Dr. Rezvani is the BEST eye doctor I have ever had. If you have vision problems or dry eye problems she will definitely find a solution and improve your life! I have suffered with dry eyes for years and have seen several eye doctors in Washington, DC with no real answers. But Dr. Rezvani suggested a different kind of contact lens and other ways to resolve my issues and I’m delighted with the results. I cannot recommend Idoc highly enough. The staff is incredibly pleasant, professional and efficient as well. The location is very accessible (near Metro Center) and the optical shop and examination rooms are gorgeous.

Excellent service. Provided generous discounts, very responsive, and good advice. Definitely more concerned with repeat service and developing long-​term clients than just making a fast buck. I’ll definitely keep coming back.

I was so lucky to find an eye doctor open on a Saturday to help me with my desperate needs! I was in town for business and unfortunately the hotel maid service threw out my contacts by mistake. I was in a bind and could not see! Thankfully, this place was open and I could not have asked for customer service! Thank you again! I fully recommend this place in the future!

While the people are friendly, they are wholly incompetent. I was initially frustrated during my meeting with the doctor (she was running about 15 minutes late, though that is not a primary concern) because she did not listen to my needs. She was trying to push her agenda – selling daily contact lenses.
The doctor did relent and write a prescription for the contacts that have been working very well for me for the past several years. Upon checking out, I was told they would be shipped to my house. Several days later, I received an email stating that the contacts were in the store. I reached out to them, and they arranged to have them delivered to my residence. However, upon closer inspection, they did not label any of the boxes! While I can do this on my own, I have never had that happen before.
I strongly advise looking elsewhere.

People work at this place look nice, however, this place is way too expensive! Poor commmunication overall. The doctor did not prescrip me «properly». I have allergy for a while and I knew it. So I asked the doctor what should I do, if I can find some good eye drops. The doctor prescripted me a Brand Name eye drop which I need pay $ 200, before prescripton she didn’t even notice me it was a brand name product, which usually insurance doesn’t cover. (I only knew it until I went to picke up my drops from CVS) I complained about it, and they say they don’t know what my insurance covers. EXCUSE ME! Everyone knows insurances most of the time don’t cover any brand name product! I think they could probally get some commision from the brand company. And after 4 months (one month overdue according to the billing statement) billing office sent me a $ 195 charge for the eye exam. I asked why they charge me this, the billing person said because there is a medical diagnose code on the bill. This place is super expensive even with insurance. In taotal, for one year contact lense and everything else I paid over $ 600 after insurance! I don’t think getting eye exam for glasses or contatc lense is such a high tech thing. Any optical store could do it. To me, not worth the money. Terrible expenrience.
Follow up: the Doctor called me by herself right after I posted this comment! I guess she just figured it out since I posted this right after I paid my last bill. You can comment back whatever you want here, but to me overall, it was just horrible customer experience.

No. No. No. I went into this store to order glasses, having a prescription from my doctor. I told them ONE criteria: I have a very, very strong prescription, and I wanted glasses that would not distort the shape of my face, i.e., facial inset, or at least would minimize it. I put on my current glasses, which I hate because of this facial distortion feature, to show them what I meant. Bottom line, they gave me horrible advice. They helped me pick out a cute pair of frames, but when they came back with the lenses in, the facial inset was as bad, if not worse, than my current glasses. They offered to «restyle» me in a different pair of glasses (they said round glasses would eliminate or minimize this feature, which would have been nice to know the first time around, when I specifically told them this was the most important thing to me about picking out glasses), but the selection here is quite limited, and there was nothing that worked. These glasses cost $ 840. I cannot return them. At my suggestion, I asked if I could just leave the glasses with them get a refund for the cost of the frames, hoping that I could cut my losses and use the partial refund to go purchase a new pair of glasses somewhere else. They agreed, but the frames were only $ 279, and I couldn’t afford to leave $ 560 on the table and try to find a new pair of glasses for under $ 300 (not with my prescription, anyway), so I ended up just keeping the glasses. My goal in buying new glasses was to get a pair that I liked, so I could wear them a couple of days a week, instead of just wearing them on the day of my annual eye exam. Instead, I paid $ 840 dollars for a pair of glasses that I will wear one day per year. Because glasses are so expensive, I haven’t bought a new pair in about five years. I look forward to five years from now, when I’ve saved enough money to buy a new pair of glasses, and then going somewhere far away from iDOC, where I can get good advice on frames and a pair of glasses that I like. Going in here was one of the most disappointing and expensive mistakes I have ever made.

