Georgetown Suites

My daughter and I recently visited for a college tour. When availability was limited at other inns in the area, I decided on Georgetown Suites because of the location and the free breakfast is a big plus.
Our first experience was not so good — our driver unfortunately delivered us to the 29^th Street location and after walking our luggage/​carry on to the small lobby we were told our reservation was at their other location up the street one block on 30^th. Not knowing where we were, and with the rain, I was NOT pleased! They had an employee kindly take one suitcase and carry-​on (I don’t travel light) and my daughter lugged the other suitcase to the other location in the rain (me with my flat suede shoes…) I was perplexed they didn’t have a shuttle to the other location.
Our check-​in was fine, other than that my husband had thought he paid for 2 boat cruises that were offered after he made the online reservations but the front desk did not have any vouchers/​tickets.
We loved our room, we really did. It was very spacious with many windows — wonderful!
One night my daughter noticed something up at the ceiling in the bedroom so I got up on the bed and it was some type of insect.(YIKES) Since it was late I didn’t want to call the front desk for an exterminator so I used a shoe (I know, I felt very bad, I did, but it was that or no sleep from worrying about where it might go next) to sleep more soundly, although we wondered if it had family living elsewhere in the room. When I told the front desk the next day they suggested it was probably a silverfish (biggest one I’ve ever seen) and to let them know what they wanted me to do about it. I didn’t really want our room sprayed bc of the smell so we didn’t choose to do anything more.
Then, the next evening we got take-​out dinner and brought back to our spacious room. I noticed something black on the floor in the living rm area, near the door, and it was a mound of ANTS, feasting on a crumb on the floor. Oh my gosh, that did mandate a call downstairs. They sent someone up pronto with ant spray and then he vacuumed. We opened the windows (40 degrees out) bc of the smell but it was handled immediately which was appreciated.
All in all, we enjoyed the spaciousness and brightness of our room and the free breakfast was a big bonus. All the service attendants from housekeeping to maintenance were very nice and attentive. Not sure that I would stay here again, due to the insect problems.

An older building and some dated décor, yet clean & spacious. I would come back and bring the kids! Easy walk to all the shops and restaurants on M street!

Great value with a groupon deal and great location. Walking distance to plenty of dining and shopping. Steps from the metro buses and blue and yellow circulator buses to take you to the tourist sites including Georgetown University. Our room with two double beds was very spacious that we had enough room to lay out our 3 luggages and still not bump into one another. The room came with 2 terry cloth robes that was a nice touch to help with relaxing. The small kitchen had all the amenities: fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, plates, cups, utensils, and even paper towels and dishwashing soap. It was very clean and there was no issues with the smell (which other reviews had mentioned). The breakfast from 7−10am was just okay, but it was just enough to grab a quick bite before a long day of site seeing. We were even able to pack a fruit or two for our mid morning snack. There was coffee and juices throughout the day, which was nice to have.
The major plus was the front desk service. Everyone we spoke to was very polite and very knowledgeable about everything DC. There was no hesitation with any simple request and they always flashed us a smile. Jeremy was the most helpful in showing us the maps and educating us on the best budget friendly ways to get around to all the sites we were already planning to see.
I will definitely consider Georgetown Suites when I return to DC in the near future.

Stayed here from Thursday till today. For the price of everything I think everything went pretty well. Our room stayed clean throughout our stay. The view was amazing plus we had a balcony which was nice. I loved that. You could see the people walking on the streets. The kitchen part was awesome & helpful too considering everything is so expensive in DC for eating out all the time. I was very happy with everything. The breakfast was good in the morning too. Plus you can find street parking right outside the hotel. I would deff stay here a few more times. It’s on right off 30^th street which is off M which is the main street in DC. So you can literally walk to anything. Shopping or to grab a bite to eat. I loved it.

Horrible experience!!! Do not stay here unless you want pimps knocking on your door at 0200 in the morning looking for one of his girls. This place let anybody wonder in without checking their ID or why they are there. This place is a safe haven for human traffickers! Please stay away for your own good!!! My husband and I use to frequent this place very often. Never again!!!

I was hoping for a half star to rate 3.5 stars… but felt the effort of the staff makes me lean to 4 stars for what you get for the price. Very budget friendly hotel in a great location for shopping and restaurants. We were attending an event at the 4 seasons but did not feel it necessary to spend $ 450+/night there… we were out and about anyway. The hotel room we were first assigned had a malfunctioning toilet so after sort of getting settled we were moved to a new room — which was a suite and larger than original room we had. Hotel has a continental breakfast included — decent for a quick bite in the morning.
For more on rooms, take note that rooms have kitchens and you may smell what other guests are cooking. In our case, when we were moved, the hallway smelled strong of someone cooking — when we got into our room we thought someone was frying fish but associated it outside our room. However the next two days realized it was what someone had cooked previously in the room… fried fish smell all throughout room. Now we could have moved… again, but felt we could deal given our short stay. How the staff delivered– upon checking out, was given a room upgrade for our next stay.
Too many positives for the negative also weighing in location and price — we would recommend hotel and stay again.

Really liked this hotel for the price. Staff very friendly and the mattress was incredible. I slept better than I have in months! Great location and very comfortable. It’s not the Four Seasons, but doesn’t cost as much either. Had dinner down the street at Farmers Fishers Bakers for a great meal. Lots of local businesses to visit.

