironing abilities. I am so glad I made an appointment!
First, the receptionist at Fusion Day Spa was very kind. I called to schedule an appointment at 10 am and was able to get in at 2:30 the same day. When I arrived, Norah introduced herself before I had even finished hanging up my coat. After explaining a bad experience I had with a stylist two months before and showing Norah my awful haircut, she assured me that she could make it better.
Norah instructed the shampoo technician to use a hydrating shampoo and deep conditioner (which was included in the price). She explained that she uses products that are nourishing for curly hair in particular and shared her experiences with natural hair clients. I was really happy to hear that she does not destroy curl patterns and promotes healthy hair.
The straightening process went much better than I thought it would. I expected to feel a lot of heat from the blowdryer, but didn’t experience any discomfort. Norah talked me through every step, which I also did not expect. She explained what products she planned to use and asked me to look at the ingredient list on ones she thought I would be interested in. I learned about the best brushes to use for heat styling and even a cool trick for laying down my edges. The flat ironing step went by pretty quickly and I was out of the shop within an hour.
I would highly recommend Norah to any woman with natural hair. Especially anyone in need of a professional, polished look. Norah gave me a haircut that received a ton of compliments when I returned to my office this afternoon. I am so glad to have found her.

I went here to get a Brazilian and following recommendations, I went to Lidia — she was great– never double dipped and was conscious of when I was in pain (it had been a while since my last wax so the pain was my fault, not hers) and gave me a cold cloth for sensitive areas. The price point is pretty unheard of in DC so I left satisfied– particularly because she accommodated my request to use hard wax only (she used a cloth to grip the wax rather than pulling it with her hand– but it was still hard wax. I think this made the process less painful actually since the process of grabbing it can really hurt at times).
The only think holding me back from giving it a 5 stars is that the atmosphere is 4 (maybe even a bit less) stars — but hobeslt with the price point you shouldn’t be expecting a 5 star «spa» wax experience.
They were extremely hygienic, Lidia was experienced, and it was very affordable — all in all, Id highly recommend but don’t expect anything fancy.

Fluid «appointment» times. I had scheduled an appointment for noon on a Saturday, which cut my busy weekend day into awkward time chunks. I planned/​moved my other Saturday events around this appointment. I got a confirmation call the day before and another confirmation call the morning of. I confirmed my noon appointment both times.
When I arrived, it was 11:50. I knew I was early, but I checked in. The lady at the front desk said things were running on time and I’d be in shortly. At noon, I checked back in to see how things were going. Same story. I checked back in at 12:10. Same story. I checked back in at 12:20. Same story… until after 12:30, at which point, I asked the front desk to cancel my appointment. At the same time, the lady who was supposed to help me walked out and said she’d be ready shortly. Well, if that’s true, I’m glad I left because I would have expected her to clean up and get new, sanitized materials, which meant at least another 10 minutes. Needless to say, I left very disappointed after having gone way out of my way to come here.
Also, for what it’s worth, everyone getting their hair cut here had white hair. Everyone.

It had been some time since I had a wax done due to various reasons including moving 800 miles to D.C. I am so very impressed by the cleanliness of the salon, professionalism of the receptionist and especially the gentle nature of Lidia — who by the way is an impressive lady if you ever have time to read the wall in the room about her giving history do it.
She was thorough and did not double dip. She used a separate pan to take out the wax to be used for my session and a new stick for every area. Not cheap on cleanliness! She was quick and had an understanding of the towel request for me to bite down on — lol! (don’t judge me its my «thing»)
Best 58.00 (includes tip) I have spent since moving here!

To be honest, I’ve searched high and low, near and far for good places to wax in Washington, DC. Had an egregious experience at one place on 17^th that I found through Groupon and then upgraded to a place on Adams Morgan that I realized later actually used the lowest quality wax possible.
I finally found Lidia at fusion and my life changed forever. I’ve been able to always schedule appointments on the same day as well as in advance. And the blue wax that she uses is much better quality than the yellow wax they use in roll ons at other places.
She’s also super enjoyable to be around and especially energetic. I don’t know about you, but I want to enjoy my salon, spa, and aesthetic experiences in general and I get that with Lidia!