I’ve always ignored my eyes because if I didn’t need glasses, then all was well, right? Well, this worked fine until I woke up with a nagging eye infection that lasted longer than it should have.
I called and made a quick appointment and met with Dr. Rezvani a day or so later. She diagnosed me and gave me a prescription for some eye drops, etc. Bueno. Problem solved. A year later, I went back to what I would have to call «The Eye Spa.» This place is not your typical eye doctor’s office. It’s a haven for your eyes. And they play really cool music, not muzak. :-)) I explained my reason for coming in (eye exam and being unable to read texts while driving – so awful, I know.) and she went to work on my eyes. She examined me and walked me through everything she was doing while she was doing it. Hey, those big machines coming at you can feel intimidating, so it was nice to know what was going on during the exam.
Dr. Rezvani explained my sight problem and gave me a few options for the type of eyeglasses I’d need to have for my nearsightedness.
The glasses they have are not your typical brands – they’re all handmade and most are European. They have a few drawers of less expensive options, which is good for some people. I, however, am a stylish lady and wanted to accessorize my face with something daring and unique. I chose a pair of chic-​geek glasses by Theo. Love, love, love what I ended up with.
During my selection, I was assisted by Dr. Rezvani’s staff, who are extremely informed about the selection of eye ware. I was told my glasses would be in within two weeks. I was surprised a week later to get a text from the office, saying my glasses were in. Yay!
My whole experience from start to finish was a cinch, a breeze, a tall glass of lemonade with a garnish of mint on a hot summer day. I highly recommend Dr. Rezvani to anyone who needs a high level of care and attention.
I’ve read other reviews about Dr. Rezvani – one is not so nice. I’m very surprised and based on the review and intensity with which it was written, I’d venture to say might be «user-​error.» But that’s just my gut thought. My personal experiences here have all been nothing short of supreme.

Dr. Zitta Rezvani is a fantastic eye doctor. She helped me figure out why one of my eyes is a bit blurrier than the other (it’s a little lazy, go figure), and helped me get just the right prescription for my glasses when my blurred eye was confusing. The front end staff is hilarious and welcoming. Dr. Rezvani is the first optometrist I’ve ever actually wanted to stick with. Highly recommend.

