This is a one-​of-​a-​kind jewelry shop that is more museum than jewelry store. The other reviews are pretty spot-​on – the pieces that have been selected for this tiny room, maybe 8’x12’. Most of the pieces are pricey, but I’ve found a number for a few hundred dollars and have gotten a few. This is more like wearing art than jewelry, and while many are meant to be worn as statement pieces, there are also some really exquisite delicate ones that are quietly elegant. One review said that they ranged from whimsical to architectural, and I couldn’t agree more. The range of artistry and the scope of creative talent is mesmerizingly great, if not a bit overwhelming. The workers are really knowledgable about the artists and the art of jewelry making and are really helpful. It’s definitely a store to venture into, whether you’re looking for a great gift, a unique engagement ring, or just want to see some great art (or jewelry-​as-​art). Truly a DC treasure.

If you like jewelry as art, this is an intriguing little place in Cady Alley. The numerous showcased designers provide items that would fit categories from «normal» to completely unique, from simplistic to ridiculously complex, from minimalist to intricate, and from warm and fuzzy to dark and disturbing. The prices are very steep, but you would most likely be getting a one-​of-​a-​kind piece. If you aren’t into owning such things, it’s still an interesting place to browse to appreciate creativity — the staff is very friendly and welcomes you to open all the drawers and ask any questions. And you really never know what you might come across here…

On a stroll through Cady’s Alley in Georgetown, we ended up inside Jewelers’ Werk Galerie. From outside this tiny store there is barely a hint of the dazzling treasures you will find inside. All of the extraordinary pieces of wearable art on offer here are stored in drawers. Opening each one means finding a slew of surprises from bracelets to earrings to necklaces and rings. The pieces range from whimsical to architectural. My friend and I couldn’t stop gasping and saying to one another, «Look at THIS!»
From lucite to rubber, silver, plastic and even flower petals, extraordinary pieces are crafted from rather ordinary materials. The results? Stunning! If ever you’ve sought an inimitable gift for someone special be it your mother, finacee, sister or wife, this is where you ought to be shopping. Never in one place have I seen so many exceptional and beautiful creations.
