ICLS was founded in 1966 in Washington, DC as a private organization dedicated to providing foreign language and English as Second Language (ESL) training and sponsoring exchange visitors for internships and traineeships at US host companies. Since its inception, ICLS has worked cooperatively with international organizations, government agencies, private companies, and individual students from all over the world, providing language instruction and testing in over 80 languages.

Established in 1966.

As a Woman-​Owned Small Business, all of our programs are licensed by the District of Columbia’s Education Licensure Commission. In April of 2010, ICLS was awarded institutional accreditation by CEA, which is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a reliable authority on the quality of instruction and services provided by accredited English language programs and institutions.
