Laser White Express – DC

I too bought the living social deal. I was not expecting to have to pay $ 20 more for a stronger solution, and I kept pressing the girl to tell me it was better, but she really wouldn’t, so I went for the regular strength. I was left with tooth sensitivity and no whitening whatsoever. She tried to appease my by saying whitening would continue over a few days, but of course that didn’t happen. Don’t waste your time and money. I have yet to find something that does work, but I can tell you for sure that this does not (whitestrips a few years ago did not either in my experience).

Purchased deal through KGB. Received a confirmation of my appointment then 5 minutes later received a cancellation and to contact Living Social to request a refund. When I called the office, they are no longer in the DC area.

What a scamers!!! Laser White Express moved to Philadelphia. They out of business but scheduling online is still on and the answering service as well. Just got my money back. What a waste of the time!

biggest crock of shit ever. I feel like an idiot for having participated. When the chick showed me the mirror of the «after» I should have told her to hide her kids cuz it looked exactly the same and I wanted to crack that mirror against her head for ripping me off. This is the biggest scam ever… it’s a traveling scam because the service took place in a closet. Seriously, a literal closet.

Did not work. Not worth the 80 dollars. My teeth were still yellow after, and I never had terribly yellow teeth to begin with. I don’t smoke, don’t drink coffee or tea, but I had never really whitened my teeth before. A few months later I went and bought a 5 min whitening gel from CVS and that worked 10 times better after the first 15 minutes.

Wow, really useless. I agree with most of the comments on here. For $ 79 you expect some kind of result. Furthermore, to charge an extra $ 20 for a better solution when you get there is ridiculous. So $ 100 later, same color teeth with a few random splotchy white spots.
Just buy over the counter products, this is such a waste of money…

I purchased the deal through living social and made an appointment on-​line. On Sunday before the appointment I received an email saying they needed to cancel the appointment. On Monday around 10:30 I called in to rescedule and no one was in the office. The «receptionist» who can’t discuss scheduling put me on hold for nearly 10 minutes and then transferred me to an answering machine. So at this point I haven’t been able to redeem my gift certificate but the level of professionalism so far has been extremely low.

I also took the Living Social deal and paid extra for the stronger solution. I’m pretty satisfied! My teeth are brighter and it was an easy experience. Yes, the office is small and there was another person getting treatment, but so what? The location is great and my attendant, Celeste, was as nice and helpful as could be. Plus, I was served promptly and was in and out in under an hour. I can see a difference and that’s more than I can say for most of the $ 80 face creams I’ve bought!

I paid the 20 extra bucks for the 20% solution. It lightened my teeth by 3 shades on the first day, but it seems my teeth went back to looking the same 3 days later. The process itself was 40 minutes, an hour with prep. The process was not painful but later on in the day my nerves were shooting with pain and I had to take advil every few hours to numb the pain and to be able to sleep. Also my gum was burned in one spot and I only noticed when it started peeling the next day. NOT SAFE. I know that professional whitening is also painful but your gums are protected when you get it done. Also you see drastic results. This was not worth it.

I bought the LivingSocial deal on a whim because I’d been thinking it would be nice to get my teeth whitened but wasn’t actively looking to do it. I guess it serves me right for being cheap when it comes to something like dental work.
Laser White Express is a tiny office with two chairs and a desk for the attendant. It was clean and it’s not a complicated process that requires a lot of tools so I didn’t mind its appearance as long as I saw results. I upgraded to the 20% solution to increase my chances, but no results. If I look closely, my teeth seem a tiny bit whiter but I’m not sure if it’s really a change or just my mind playing tricks on me. Either way, it was a waste of money and if I do get a whitening treatment again it will be with an actual dentist.

i too used the living social coupon. my teeth weren’t too bad in the first place and the stuff worked fine. if my teeth had been more discolored, or if i had gone there with higher expectations, i would probably have been disappointed. the office set up was less than clinical, but the technician was nice and i was in and out in under an hour.
i paid the extra 20 bucks for the more powerful solution & i also bought an at home kit when i left ($ 29). all in all i paid less than $ 150 and my teeth look better then when i walked in. mission accomplished.

