History

Established in 1898.

Opening with 33 beds in 1898, Georgetown University Hospital opened as part of Georgetown University. In 1930, the hospital changed locations to where it currently operates. It wasn’t until the year 2000 that Georgetown University entered a partnership with MedStar Health to create MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