BUYER BEWARE: You will be overcharged for purchases here, unless you know your insurance coverage very well and pay close attention to each line item on your bill. Not only was I overcharged on 2 occasions for a total of $ 110, but my husband was almost overcharged by $ 100 — thankfully, I was there to review his quote. As if that is not bad enough, I got the runaround from employees, and the business owner kept trying to blame a third party for these mistakes!
First, I should say that my eye exam went well. I was charged the correct co-​pay, and I paid for a contact lens exam, as well. The doctor seemed nice, and I was happy to order reading glasses from this location. However, I know I have amazing optical insurance, so when the bill came to $ 350+, I had to take a closer look at the line items. Good thing I did because the optician (Lauren) overcharged me $ 100! She refunded the money to my credit card and was very apologetic. I thought it was an honest mistake, but…
My husband also ordered glasses from iDoc. Just in case the same «honest mistake» happened again with the bill, I went with him to review the line items. Good thing I did because Annette (who normally works in the back) almost overcharged my husband $ 100! Thankfully I was able to catch this mistake before my husband’s card was charged. Annette assured us that she normally didn’t work the front desk, so we figured it was an honest mistake, but…
I wanted to replace the lenses in my everyday glasses, so I came in and met with Mike. I told him (in very un-​technical terms) that I wanted the same lenses that I had in my glasses, but that I just needed the prescription updated. He told me he understood and charged me a $ 10 co-​pay. I was pretty sure I had never paid a co-​pay for simply placing an order w/​o a doctor’s visit, so I told him he should check whether I actually owed that amount. He said I did, and that he could not order the lenses without my co-​pay. So, I paid, but…
I called my insurance and found out that I was right. I do not have to pay just to order lenses. I only have a co-​pay when I have an eye exam. So, I spoke to Annette and Lauren again, and they assured me that I would be getting a check in the mail soon (because for some reason they could not refund the $ 10 to my credit card). Sure enough, several weeks went by, and not only did no check come in the mail, but my lenses didn’t come! Finally, the lenses showed up, and even though they told me they’d call me, they didn’t. I had to call and find out for myself that my lenses had arrived a few days prior. (Still no $ 10 check). Well…
They ordered the wrong lenses! When I asked for the same lenses I had, I meant the same lenses. Instead, they ordered me some super thick lenses, so I called my insurance and got approval for a re-​order. I was told the lenses would be rushed and that they would arrive in one week. More than three weeks later…
I showed up to iDoc, and they ordered the wrong lenses again! They claimed the lenses were thinner, but when I asked to see the lenses they just replaced (to compare), there was no difference. I asked them to show me the lenses I originally had in the frame, and I said I told them I wanted the same lenses, and this is when I got very upset. *This time, the doctor/​owner was actually present, and she stepped in when I said I felt like this was a systemic practice of overbilling and mistakes.
Dr. Rezvani acted offended, but she went through my account history and noticed the overbilling. She wrote me a check for the $ 10 co-​pay on the spot (incorrectly spelling my name) and said it was an «honest mistake» because some insurance companies charge a materials co-​pay in addition to a doctor visit co-​pay (except my insurance information was on a sheet in my file, and Mike looked at it when he overcharged me… so did Lauren when she overcharged me… so did Annette when she almost overcharged my husband). The doctor also tried to claim that a «glitch» in the computer system must have been the reason Lauren overcharged me and Annette almost overcharged my husband. But, wait. There’s more…
The doctor not only failed to take responsibility for the overbilling by her staff, but she then blamed my insurance company for sending the wrong lenses! She kept telling me that I needed to understand that it was «completely out of [their] control» what the third-​party lab sends them in terms of lenses. What makes no sense to me is that iDoc placed the order, so they have at least some control, right? In addition, she said her staff didn’t know what lenses to order because they didn’t order my original lenses. I gave her my previous optometrist’s contact information so she could find out what he ordered, but Dr. Rezvani said I would have to pay an additional $ 200 to have her order the correct lenses because they ordered the middle thickness lenses, instead of the thinnest. At this point, I never want to do business with them again!

Dr. Rezvani was the best optometrist that I have seen. The staff and quality of the eye wear were top notch as well. I highly recommend.

While the office looks great and the front staff are friendly, they have failed to get my prescription right both times I’ve visited. Dr. Elnaz Taslim-​Saravi handled this with grace and courteousness the first time, but Dr. Zitta Rezvani treated me like an idiot on my second return visit. There was no sense that they had made a mistake or wasted my time and money (despite telling in person my prescription hadn’t changed, their print-​out told me otherwise so I ended up buying the wrong contact lenses). Dr Rezvani even checked her phone messages in the middle of our appointment and while I was in mid-​sentence, forcing me — with no sense of apology or shame — to repeat my question. I’d like to return if only for Dr Elnaz Taslim-Saravi’s care, but the two-​out-​of-​two mess-​ups on the prescription and the chance of being patronized by Dr Rezvani again are a strong deterrent. I’ll be going elsewhere…