The location is close to dupont circle.
First, this place is not a professional, the lady who performs the whitening is not a licensed dentist. They only a 16% whitening solution and you have to pay and extra $ 20 for the 20% solution. A licensed dentist uses a 40% solution.
Second, they operate in a tiny tiny room, about the size of a walk in closet, where you see the other person being treated, there is no reception room at all.
Last, when I purchased this deal on Living Social I was expecting a professional dentist and white teeth. I have pretty decent teeth and after the treatment they were not white, no noticeable difference. This place is a complete waste of money, stay away from here

This is not a dentist’s office. It’s a room in an office buillding near Dupont.
The treatment was NOT worth it. No one noticed, even myself. The lady next to me opted to pay extra for the stronger treatment and she did not notice anything either.
At the end they offered me the EXACT same kit to use at home that they just used on me for $ 20 (only difference is at home you don’t have the laser). The woman, who was very friendly, told me it usually retails for $ 100.
She said it might take time to notice a difference. I never noticed anything.
I am very disappointed that living social is offering this deal again.

I had a Living Social coupon for this place — and with no reviews at the time on Unilocal I probably should’ve known better… but anyways, I made an appointment 3 weeks in advance for 6:00 after work.
Location is easy to find, right off Dupont metro. But — building apparently closes at 6 so I was stuck outside for a good 5 minutes before someone left and I was able to get back in the lobby. I discover the security guard is on rounds and I can’t get up to my appointment without her. 10 minutes and a «ill be late» phone call later, I’m being escorted around many corners to a room.
This isn’t an office, it is literally a room with 2 zero gravity chairs, the equipment, and the computer.
The girl who worked there was very nice, but she didnt even ask me (or the guy who came in after me) for my Living Social coupon or anything. Also — you’re only offered the 16% whitening and have to pay $ 20 extra for the stronger stuff.
Overall, I was hoping to come out with super movie-​star white teeth and they kind of just look the same. They’re already white, but I think to have seen anything I would’ve needed the stronger solution. Kind of a rip-​off in my opinion.

I purchased a Laser White Express coupon for $ 79 through Living Social, in hopes of removing some minor surface stains from my teeth. My teeth weren’t particularly discolored, so I was actually concerned about them turning out TOO white after the procedure.
As the previous reviewer stated, the office is small and is NOT a dentist’s office– it’s similar to those setups you see in the mall (reclined chairs with blue laser lamps aimed in people’s mouths). The technician was pleasant and efficient.
The procedure consisted of:
*using a little cloth to clean the surface of your teeth
*the tech inserts a plastic piece into your mouth (to keep it open), then rubs vitamin E on your gums with a Q-​tip, to prevent irritation
*the tech applies a hydrogen peroxide gel to your teeth and directs the laser lamp into your mouth
*you wait 15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with water
*Repeat the entire process, for a total of 30 minutes under the laser
The tech let me check out my teeth in the mirror after the first 15 minutes, and I was not impressed… my teeth looked the same, except for a few tiny, whiter spots… and I did NOT want spotted teeth! After the second 15-​minute session, my teeth were even in color (phew!), but definitely not much whiter. I would say they lightened 1 shade, total. Since my teeth weren’t super stained, I’m wondering if this treatment would make more of a difference on someone with extensive staining? There was an older man before me though, and he didn’t seem thrilled with his results either.
I will admit that my teeth continued to lighten after the procedure, and are now maybe another half shade lighter. A friend told me he thought my teeth looked whiter… so that’s a plus. Unfortunately, though, I have experienced some gum sensitivity since the treatment.
Considering you can get Crest Whitestrips or similar products for $ 30-​$ 40, I would definitely recommend those over this treatment, and I would NEVER suggest anyone pay the supposed full price of $ 179!
