Specialties

I am a licensed massage therapist in DC and MD. I specialize in Zero Balancing, a leading-edge body-mind therapy that uses skilled touch to balance the relationship between body energy and structure to amplify wellness, Massage Cupping™, «Deep Massage» The Lauterstein Method, Energy Healing and Natural Face-Lifting (which includes certification in Burnham Systems Rejuv Miracles and Bellanina Facelift Massage). I have studied and taken Levels 1 and 2 of the Domancic Method of Bioenergy Healing. My intention is to utilize the most appropriate techniques to facilitate balance and well being for each client.

History

Established in 1996.

I started out doing bodywork part-time while Still doing my full time job. I was thinking of giving up my practice in 2003 and stopped doing massage for awhile although I was still receiving bodywork, mainly Zero Balancing (ZB). After 9 years of receiving ZB I finally took a class to learn about it. That class, taught by the creator of ZB, Fritz Smith, changed the focus of my practice and inspired me to become a Zero Balancing practitioner. In 2008 I left my day-time cubicle job and sought to expand my practice.

Meet the Business Owner

Lisa S.

Business Owner

I was born and raised in Washington, DC. I received a degree in English from Connecticut College and a degree in Fine Arts in Ceramics from Boston U.‘s Program in Artisanry. I attended the Baltimore School of Massage and became a licensed Massage Therapist in 1996.

I was an avid runner for many years and completed countless 10K races and 3 marathons.

It was my own personal experience with back and neck pain that led me to seek out chiropractic work and massage in the early 90s. This changed the course of my life and, ultimately, my career path.

In massage school I learned Active Isolated Stretching, worked on massage crew for the Philadelphia DC AIDS Ride in 1996 where I employed these stretches on the cyclists who came to my table and saw fantastic results. Inspired by the cyclists I stretched, I trained and completed 3 different long distance cycling events.

I am deeply focused on using what I have learned to help facilitate health and wellness in my clients.