Wonderful Optometrists, horrendous customer service — The optometrists are smart, helpful, intelligent women who help clients problem solve and offer recommendations and trials. The Customer service, however, is poor. Incidents: 1. I was incorrectly advised the contacts I ordered had arrived but when I showed up, it was an error — granted the front desk was apologetic and offered samples to tie me over but it still meant another visit to the office during the holidays. 2. I left multiple messages requesting another appointment (because my initial prescription wasn’t correct) but messages were not returned. They indicated their voicemail was not working (?). 3. I spoke to the front desk asking for a prescription to be e-​mailed or faxed to me. No response by phone, email or fax. I called back again today and left a voicemail. No response. 4. I was once waiting to see the optometrist and one front desk staff was being notably unkind with the other. I felt bad for the poor girl. Awkward. I am normally very patient but at this point, I have lost that patience. Too bad, such nice doctors.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Rezvani’s at iDoc for several years. I love that the store stocks the latest trend in eyewear. With my vision plan, I come each year and alternate between getting prescription sunglasses and regular glasses — I always get compliments on the glasses that Dr. Rezvani and her staff help me pick out.
If you’re interested in an eye exam from a courteous doctor and want to get nice trendy glasses, I definitely recommend iDoc.

Love this place. I didn’t get an eye exam, just to buy glasses after experiencing the worst MeEyeDr place ever. Great frames, awesome staff and a great experience. I’ll keep returning!

Dr. Rezvani was very nice and made the appointment a breeze. The staff up front was also very helpful setting an appointment and getting me registered in their system.
The store front location makes it perfect for a quick work day appointment, especially if you are in the Penn Quarter area. It definitely beats going into a big doctor’s office.
Highly recommend using their services.

Rodney is a rock star optician and will find the most appropriate and stylish glasses for anyone! Dr Rezvani is sweet and knowledgeable and always helpful. She diagnosed an early retinal tear and got me to a retinologist ASAP which likely saved my vision in one eye
Their glasses are pricey but contacts are market price and shipped to my house.

I’ve been really happy with my care here. The front office staff is friendly and helpful and the doctors take good care of you. They spend plenty of time with you and answer all your questions, and they can always be reached by phone for follow-​up questions. Even the technicians are good; I once had a contact lens mishap and was able to come in for help from a technician (the same day) when the doctors weren’t in. Also, the location is good and I think they take most vision plans. I would definitely recommend it.