Great location at a very good price (used the cool deal; get parking for $ 15/​night), surprisingly decent breakfast, we stayed for four nights w three kids and the room was big enough though on the dated side, but overall great value and unbeatable location.

A little hard to find if you’re unfamiliar with the neighborhood, but once you do it’s such a good hotel. Not super fancy, but it’s in a perfect location if you’re trying to go to M Street or travel around Georgetown in general. Prices were also really reasonable and the staff was great.

Liked the place. Great location, good price. Big cozy room. Very clean everywhere. The gentleman who was on night shift when we arrived was very nice. He even came outside when we got lost on the way to parking lot. Definitely will stay there again if I go to DC.

I have never written a review in my life, I’ve stayed at a ton of great hotels but never really took the time to write a review on them, this time was so different so I decided to take time to write a review. I wanted to take my boyfriend on a weekend trip to Washington D.C. (Georgetown) because he had never been there before. We decided to stay at Georgetown Suites on 30^th street and it was amazing. The staff is so friendly and educated on what their hotel offers, our king sized suite was BEAUTIFUL and had so much room and a fully equipped kitchen. It was super clean and organized. The staff was very helpful about things to do around the area and the breakfast was also great. I don’t understand how anyone could write a bad review on this hotel. This will definitely be our go-​to spot every time we come down. We LOVED it.

When we first arrived we got to the room and there was a cigarette odor. The manager was so nice and gave us an upgraded suite free of charge, and that earns them 4 stars.

Got the deal on Groupon. Location, $ 30 parking, and continental breakfast are good. The room is dated, view of the overpass, and dated bathroom. If you aren’t spending time in the room, this is your place. I would have been upset if I had not gotten a discounted price.

If you value location and SPACE over amenities you will come to appreciate this hotel. My wife and I brought our 7 and 11 year old to the DC area for a family get away. our initial impression was a bit negative because the hallway carpet needs to be replaced but we quickly had smiles when we saw the size of the rooms. clean, quiet and very spacious. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Foggy Bottom metro and is perfectly located in Georgetown right off the main road. would definitely book here again, especially with kids. The small but useful and properly working gym equipment is in an odd location but it was in better condition than most hotels’ gyms I’ve used.

Hubby and I took an extended weekend getaway and stayed here. It was great to park right below the hotel. The staff was really friendly, breakfast was nice and changed a little each morning and they have coffee, tea and water available all day. Loved the location as it was in walking distance to just about everything including the foggy bottom so we did not have to drive anywhere. We got a room with a kitchen and although we did not use it, it looked nice and useful. The bed was very comfortable and we both could not get over how clean the entire hotel was including our room. He went to hang a towel on top of a door and ran his finger along it first and there was not even any dust up there. We would go back in a heartbeat!

I’m partial to the Georgetown Suites because we lived here for a month with our 2 year old while on business a mere 11 years ago. This summer was the first time we had ever been back-​now with our 13yo and 9yo.
Our suite was nice-​the bedroom had been updated and was very comfy. Yes the bathrooms could be updated, but they were clean.
Updated lobby/​breakfast area with a nice FREE breakfast each day.
The staff were gracious, polite and helpful. Mapped out routes for our daily sightseeing, told us where to get certain buses, how long it would take to get somewhere.
I’ll always be a fan.

The elephant in the room is that the décor and furnishings in this hotel are out of the late 1980s, however everything works. The AC is cold, the wireless is fast, the water pressure is good, and the rooms are very large — they actually are suites, complete with kitchenettes.
This hotel is actually in Georgetown, although it is on the quite side of the neighborhood. Some of the discount travel sites advertise hotels as being in Georgetown, but they are actually a bit outside of what DC locals would consider Georgetown, so beware.
I got a room for $ 99 on a discount hotel app, which cannot be beat for a weekend night in Georgetown.
If there are any real estate private equity guys out there, this place may be worth looking into. You cannot replicate the fantastic location; they are charging below market rates; and with the suite model/​kitchenette layouts, they are not maximizing their space. A renovation that would modernize the building, eliminate all the kitchenettes, and thus fit more rooms into the building, could be profitable.

Georgetown Suites is on the quieter side of Georgetown, It’s away from all the chaotic tourist venues of Washington DC, but still relatively short walk, car or bus ride to the Georgetown shopping and restaurant strip. Very friendly and helpful hotel staff and management team. The hotel room are very clean, great amenities with nice touches such as free wifi, gym, spa, and excellent breakfasts in the morning. I highly recommend Georgetown Suites

Great location! Rooms are very spacious! Like a decent size apartment space. Loved the bathroom with its clear shower door (sparkly and clear). It was within walking distance to all the shops and Blues Alley Jazz Club is 2 blocks away. The price was just right and the continental breakfast was good. (Try the banana nut muffin. my fave) I would recommend this place for its location (street parking is available and there is a parking garage down the street) (colonial parking) and spacious rooms with a friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay and hope you will enjoy yours!

Located in a great area, tons of shops and touristy things to do. The hotel is a beautiful brick building, but the room was only okay. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the smell. Not terrible, but we had to buy air freshener from CVS to make it habitable. Not my idea of a «suite» hotel. The bed was like a springy old mattress, nothing to write home about. I’m pretty sure that was a callgirl (to put it nicely) that came knocking one evening because she looked just as shocked as I did when I opened the door.
Free breakfast each morning was a nice touch, and they have an instant coffee machine that will make you any coffee drink any time of the day. Staff was nice enough and amenable to our requests, but I’d rather spend $ 100+ on a night at a better hotel.