I’ve been wearing glasses/​contacts since age 9 and I’ve always been lucky to have had only the best ODs. Until IDOC. IDOC has scarred me for life. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the DC Board of Optometry.
TL;DR: This place is a sham and the doctor is a quack. IDOC only cares about your money. Dr. Rezvani pushes one brand of contacts; even after I told her they give me horrible migraines, she simply gave me more samples from the same brand. Those samples FELL APART IN MY EYES. It was incredibly painful and took me an hour to flush all the pieces out.
I first had my appointment with Dr. Rezvani 6 weeks ago and I still don’t have new contacts. I’m on the last pair in my old prescription, just praying that I don’t lose them before my new ones get here. So begins my saga:
–1^st appt: Dr. Rezvani tells me to try some brand of dailies, even though I tell her I am perfectly happy with my Acuvue Oasys. She gives me some samples, claiming that they are the best on the market. On my way out, Rodney tells me that IDOC offers the best pricing for the brand so I should be sure to order from them when I decide.
–2 hours after I put in the contacts, my eyes start itching like crazy. No matter how much I blink, the lens won’t focus and I feel them scratching on my eyeballs. An hour after that, I develop horrible migraines. I try the contacts again for the next two days with the same results.
–I call to schedule a follow-​up with Teela.
–I show up on time for my follow-​up, but Teela tells me that no doctor is in and that someone probably called me. I tell her that no one called me, double-​checking my phone. She responds «that’s weird» and walks away.
–Meanwhile, I make over ten calls to the place to check on my glasses, which I ordered during my first visit. (I was told that they’d be ready in 5 business days, but did not get them until after a month and numerous strongly worded calls.) Every time I call either Rodney or Teela tells me someone will call me back in 10 – 15 minutes, but no one ever does.
–Since they’ve already charged my insurance, I call yet again to schedule a follow-​up. At the appointment, I tell the doctor about the migraines and pain. She claims that my eyes are just dry, but I say I’ve never experienced this before. I ask to stick with Acuvue. She again pushes the same brand on me, but a different version. She says she didn’t like the previous version either (I guess they are no longer the best on the market?). I also complain to her about Teela and Rodney. She seems to care and apologizes profusely.
–Two hours after I put them in, the contacts again become too irritating to bear. I try to take them out, but they won’t come out. My eyes get incredibly painful when I blink; I can barely open my eyes and everything becomes blurry. I call my husband over, who tells me that the lenses seem to have broken apart in my eyes. I rub and rinse out my eyes, but some pieces get stuck in the back, under the eyelid. An hour and a pair of very red eyes later, I am free.
–I call back and ask for an Acuvue prescription. They claim they only have samples in the one brand, but that the doctor can write me a prescription for Acuvue. They keep trying to «call me back later,» but at this point I’ve mentioned that I’m a litigator and tell them that I will not be hanging up until my issue gets resolved.
–I get the prescription via email and type in the order for 1800 contacts. The site (and a customer service representative) informs me that the prescription is impossible; Acuvue does not make lenses in the prescribed base.
–I call the next day. Teela and Rodney both tell me that they will call me back. I tell Teela and Rodney this is urgent because I have no contacts left. They both suggest stopping by to pick up some samples in their brand. I tell them to tell the doctor that they fell apart in my eyes. After I call back the third time, I again refuse to hang up until I talk to the doctor. She acts apologetic and says she will fix the prescription. I finally get the corrected prescription and place my order at 1800 contacts.
I have not yet received my order, and because I didn’t get Acuvue samples, I have no ideas if the new prescription will work for me. I wish I’d heeded the 1-​star Unilocal reviews before I stupidly allowed them charge my insurance.
Teela and Rodney need to be fired. They are nice to you as long as they think they can trick you into giving this place more money and buying their brand. Once they realize you’re not falling for their fake act, they find no reason to do their jobs. Every time I walk past the store it is empty. I question the integrity of a doctor who continues to employ these people when she’s been made aware of their ineptitude. I also question the competence of a doctor who pushes only one brand of contacts and cannot get prescriptions right.
If you value your eyes, your time, your sanity, or your money, avoid this place like the plague.

Great experience! Yes they can be a little pricey— but I imagine that’s an issue with what your insurance covers and what it doesnt. However Dr. Rezvani was thorough friendly, and knowledgeable. Her staff was equally gracious and helpful even after I decided to purchase my hardware elsewhere. I am a big fan and intend to use iDoc optical so long as they take BCBS!

Had I written a Unilocal review after my first visit to IDOC, it would have been a 4 star review. But after my visit today I am so upset that giving them 2 stars seems generous.
Let me preface by saying the doctors here are great, my checkup exam about a month ago was thorough but not so long or in-​depth to make me itching to escape. The doctor was super nice and seems to know her stuff.
Today, the receptionist totally ruined this place for me. Rude beyond belief (even talked about me to other receptionist while I was still in the room) then gave me a 5 minute lecture on how if my insurance doesn’t pay for the visit they will bill me and I’ll have to pay myself (yes, I know how insurance works).
I came from work, in work clothes, I don’t look like a hobo. I have no idea why she was like that.
To make things more annoying, I have a very specific eye issue, I called and explained my problem to the receptionist who assured me (twice) the doctor has seen this before and they can take care of it. Imagine my frustration when I finally get in to see the doctor and the doctor assures me this is definitely not something they can treat and her receptionists know this so they couldn’t have advised me otherwise. Thankfully, after demanding, they agreed to not charging me for a visit.
Thankfully there’s more than 1 eye doctor in this town.
